- Last weekend I joined Pici Lala on some baling cruise with the mighty & oldschool Iveco TurboStar 190-42 from 1989. The truck has a 420hp double-turbocharged 17.000 ccm V8 engine. Some say it's the best truck ever built in Italy. The transmission is a 12 speed Fuller, with an extra crawler gear, so maybe it's 13. ;)
No loud pipes this time, but maybe in the future. This beast would have a crazy rumble! :D

ahhhh nosztalgia 😍gyerek voltam még, Apum akkor egy 190-36-al dolgozott, suli szünetekben mindig mentem vele melóba. Volt, hogy egy szót sem szóltam egész úton, mert néztem és próbáltam rájönni, hogyan kell a 16-os ZF váltót kapcsolni :D Már akkor is legenda volt a 190-42 és még most is az :) Nagyon szeretjük a Scania V8-at is, de van élet azon túl is, köszönjük ezt a videót! Jó volt újra látni húszon' év után egy TurboStar-t dolgozni ;)

Jó lett a video és a kamion is szép. Gyerekkorom kedvenc kamion típusa volt❤️A TIR sorozatot epekedve vártam mindíg. Ez a gép még ma is szép számomra. A legtutibb változata nekem a 190 Cowboy a 2 hátsó kéményel és a krom pakettel🥰De persze simán megfordultam egy Hungaros szerelvény utan is
Ohh! Apám is mindig duplakuplungolt, a HC-nál dolgozott egy 190-36-al, bogis, pótossal. Aztán egy maszeknál egy másik 190-36-al. De gyerekkoromból megvan ez a beltér, amikor hazajött a kamionnal egyfolytában benne voltam, a kormányt sem értem át. Nagyon jó videó, köszi, hogy feltöltötted. A legtöbben már nem tudják hogy kell duplakuplungolni, úgyhogy külön bravúr Pici Lalának, meg az autóért is. Köszi!

@@zivaTARY And in a lot ways better than new driving computers. with full automaat I drove all that older stuff. you did get muscle in your arms.
Fuller transmission is not synchronized transmission, you can shift it without using the clutch. You us the clutch when you take off and don't touch it until you stop again.
This 42 can delivery 1900Nm despite not having intercooler (only the 48 has)
Szia Tivatary! Hibát követ el, ha sebességet vált. Feljebb váltáskor csak kétszer kell megnyomni a tengelykapcsolót, miközben nem gyorsít. Lefelé váltáskor, fokozaton kívül engedje el a tengelykapcsolót, nyomja meg a gázpedált, nyomja meg a tengelykapcsolót és sebességbe. Why does he make a double clutch ??? Normally when you have the good rpm the speed engages with no problem about the Fuller
It's for mocking lazy americans who don't cluch at all.
In another comment the owner said that the previous owner of the truck didn't know how to shift a Fuller and almost killed the gearbox so this is the only way it engages without any problem.

Jó a kérdés, de mivel az autó szinte csak az Alföld kellős közepén mozog, így a legnagyobb emelkedő, amit lát, az maximum egy Tisza-híd. 🤔🤣

Faster shifting speed its make differncal less pressure in heavy loads.
Whys he using the clutch wen it got a fuller gearbox?. Only need clutch peddle when pulling away. You can change gear when ur at correct rpm
The driver said to me that only the splitter is "Fuller". That one can be shifted without clutch, and you can see it in the video that he does not use it while splitting. But as he also said, for the "full" gears he has to use the clutch. I also have to mention that I've been in several American trucks with Fuller system, and they all shifted clutchless, while if you check Turbostar videos, almost nobody does it. Maybe it's a different type of Fuller, I don't know.😄

@@zivaTARY Driven old Fiat/Ivecos with the same gearbox. You can shift without clutch in all gears.Takes a bit of practice thats all. Some old Reanult Magnums with cat engine and fuller as well, all not synchronised gearboxes can do that . Born in 62, It was far from all vehicles that had synchrmesh. We grew up learning this, grinding when shifting was NOT acceptable. Never wrecked a gearbox.

Ez egy aszinkronos Eaton-Fuller váltó.Nem ZF.
A kuplungot csak az elinduláshoz és a megálláshoz kell lenyomni.
Menet közben a megfelelő fordulatszám tartományban a kuplungpedál lenyomása nélkül reccsenés mentesen lehet váltani!
A dupla kuplung használat....😁😁😁
Az összes amerikai manuális váltós kamion így működik.
Szépen, a nem jó fordulat használat miatt nem megy....

A properly prepared 190-48 (just ignition tuning) can still kick the ass of any truck on the road today, especially with heavy load and uphill. Scania 800 or Volvo makes no difference. Because some TurboStar were running (and some is still) well beyond 1000 HP. With dramatic cost in economy and ecology terms of course.
The truck was awful when it comes to driver comfort in long trips, but the heart, the 17L V8, was a masterpiece of engineering for its time.
So easy to tune up and fix and very solid in the core (though not so much in some other stock parts - but those could be easily and cheaply changed with aftermarket ones)
Some guy squeezed like 2000+ HP from it
Fuel consumption and emissions were not such a problem in the golden age of TurboStar.

Awsome engine. Maximum power from as soon as u lift the clutch. I think the engine was originally a marine engine then put in trucks. How I'd love drive one now.

A váltások azért történnek így mert ahonnan hozzánk került az autó ott egyeltalán nem értettek hozzá, és sajnos kicsit leharcolták a váltót. Így csak így lehet az autóval szépen váltani.
