Didn’t expect that Gothic Cavs would beat the much higher Defense stats of Cappadocian Cavs, probably got to be the Morale as the decisive factors
Attack is worth more than defence, and Gothic has a 4 attack advantage
Thanks for the comment. Yea, it was rather impressive :)
Goth cav in campaign also has 3 exp bc of the building u recruit them from so the cappadocian wouldnt even had a chance against them
True :) Thanks for the comment.
Now it would be cool to see how Cataphracts fare vs Gothic cav. With and without alt. attack. If memory serves me right, Catas don't have a shield but have higher armor. I wonder if they'll also lose to Gothic cav without their maces.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will add that to To-Do list :)
No wonder the Cappadocian cav didn't win with their alternative attack. I wouldn't be able to hit anything with a dagger either.
But they did win using their, uh, swords (yes, those are called swords in the game files)
Interestingly their attack is a bit better with the dagger :D Thanks for the comment.
Wow Germania cav beating OP Pontus?
Since when is Pontus OP?
To be fair, Germania is OP up to the eyeballs
@@danielbalderrama4137 scythed chariots. Bronze shields and armoured archer chariots
greek cavalry vs round shield cavalry
Thanks for the suggestion. I will add that to TO-Do list :)
I really wanted to vote for cappadocia, but I knew the gothic OP ...
Damn, Pontus cav is trash if they lose to Gothic cav. Really thought the Cappadocians would take this one
They really suffer from the lack of AP attacks :) Thanks for the comment.
omg. alternative melee attack. my life will never be that same anymore. How Could I Not Know That?
And... how are you running old-school RTW so stable? I had, like, 15 fps, when I tried it from Steam on Windows 11.
Thanks for the comment. Here is a link to a vid, where I show how to get the game and get it running :) I hope it helps.

Yeah Germany proven once more it had CA giving it the major handjob in this game.
Don't underestimate the Gothic Cavalry.
They are the best Cavalry men that Rome had during Julius Caesar's time.
It was so good that it won him decisive battles and had turned the tides numerous times throughout his campaign. He constantly asks for the Germanic Tribes he conquered for reinforcement when their numbers dropped due to the Gothic Cavalry always engaged in combat.
@@micalangenburg1706 "Gothic Cavalry" did not exist during Ceaser's time dude. The Goths themselves did not have direct contact with Rome until well into the later Imperial era, as for the German Cavalry itself it had more to do with how Ceaser used them then them somehow being one of the best cavalrymen in the world. It is doubtful they could take on heavy Cataphract cavalry head-on and win easily.
Looks are not everything!
Seems to be the case :) Thanks for the comment.
