    Sorry this is an old video, but I can reccomend specifically a usb-c PD (power delivery) usb+power bank step adapter as the usb-c PD will ensure it only consumes the correct voltage from the power bank. This way, the step converter will always receive the correct input voltage, and then deliver the correct output voltage to your camera.

    Thanks for your extensive coverage Graham. I'm going to buy a power supply for mine but minus any battery, so hopefully no issues with this method.

      Yes the multifunction plate will provide 8.4v from a PD input without ant battery installed on it. The battery gives back up incase power fails though.

    Interesting stuff Graham. I'm glad I've never tried connecting either my FZ82 or FZ1000 to a power bank.

      Some power banks are better than others - when they reach completion level the stay off until charging current is re-applied. The cheaper ones (and some more expensive ones) don't do this and they "recover" enough to cause the camera to power up again and hence the destructive cycle of events! Thanks for your comment.

    Very useful stuff Graham (subbed), just dug out an old bike light battery checked charge and still had 8.4v charge! Thanks for the info. Stay safe n well Dude. TFS, GB :)

    For my RX100 M7 i use a usb power bank as the internal battery is 3.7 v & i can use the charging input .Is that wrong ? Or is there better way ?Thanks for a all your great video tutorials & greetings from Sydney,
