A couple of months ago, we thought we were going to be having a shortage of groceries. We bought a lot of canned chicken. Now I don't know what to do with it. Thank you for your canned chicken ideas. When we work all weekend are very busy, we love fast put together casseroles.

Using canned chicken makes some of the yummiest and easiest meals! I often add canned chicken to one of those Knorr Rice packets, add in some mixed veggies and dinner is done! This looks really good!
And here I thought I was the only one that did that with the Knorr packets 😁😁😁

Looks like how I make my Bisquick chicken pot pie, with variations, I use a pie pan and only one can of chicken. I was thinking I'd like to try it once using chicken, broccoli, and cheddar cheese broccoli soup. A pie tin size was enough for my family of four

If you like fried mush..grits.corn meal cooked minute grits..add can chicken. Cool ..slice .fry in butter..ratio.. 2cup grits.1cup c.meal4 cup water or chicken broth..add can chicken..butter a bread loaf pan..cool..
My kids and I survived summer 2020 with canned chicken. I was extremely broke, and made canned chicken with everything. Rice, pasta, you name it. As long as you cook it with the meal it soaks up the flavor and it tastes great. My kids loved it. I will try this casserole. Thanks!

Would love to see more recipes using canned chicken. We use it to make tortillas and pot pies when in a hurry. So quick and simple- they’re great.
One year when it snowed and as far as I could make it was Dollar General and all they had was canned chicken breast I made chicken and dumplings and they were delicious! Patricia Gambino Harrington

I made this a couple of weeks ago and everyone in my family from age 7 to 77 raved about how good it was. I’m making the dish again tonight.
I made this with a few little changes to lighten it up. I didn’t use the melted butter, but used the water from the canned chicken as the bottom layer. I used skim milk for the biscuit mix and just added 1/4 cup of cheese. Added peas and carrots. Used light cream of chicken soup with the broth. It came out great and reminded us of a chicken pot pie.
Her way is way too much fat
I think you could just add some cornstarch to the chicken broth and eliminate the canned chicken soup. I just don’t like the taste of cream of chicken soup. I always use cream of mushroom as a replacement.

If you put a pie crust on the bottom of the Pan it's more like a chicken pot pie.

Glad some one else has seen quick delicious meals made using canned chicken. I make cranberry pecan chicken salad. A great casserole using can chicken , egg noodles, peas, cream chicken or celery soup,, then top with buttered bread crumbs. Quick week night meals, Right?!

I made this today. My veggie of choice was broccoli. I had a can of cream of mushroom/cream of chicken blend and used that for the cream soup. I think I might change it up with a can of beef and dice up some potatoes and peas to make it a beef dish. Not sure what kind of cream soup I will use, perhaps onion. I will let you know when I do a beef version. I forgot to mention the dish was so very good. Thank you for the recipe.

I think Campbells makes a beefy mushroom soup. You could use cream of Mushroom or cream of celery,
Trying this today. I had to improvise, using a veg medley added shredded cheddar & using canned biscuits..we'll see...❤ just finished. If you use canned grand biscuits, tear them in half. Delicious 😋

If you have extra time, you can sprinkle baking soda on top of the canned chicken, it helps to retain moisture. You must rinse the baking soda off before incorporating, but it has saved me many instances of dried out canned chunk chicken.
This recipe was scrumptious! I used 2 15oz can chicken and increased the amount of chicken soup sauce! AMAZING recipe… Thanks Catherine! ❤

Just use Pillsbury biscuits and sprinkle tops with garlic salt and a bit of any cheese on hand. Easier😊

I make a similar dish. On top I use canned biscuits cut each in 4 pieces. Roll them in melted butter and garlic. Push them into dish to give you wonderful garlicky "dumplins " on bottom an golden biscuits on top. Learn trick with biscuits from you. I believe it was a bubble casserole. 😂

I made this today. Since my husband isn't a fan of peas, I used a bag of frozen mixed Veggies. I also added 1 and 1/2 extra cups of chicken from a roaster as we like lots of chicken. It was so good, I will make this instead of chicken pot pie that I make from scratch. The sauce is fantastic. My husband loves it! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. It was fast and easy to prepare as well as delicious.

4/17/23. - I made this casserole just tonight. It's in the oven. Can't wait to try it. I didn't look at my chicken cans from Costco. They are 12.5 ea. I ended up with more chickenc and I love sweet peas so I used the entire bag. My mother always asked why I never followed the recipe. Mostly I don't pay close attention to the ingredients. LOL. 😅 Thanks!
I like the concept because you can either do it with shortcuts like this or make it more homemade and boost the nutrition and be in control of the ingredients. Looks great.

Made this meal today. Very good! Cut recipe in half, used rotisserie chicken & frozen mixed veggies. Loved the red lobster biscuits. Will definitely make again.

Well I made this today using rotisserie chicken and it's definitely a keeper. Had some company drop by as I was taking it out if the oven so invited them to eat and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. Thanks for continuing to provide us with delicious recipes!

I made this w the canned chicken , Cream of chicken, w Peas n Carrots n I didn’t use the garlic powder in the pkg w Biscuit mix n Oh my it was So , so delicious!!! And It’s fairly easy n cheap! Add Salad n u have a meal! ❤❤❤
I love canned chicken in recipes! I often boil some chicken stock, cook some mixed-up veggies (any kind) in the stock til tender, then toss in a can of chicken. Served with some biscuits for a quick dinner!! This casserole sounds delicious, too!!

I made this on Sunday and it was great. My son rescued a little dog who came all the way from Oklahoma to Rhode Island in a van. The poor little thing was terrified. She was happy with a little dish of your cobbler and was jumping up and down for more.

I used to make a chicken pot pie years ago and I would put a whole wheat canned biscuit on top! Those biscuits tasted so good with the pot pie ingredients! 😚
I love using canned chicken especially when I need something to eat and don't have time to cook a meal. It makes great chicken salad but it's also great in cooked dishes!😘
