Editing the footage can be a bit tricky for newcomers, but again the Insta360 Studio app makes it a breeze. In this video, I take you through the basics for capturing and editing 360° videos. They offer a fantastic option to get some footage of you riding!

    Great vid, thanks! wondering if you ever used this set up offroad. was thinking of getting the 360 R to use on dualsport rides, but I'm worried the video will be shaky (not to mention im not sure the camera can handle a fall)

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very light offroad yes, but its not very stable from a mounting point of view. The camera does a pretty good job of stabilising the footage, but leverage is a problem with the camera on a long stick

    Really informative video, thanks. I'm not interested in creating vlogs but I am interested in using a camera like this to record interesting rides and the scenery, but I can't find anything on TH-cam that covers that objective - everyone seems to want to record themselves ;) Would the Insta360 One X2 be good for this i.e. capturing scenery all around?
    GoPro and other single direction cameras are either forward, rear or rider facing only and they tend to flatten steep hills etc. so you lose the perspective.

    • @mancavemoto

    This is an awesome video! Thanks mate. 360 video looks quite easy to do after seeing that. The insta software looks great as well. One question - how are you recording the sound of the bike? I assume its not coming from the insta360 as its positioning would give serious wind noise? Is it possible to record the bike sound using the insta? External mic perhaps?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, the bike sound is coming from the mic in my helmet thats recording my voice. The sound is pretty decent from the INSTA360 at slow speeds, but yep wind noise is a real problem on the bike.

    Great clip! I really wanted to grab this camera but really intrigued to how the post production nightmare would it bring. Turns out its quite simple as you explained it! Anyway I can't help but to notice that your blinkers going on and off during your ride? Or is that just camera. I have CB250R so I know the blinkers stays on during the ride but never flickers when moving

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was the footage we saw filmed just using the shortish handlebar mount system you showed us, or did you have to use a longer stick?

    Been tempted for a while on these. Used the old ricoh 360 few yrs ago but the vid quality was poor... insta360 does seem to nail it ...

      They are getting better, Insta360 seem to be concentrating on the user experience which is a good thing

    Are you using a longer stick to record the video you're editing or the first small one you showed at the begining?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the video i'm editing is with the selfie stick fully extended

    Great video, very easy to follow. I've watched a lot of videos about editing and nothing made sense. Thank you. My question is - What software are you using to merge or stitch the two videos together (GoPro & Insta360 footage) in your last shot. Is it Adobe Premiere Pro?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I was trying to keep things simple. I use Final Cut Pro to edit my videos.

      Thanks for the reply. Any chance you have or can do a video on the use of Final Cut Pro with the merging of Insta360 & GoPro videos. Is there a cost to FCP?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be something to look at. Yes Final Cut Pro is a piece of software that needs an outright purchase, currently it costs £250

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I already use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, so I could upgrade my subscription to include premiere pro. But it’s a while new thing to learn and I’ve already paid for FCP. (It was about £150 when I bought it)

      Ouch, You’re 150 is my $400+. I’m Australia. I’m just wanting to piece to cameras together for some video to put on YT and show the family. I tried the Premiere Pro because various videos showed that software when loading Insta360, But that package is close to $50 per month and very hard to learn. Thanks for you help, all the best with your channel.

    Hi, can you plug the camera into your laptop and download all the files to empty the card whilst on a long trip? Brilliant video btw. It’s my go to video.

    But one question I always have is if the vibration of the motorcycle does damage the camera in the long run? There is a Vibration damper that can be bought but I have never seen anyone use it 🤔 so I wonder if it really is not neccessary?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      No as far as I know there are no issues, the camera doesn’t have ‘mechanical’ anti vibration’ like an iPhone does. These are as robust as any other action cam

    Hi there! Have you had any issues with the clamp chipping paint off of the handlebar? I notice that the bike mount that came from Insta360 didnt have any rubber to protect the handlebar from the mount. Thank you!

    Did you use a mic and the Gopro to record voice while you were riding? I see nothing connected to the One X2.
    I do my framing on my iPad.
    P.S. You answer the sound recording at the end. You also mention phone editing too. THanks!

    I am interested in taking photographs rather than videos, I guess the camera works in the same way for stills. How is the quality of the still files? Is there a possibility to defish the image in the software? Thanks

    Very interesting, have you watched the 360-degree videos that Sven Olsen has recently uploaded of Norway, you can adjust the viewpoint in real-time, absolutely brilliant. I don’t how the editing is done in this case, maybe it just a direct upload?

    Hi quick question I have a dji osmo action and when I record videos it will give me mutiple files like if I recorded a 20 Min video I think I end up with 4 or so files it splits the file after a certain amount of recording cant remember if it's 5min or 10 min then it splits the files. With the insta 360 does it do that as well or no matter how long u record it will be all as 1 file ? Hope u can answer I think im going to get a insta 360 x3

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll check but I’m pretty sure it records it as all one file. Well for the length I’ve recorded clips for. You need to consider that it’s recording two videos at 5.3k so the files can get pretty big!

    • @Grimreapervlogs
      @Grimreapervlogs ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mancavemoto when ever u get a chance to check that would be great. That's one annoying thing about my osmo action recording longer videos I always up with with mutiple clips I need then add together would rather it be 1 larger file with the hole video as 1 file. I don't mind if insta 360 gives 2 clips 1 lower quality and 1 larger size thats full quality

    i havent a clue about editing,can i add another video to the previous video ? also how do you add music?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can, but they is better software for that. This software is more about just editing the 360 footage.
