  • Building a small dry-stone house in the woods using the dry stone walling method. The dry stone walls will be approximately 1,5m tall, when the wall and the fireplace are finished, my plans are to use stones as a floor, then build a bed with trees, and last but not least a roof and a door out of wood. I do have some more plans for this place but that will be a surprise in the future.
    Part 1 (Day 1-3) of this build can be found here: 👉👉 • Building a Small Stone... 👈👈

    Part 7 Day 20-22) of this build can be found here: 👉👉 • Building a Small Stone... 👈👈
    Dry stone is a building method by which structures are constructed from stones without any mortar to bind them together. Dry stone structures are stable because of their construction method, which is characterized by the presence of a load-bearing façade of carefully selected interlocking stones.
    While the dry stone technique is most commonly used for the construction of double-wall stone walls and single-wall retaining terracing, dry stone sculptures, buildings, fortifications, bridges, and other structures also exist.

    Interesante vídeo... Recomiendo vivamente hacer que los aleros del tejado sobrevuelen en los cuatro lados más allá del propio muro, por razones obvias. Pierdes algo de luz pero ganas en confort en cuanto al agua y la nieve, que no tienen contacto con las paredes, y además generas lugares secos donde almacenar leña u objetos . También generar pequeños canales en la parte inferior de las "vigas" que componen el tejado por su parte inferior exterior, para evitar la acumulación de agua en esa zona.

      Sista avsnittet lär bli lika underhållande som det mesta andra du gjort. Har nog sett det mesta av dina grejer här på tuben (även de lite äldre och mer överlevnadsinriktade avsnitten). Jag gillar att du är i en miljö jag själv lätt kan relatera till (jag håller mig oftast i skogarna öster om Gbg och uppåt Dalsland) naturen är ju rätt lik det jag är van vid, så alla tips man får här är ju lätta att ta till sig. If this was a temporary shelter you don't need the tarps, however for a long term build the wood would rot underneath eventually and the roof would collapse. I've seen a lot of experienced bushcrafters use tarps. Well done Adam.

    • @TSMAdventures
      @TSMAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure thing, with moss only I would need a lot of it, and it would also need more maintenance. Moss is perfect for a shorter-term camp but it will dry out on some parts after a while. I was planning to use tree bark and then moss on top but since Emma and I, actually will use this a lot in the future I decided to go with the tarps instead :D
