@Ivy101 hmm the Base Camp for sure cos I love the vestibules plus the full Rainfly for rain protection. And it feels really spacious for a dome tent too. I hope this helps!
This tent is discontinued and on sale, but you've convinced us that it is a great deal at the low price. I agree, the cons are fixable. Glad to know that, despite the barely adequate rainfly, the tent material itself and the seams are watertight. Thorough review, well done.
Thank you so much James! I really appreciate that 🥰 I’m doing good! Working hard to get more content out soon, and planning for next year too! I hope you’re doing well as well? 😊
Great video! Thanks for all the attention to detail. Do you remember the length of the poles you used in Test 14 to hold up the vestibule flap and turn it into an extended awning?
Thank you so much! 🥰 The length of the poles were about 79 inches or 200cm, that's what Decathlon said they were when I bought them. I hope this helped!
Hi. Thank you for this very useful review. Just bought Skyward 4 and still in process at REI. Hopefully it will reach my country Malaysia soon. Can't wait to try it.
Thank you so much Ed! I really appreciate all your comments and support, that means a lot to me 🥰 oh wow and thanks for the share too!! I didn’t realize you’re from the Philippines. Is the gear you guys use the same as in the states?
@@Ed.Sel74 I hope so too! You're so kind, really 🥰 And thanks for letting me know about the popular brands too! It's the same here in Singapore too haha. Exactly the same brands are popular here. Not so much the other US brands like this REI
@@CampingGuidance supporting your channel. And for others who need more information on the brand and product. Another thing I learned from your channel are the terminologies of the tent parts. Hahaha.
@@Ed.Sel74 Thank you so much Ed! 🥰 HAHA oh dear I hope I managed to get some terminology right. I think some of them I made up myself, like 'guy-out points' and 'latches' or something 🤣
Great detailed review Liz, as always. This looks like a great summer tent. However, trusting it in any amount of rain is pushing the envelope, with that tiny rainfly. My issue is with the vestibule as it slopes upwards, rather than down. That can get the fabric soaking wet, where the rainfly meets the tent, even in the slightest downpour and lead to a leaky tent. However for 4 people, this is a good option in the summer. The pricing though, needs to come down a bit. Naturehike Ango 3 is available for half the price, and that's a pop-up auto tent. Thanks again for a very through review, cheers.
Thank you so much Wer Kar! 🥰 OHHHH I get what you mean! Thanks so much for the super useful input as always. Hmmmm in that case maybe I should definitely have used shorter poles with the awning instead, so I think that was my bad 😅 Thanks for pointing that out! Oh I've never heard of the NH Ango, but it does look good!
hello, thank you very much for the instructions and for the information, you helped me a lot. I’m following you from Azerbaijan, you probably don’t even know this country)) I was choosing between rei co op basecamp 6 and rei co op skyway 4. I decided to buy rei co op skyway and I will receive it soon. For $120, I think I can close my eyes for my lack of income, and to be honest, I’m not going to go camping in the rain and cold. I’ll install it with the help of your instructions. Thank you again, you’re a professional in your field.
Hello! Thank you so much for letting me know, it really means a lot to me that you like my videos and the info 🥰 Oh yeah I think it was recently on sale for quite a bit! It's definitely a good deal for sure, I would have bought it too if I didn't have one already. Let me know how you like the Skyward! And feel free to ask me any questions that you may have! I'd love to help 🥰
Thanks, I was wondering about this tent as I continue my search for a great 4 person tent. I was thinking this was THE one until I saw the rain test. Where I live we get a lot of wind andrain and I immediately thought this had such a tiny rainfly, it would be ahard to keep dry. I like the rainfly to go all the way to the ground. So I'll continue watching your videos until I find just the right one!
Hi again Deborah! Thank you so much for always watching my videos, I appreciate it! Oooh I’ve got the gazelle T4 review coming up, but it’s sadly not that good in the heavy rain and wind too :( small fly problems again. I don’t test a lot of full Rainfly tents cos it’s a little too stuffy for me in the kind of climate I live in, but if I come across any I’ll let you know! 🥰
I had a Gazelle T4 for about 3 years but just sold it. It's a great tent with a removable floor, it was definitely storm proof and awesome for cold weather. I slept out in it at 20 degrees F with a Mr. Heater Buddy and was warm all night. I do think it'll be stuff in your climate but taking the rainfly off in nice weather would help...and it actually keeps out the heat on a really hot day. 90 second setup. But it was very heavy and bulky so if you were setting up more than a couple hundred feet from your car it was tough. I had a foldable wagon that I could transport it on but changed to a Big Agnes Big House 4.@@CampingGuidance

Hello, I’m from Philippines but living in US now. I love your channel, very informative. This is 50% off now, you think it’s worth it, I worry about how small the rain fly?
Hey Nene! Thank you so much and I'm really glad that you like my channel 🥰 Hmm do you plan to camp in very heavy rains? I think for 50% off, the quality is very good.
@@CampingGuidance we just ordered the skyward6 after watching your video how many times. 😉. My husband is tall so the height would be perfect, and looks like it’s easy to set up especially the rainfly. We don’t have a plan to camp in a heavy rain. Thanks for your respond and good luck on your channel.
@@nenegealon7532 Ah okay so I think the Skyward would be a great pick for you! And with the 50% off it's such a great deal. I hope you like it! Let me know how it goes if you have the time 🥰
Hmm price aside, definitely not! This is way better in like all other aspects. Coleman is a budget brand, REI isn't so much a budget brand (hence better quality materials, poles, etc.).
