I delist, and sell similar every month. It absolutely boosts items, if not my entire store. I have actually seen the complete opposite of a ban… that’s a wild comment.
I disagree. I just started to delete and sell similar to my older stock of more obscure vintage items and those exact items are what I'm selling most of currently. So, while correctly listing is important for sure, I don't personally see any real evidence of shadow banning for that reason.
Sadly, this is a sales pitch for mentoring. I take down 200 of my 4200 items daily and do Sell Similar, not relist. I do this because it works. The items I've done this with have better sell throughs the way I'm doing it and it takes 2 or 3 minutes. My titles are fine and my items show up on eBay searches when ebay is working properly (which isn't often lately). Seriously though, 40% returns on items? I've had less than ten items returned out of the 13,000 I've sold over 24 years. I kind of laughed out loud at this example. If you're getting 40% returns on an item that apparently sold with bad photos, then there was either something wrong with the product, buyer's remorse, etc, but not the pics. Seriously, those pics sold the item, so why used this as an example?
The ebay hack is to delist/sell similar, not to delist/relist. When a listing is ended, then the two options are "Relist" or "Sell Similar" and so the comment you're referencing could be doing it the wrong way. If someone chooses "Relist" then the listing is not assigned a new item number, but if someone chooses "Sell Similar" then it will be new and is not being shadow banned. The comment is indeed ridiculous, because it is incorrect.
Perhaps. The algo likely knows when you're using the same photos though. But there's also the thought of what happens when you use their stock image if available? *shrugs
Delist & sell similar has worked for me. I usually do it in batches of 200 items that haven’t sold despite ~6 months of being on the site. Some listings will go from 0 monthly views before delisting, to selling in less than a week after relisting via sell similar.
@@WellnessWizdom May I ask why you watch this channel then? Yes he doesn’t sell on eBay at the moment but he is doing just as much sales or more without ebay. I think Chris and Tekensports are two of the best clothing resellers on any platform.
Always a fan of the good advice Chris gives. But this advice is not 100% accurate. For collectibles, end and sell similar is a boost. I've done it many times and it helps. You can't claim coincidence when you end a large number of the same collectibles, and sell similar without changing a thing (price or title), and then you get several sales of those items in a row. Collectibles are often in saved searches. The new listing does show up new in saved searches. Different time it catches the eye of a collector differently. I have tried it with clothing, but not seen any results from it in that category.
I dunno. I tried the end and sell similar recently, and I suddenly had no sales at all for 3 days. I feel like they are shadow banning people. My sales went back to normal after the 3 days
Maybe you're talking about just "relisting" and not "sell similar", because ebay themselves told me to delete items and sell similar to reset the items and said it refreshes them. Also I wasnt listing all of March and my store went dead and in April I ended 60 items a day and sold similar and within the week of doing so I started selling things again, waking up my store. So I'm thinking its just the "relisting" that you're talking about, because "sell similar" is working. What about the people who just want to sell their stuff and aren't in it for a business? They obviously can't list everyday because they only have x amount to list. Ebay just needs to fix their issues and get it together where all can come to sell and at least get a fair shot! We're seeing experienced sellers having major issues everyday, myself included. This should not be an issue!
There is no "delist" action so right there I find the comment dubious. The end listing / sell similar option definitely doesn't get your items shadow banned. If it did, how come I can suddenly "send offers" on those items?
I have to respectfully disagree with you on this. Today I sold 5 relisted items I relisted yesterday. I relisted 15 items and really did not change anything. Sometimes people don't know everything.
I usually change up the price when I end and sell similar. Every time I do it, I always sell some of those items. It definitely works and takes like 5 minutes.
If you just delist and relist and you are "shadow banned" then there is something wrong with the listing. I have delisted items and sold similar to show as a new listing but also looked into why I didn't sell it the first time. Most of the time it's the price or my description needed tweaking. It then sells. Look into why your item is not selling. No one is just shadow banned.

sorry I'm a bit lost..as far as I remember since I'm following you, eBay banned you forever for selling items without proof of purchase if I'm not mistaken..how are you able to join eBay back? Thanks
I do relist old items but I will take new pictures, drop the price and double check item specifics. I've been pretty successful in getting those items sold. However I don't do it a lot because I always have tons of new items to list and I only do it because I've seen those items sold.
Only difference between your listings being unlisted and relisted every month and just rolling over every month is the new order number. I think we've all had items that don't sell in the first 30 days because they're expensive, not in season, not wanted, or not priced right. I have no issue with someone ending their listing and using sell similar. Tons of TH-camr's and Resellers preach it.
De-list and relist is not De-list and sell similar. I've had nothing but good results by doing the latter method on stale items (over 90 days old). However, it's always good to tweak the listing. Usually I'll look at the price or offer settings, the title, the description, and specifics I might have missed the first time around. And then I'll adjust the promoted percentage if I'm promoting. -BUT- my store is small, and I understand this might be very time-consuming for folks with lots and lots of items. At that point, yeah, you want to do it right the first time.
My traffic went up about 40% from delist/relist. I view it like dusting the shelves at a retail store, or putting the soon to expire milk at the front. Just because something doesn't sell within 3 months doesn't mean failure. Plus it takes 5 minutes. Additionally, eBay actually TOLD sellers to do this to combat stale listings. Some things take 93 days to sell instead of 90 is all, but if eBay puts you in the void, you're screwed.
Interesting topic. I find end and resell to be a helpful fix, not as a cure-all for bad listings, but as an opportunity to edit and add my year of additional listing and selling experience to improve listings. I am in my second year of selling books full time, and when I end and re-list items that are among my first listings, I literally cringe at the errors, poorly ordered keywords, wasted words, insane overpricing, missed keywords, ... If Ebay is "shadow banning" those improved ads, I will know within a few days, because I check my views, impressions (organic v. promoted) and of course sales. If they are simply not showing bad ads that are still bad, then as a seller, I see that as a good thing.
Over the past week, I have ended and sell similar approximately 40 books, and I sold six of them. THERE IS NO SHADOW BAN. However, as I mentioned before, I edit my listings before I put them back up, and more often than not, because I began selling books a little over a year ago, those listings needed and benefitted from a good edit. So, it is not just returning as a new listing, it is returning as a new listing, with a better headline, and a more appropriate price, more accurate condition, additional specifics, ... Big difference.
Maybe this is why my boring reseller and other reselling channel are telling that ebay servers and sales are always down..alot of resellers preach delist relist.. I just watch the videos and asked why my sales are not down. I am up every month which is interesting..
Not true. Unless, they are picking sellers at random that do this method? Helps my sales. Doesn’t stop sales at all. Maybe this could also be something sellers are trying to get people to believe so as to slow other sellers sales? Maybe not. Either way this method has always helped me and hasn’t hurt me lately either.
Delisting & Relist is different from Delist & Sell Similar. Chris keeps saying Delist/Relist, so which is he talking about? I delist and sell similar on singular items with the highest "add recommendeds" on usually one item per day. I'm down to my older listing that are at +5 Add Recommendeds. So I get a new ebay item # and reduce my description recommended down to zero or one missed.

Never tried the method, but never needed to. Any aging listings get revised and repriced. If something still doesn't sell, it was a bad buy, get rid, move on.
THIS! All too often people over complicate life. Cut out the ego, you made a bad purchase -learn from it and move on. This is just another example of "time is money".
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I have had this discussion with various people (some of which are youtube resellers) They all insist you HAVE TO do this relist thing. Nope! I have tried it about 2 years ago with zero sasses. I list at the median average price of sold comps and generally I move stuff pretty decently, delisting and relisting is a huge waste of time if your overpriced which seems to be a thing these days (price at 3x what you expect and enable best offer...) I have only sold maybe 3 items with a best offer most of the time I find people will by it now at full price if the price is fair and just move it it's overpriced. Just my thoughts, but everything you said is in line with my past experience. Thank you! Peace
I believe the relist/sell similar hack doesn't work even if you change your title around because each photo and listing has it's own file number. You would have to start from scratch with new photos to make your listing new.
That’s not what the comment said, the comment said “ if it doesn’t SELL the first time” not “ if it’s not done right the first time”. You can do everything perfectly right and still not sell the item. So you kinda missed the context of that comment you responded to
How long does it usually take for ebay to confirm your identity? My account has been restricted for 10 days now, every since I followed some of your basic tips 2 weeks ago. My sales was up 100% in those 2 weeks. But now I am in ebay jail... Any tips to get out of ebay jail? Would this be one of the topics discussed in your group chats if I join?
Try reposting an item you’ve had listed a while. You can lower the price, change the title, mess with the description, fix the specifics, etc. it still won’t show up as a newly listed item. Saying that simply lowering the price and reposting will reset the listing is false. A lot of collectibles were worth more a year ago and now trying to relist them for a lower price to match the market value will not get you a newly listed item. This is a new change eBay has made and something I’ve abused in the past
@Jonathan Pore I've been ending, sell similar since I started Reselling only because I was new and that's the advice other Resellers were giving. I just did it to probably 20 listings earlier today and all of them are showing up on the top of the search.
@@theresellinghusband yeah it works sometimes but maybe start being more deliberate about it, even ending and starting a new listing from scratch and schedule it to start a different day
100% not true. I sell a lot of items on the day or the day after i list as "sell similar". I think the KEY here is if you sell similar because you didnt sell in 30 days, it should be an actual good price and not the same shit item still crazy overpriced.
I have less than 100 listings. Ebay seems to be only showing listed I have just listed or pay for promoted listings. My listings that are over 60 days old have very little views.
For my photos, I use a white table and a cinderblock wall also painted white. I feel like that texture still looks great, but it’s better than a pure white background. I like to have a little variety so sometimes I use a wood panel background for posters, t- shirts or other large flat items. I’m wondering if I need to just do everything exactly the same. I haven’t had any trouble selling on either background.
Ebay will most definitely pick up on the delist relist crap. The baby resellers are the ones who keep doing it. They try to use every trick to boost their sales when in reality all you have to do is actually put in the work and list your items with quality photos. It might work for a few days but if you're not actually listing new items your sales are going to drop. There's a new "app" that claims it can relist and delist for you and the lady who owns the app had her account restricted immediately after launching it.
The purpose of Sale Similar IS to do exactly what it does; relist your listing as a new listing All this video is doing is advertising his pay for knowledge classes.
Ebay really sucks now. I try to login and complain about not receiving my package, but they want to give me a damned eye test. Screw ya'll. Next time I will go to Amazon like I should have this time.
I do delist and sell similar, my question is if your store is as big as you want it to be. You can not grow anymore, then just end and sell similar, ebay is stupid. It makes you look like you have 300 new items everyday, why bother listing at all? I spend two days a week listing new items keeping 20 items in drafts, sell similar, then just 2 hours while watching t.v. I pick a couple listings and move photo's around change up the title. As long as the ebay algorithm see's some movement or you messing around in your store they don't care. I have 4000 listed, that is enough. I've moved onto other sites now. Sometimes, if sells seem slow, I have a couple of friends go in and like an item, it pops it to the top. My problem is all this pissing around when they could just do what I'm paying them for and push the item to sell. When was the last time you saw an ebay ad? With the economy in the toilet ebay should be pushing a sell site that offer's lower priced products instead of saying we need to find better deals. The last joke was there going to push trending items, trending items sell for themselves, they are such a joke.
I never understood the delist relist method, like that obviously feels like cheating, but only your cheating yourself! Plus, I actually want my store to grow! Lol. I did it for like 2 days and already could picture myself just delisting and relistinf to hit my listing goal each day! 😂
Good insights. See this "hack" on delisting on multiple channels and always wondering if this is really a good tip. You said it: "make it right the first time".
Not accurate at all, but I seems you were able to make sure and plug your group and your video sponser enough so us poor ebayers learn to do it the right way.....im really starting to dislike your channel Chris. Its like watching infomercials anymore.
First, I want to say that even as a seller on ebay for 20 years I have learned a ton from Cris and Tech about streamlining processes etc. But, END and SELL SIMILAR, NOT end and relist as long as you change something about the listing like lowering the price by a dollar which is what I do, 100% puts those items back in the new listing category and my items get views and often immediately sell. I agree with others here that nothing is being shadow banned if you do that. I only do it with my oldest listings, about 200 per day and takes 2-3 mins. As part of my morning routine. I have 4200 listings and my sales are consistently great due to following a consistent daily listing habit as well, not due to the hack, but the hack gets an extra sale here or there. There is NO substitute for consistently listing new organic items daily even if it is just 1 or 2 for those of you with new or small stores. Lastly, I just want to say that the economy being bad cannot be discounted in this discussion. There are no more stimulus checks.Gas is $5 a gallon and food is outrageously priced so there is no expendable income to buy a used shirt on ebay that has 2 million others listed in competition. Do what Cris says! Do it right the first time, make your listing the best it can be to stand out and it WILL sell. Most of all stay consistent with your listing habit and don't give up when things on the site get slow for a week or two. It always picks back up when you are doing it right.

I have only sold maybe 3 items with a best offer most of the time I find people will by it now at full price if the price is fair and just move it it's overpriced. Just my thoughts, but everything you said is in line with my past experience. Thank you! Peace
Brother how are you eligible for promotion on ebay?
@@hatlook24 Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? Promotion of what?
I believe the relist/sell similar hack doesn't work even if you change your title around because each photo and listing has it's own file number. You would have to start from scratch with new photos to make your listing new.
When you "sell similar" then your new listing gets a new "file number" as you call it.
If ebay didnt want you to do something then why have the option there?
That’s not what the comment said, the comment said “ if it doesn’t SELL the first time” not “ if it’s not done right the first time”. You can do everything perfectly right and still not sell the item. So you kinda missed the context of that comment you responded to
How long does it usually take for ebay to confirm your identity? My account has been restricted for 10 days now, every since I followed some of your basic tips 2 weeks ago. My sales was up 100% in those 2 weeks. But now I am in ebay jail... Any tips to get out of ebay jail? Would this be one of the topics discussed in your group chats if I join?
You got a heart like. I guess that's your tip.
Has this shadow ban doing delist relist been confirmed by anyone?
Try reposting an item you’ve had listed a while. You can lower the price, change the title, mess with the description, fix the specifics, etc. it still won’t show up as a newly listed item. Saying that simply lowering the price and reposting will reset the listing is false. A lot of collectibles were worth more a year ago and now trying to relist them for a lower price to match the market value will not get you a newly listed item. This is a new change eBay has made and something I’ve abused in the past
i think it might be real because I am a serial delist/sell similar and I noticed a drop.
@Jonathan Pore I've been ending, sell similar since I started Reselling only because I was new and that's the advice other Resellers were giving. I just did it to probably 20 listings earlier today and all of them are showing up on the top of the search.
@@theresellinghusband yeah it works sometimes but maybe start being more deliberate about it, even ending and starting a new listing from scratch and schedule it to start a different day
@@Williamdealing I'm a serial delister/sell similar just like you. I do it to all my listings every month before they end and roll over on their own.
Longtail type listings do seem to still be fine. Items listed over two years ago are still selling occasionally.
100% not true. I sell a lot of items on the day or the day after i list as "sell similar". I think the KEY here is if you sell similar because you didnt sell in 30 days, it should be an actual good price and not the same shit item still crazy overpriced.
I have a used kitchen aid and I love it!
🤣
I have less than 100 listings.
Ebay seems to be only showing listed I have just listed or pay for promoted listings.
My listings that are over 60 days old have very little views.
I knew that relisting in bulk wasn’t working anymore .. I now end and redo each item!
Yea but how do we refresh our items that are getting buried by new listings?
For my photos, I use a white table and a cinderblock wall also painted white. I feel like that texture still looks great, but it’s better than a pure white background. I like to have a little variety so sometimes I use a wood panel background for posters, t- shirts or other large flat items. I’m wondering if I need to just do everything exactly the same. I haven’t had any trouble selling on either background.
i do sell similar and i can see it on the first page as newly listed.
He used to preach de-list re-list!!!!
New seller Have purchased membership on eBay but are not eligible for the promotion.
Brother how are you eligible for promotion on ebay?
Another TH-cam grifter trying to sell you a subscription fee.
a whole skill share video okay
Find out about list perfectly -- you can delete and relist from there -- without a catch.
What is s shadow ban
Sku is also very important
Ebay will most definitely pick up on the delist relist crap. The baby resellers are the ones who keep doing it. They try to use every trick to boost their sales when in reality all you have to do is actually put in the work and list your items with quality photos. It might work for a few days but if you're not actually listing new items your sales are going to drop. There's a new "app" that claims it can relist and delist for you and the lady who owns the app had her account restricted immediately after launching it.
can you prove this?
The purpose of Sale Similar IS to do exactly what it does; relist your listing as a new listing
All this video is doing is advertising his pay for knowledge classes.
Sounds to me like he is just trying to sell a course?
idk on the one hand, you are spitting simple truths on the other hand you are denying reality
“Same exact incorrect item specifics” 😂
Hello Chris.
Ebay really sucks now. I try to login and complain about not receiving my package, but they want to give me a damned eye test. Screw ya'll. Next time I will go to Amazon like I should have this time.
Great update Chris
All my items sell with in two weeks. Never need to delist. Can't keep enough items in stock they are selling so fast.
So tell us... what is it that you sell so fast...
I can't give you my secret, once I become a multimillionaire I will let you know
@Dameon Dee ... dude get real... I won't hold you up... I know you need to get to KFC and deep fry the chicken...
show us your ways
@@celestealtus1687 I wish I could, but I'm not rich yet, just discovered the secret this year.
All good points!
Don’t give em the game…
Good insights. See this "hack" on delisting on multiple channels and always wondering if this is really a good tip. You said it: "make it right the first time".
Bro this is wrong information. Just click bait. Does the complete opposite. You're better than this

Not accurate at all, but I seems you were able to make sure and plug your group and your video sponser enough so us poor ebayers learn to do it the right way.....im really starting to dislike your channel Chris. Its like watching infomercials anymore.
100% right.
Liar
😎🙏
This guy is wrong!
anybody who just hits "Sell Similar" and doesnt actually CHANGE the title and a few other things.... deserves to be shadow banned lmao
Help brother
