Bonus tip (this is from my own experience): Experiment with choosing locations on your bike long before you start using it. I own a '22 Super Cub and because of its style, your hard points for clamps are extremely limited. I have had to add my own hard points, like the luggage rack on the back, some "mirror bars" that you clamp phones to attached to the top box rack off the back. I also picked up a center rack that has a bar for mounting things on it, so I have lots of options. I'm sure regular bikes are easier to manage in this case, but you want to try things out BEFORE you hit the road and find out where you've clamped onto isn't good enough or doesn't give you the right angle. I've watched videos of guys using zip ties to hold their sticks down, don't be a cheap SOB. You just spent $300-500 on a new camera, get yourself some proper mounting equipment. This also includes learning to use your clamps properly. I have a double set of clamps and I have learned that when I loosen all six of the clamp nuts, I can swing the selfie stick around all over the place before I lock it in place.
How much record time do you get per battery? How many batteries and memory cards do you take when you ride? How big and what's a good memory card? Sorry for all of the questions, but I am thinking of getting one of these to record when I ride. I might have more questions later lol. Thanks for any info.
You can get about half an hour if fully on nonstop. If you break it up in to smaller videos, that helps both with space and battery usage. That's how I prefer to shoot, but I'm literally leaning over and pressing the button. They make a handlebar control separate for safer shooting, but that could impact the battery. Settings will impact the video size as well. All the best with shooting!
used it for like 50 hours so far, my tips, forget about auto hrd shoot in log (too much artifacts in auto-hdr), buy the quick reader and edit on the phone. the desktop software is a pain. it has no auto-edit.
@@CAGraphics576 you can use any type of clamp bracket as long as you can fasten it somewhere on your bike or simply do as I did and use a hook and loop fastener strip as stabilizer.
changing export settings to 4k in the studio app im told does close to nothing…5k is the 360 degree video…when exported in 16:9 or 9:16 format, you are cropping the footage down to around 1080..and that is why it is default at 1080 unless you export 360 degree footage then it will be 5k…thoughts?
I have one question. I bought the X3 after watching some videos of You. But in my opinion the compression of the x3 is too high and the video quality is not as good as I expected. It looks great on a smartphone but looks terrible on a big screen. Do You know if the 1inch 360RS delivers better results? If this is the case I will switch to this camera. I like the 360 editing. Its only the quality in camparison to my other 4K cameras.
@@tylerandres1078 yes. I'm using the 1inch version and it has better low light footage. I can film in dark environments. It' a little better than the X3 but it also has disadvantages for example the stitch line seems to be a little bigger because of the bigger size and its much more expensive.
Hey, I am stumbling over this video in search of a way to prevent stuttering when filming in very bright light, eg on the mountains. When I pan over a scenery it stutters so much. I have the feeling the camera shortens the shutter speed to not overexpose. At this point with a drone or proper camera you would put a nd filter on to retain the smooth video. Is there anything I can do in the camera settings or in post to get rid of it. Even the most advanced features for retiming in davinici resolve studio (optical flow+speedwarp) don't really help. Does 25fps vs 30fps differ much? I shot everything in 25fps to this point. Cheers!
Agree except with the max bitrate....that just makes your files very large....bitrate at 50 is good enough and you'll be hard pressed to notice a difference between that and max.
They are all excellent tips thank you. I run the OneX2 on my motorbike with the lens covers on, I have replaced them twice now because I've scratched them. I don't trust myself not to drop the camera and damage the lens again. You don't have the lens covers on? Oh I have a sticker on my tank bag reminding me to clean the bloody lenses 😅
Great tutorial video. Question: I was thinking of buying insta 360 but doing some research prior to purchase, I see many comments regarding that the lens on the insta 360 is very easy to scratch. I am mainly using this for motorcycle riding. Any tips or suggestions to protect lenses?
Great input for beginner like me! Thx! Question: Is there any way of making the horizon follow the lean angle? I want the horizon to tilt the same way a standard action cam does
Thank you for the great video’s. They convinced me to buy a X3 for my motorcycle trips. Unfortunately the motorcycle bundle is not added as a gift when ordering via your affiliate link😢 Was this a limited offer or wil this still be possible in 2023?
Hello, if I shoot at 5K 30fps then my camera stops recording automatically after 25-30 mins. Can you please me is there any setting which I need to change
Your series of videos on the Insta360 cameras has been very helpful to me! Question - I currently have no action camera. I'm looking to get a 360 type camera - either the X3 or the RS Twin. Which would be best for me? My personal use only (non-TH-cam) - motorcycle rides and recording slow speed cone maneuvers, recording rides and trips. Also, vacation footage, day trail hikes. Possibly, my girlfriend might also want to use it for a YT channel she's thinking of doing. What are your thoughts? Thanks for any comments and for the great motorcycle content! I subscribed! lol
I dont like the loop recording in these cameras because it's only a limited time. So why is it called loop recording? Loop recording means it is a continuous recording. It overrides the first recording until you reach your destination.
I cannot believe you can save your export settings! OMG! Why have I never thought of this. Every time I export on the insta desktop app, I input 3840 x 2160 🤣🙈 I’ve wasted hours!
Would you recommend the insta360 X3 combined with the RS on the helmet for easy to create footage? Or would you combine the X3 with a GoPro on the helmet? I am just looking to post as reels in insta not YT.
Can you do a full tutorial on the editing on the laptop. I have tried but I'm very basic. Seems easier on the phone app but I have no storage. Thank you.
Bruv the guard is better you can always replace, clean a guard than a lens no harm to the lens less scratches on the lens as well coz being honest someone will definitely be an idiot and touch the lens as he said finger prints and smudges so yeah best option is get a sticky lens guard at the same time. Cheers
I can't find a proper way to mount to my mountain bike that will survive my riding style. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The selfie stick is too weak and flimsy.
Hey Rob...awesome content mate! Are you able to confirm if the x3 can connect to various helmet intercoms via Bluetooth. I've seen a couple of videos that suggest you can, and this would be awesome for vlogging. Cheers mate
For mounting, I use the ram mount with a medium length arm. I mount it to the engine crash cage out of the trajectory of a fall. I additionally use a $20 Amazon metal cage case for the camera itself along eith the x360 branded vibration dampener. Makes for some high quality videos
Man this whole time I was recording in auto not vivid and trying to adjust a bunch of stuff I was getting no good quality I’m switching to vivid and see if that helps
My insta 36o x3 doesn turn on. I dont know what to do to solve it. Any solution? I was normaly filming and it stopped working. After that, it did not turn on again.
Only had mine for 3 days and what I've found is the insta studio does a terrible job of exporting to 4k. Think I'll continue to export at 1080 then use topaz ai to upscale. Also not keen on auto settings on my motorbike ( image is too blurred/mushy around the sides of roads), gonna have to play around with manual shutter settings to keep iso at 100 and get it looking good. Shame there aren't any 360 Nd lenses.
I plan to motovlog a 700 mile trip on my grom with my insta360x2 but I’d like to be able to have audio and I’m not sure how exactly to go about it so that I can use a mic in the videos but whilst editing do a voiceover. Any suggestions on microphone or what program to use so that my video doesn’t suck?

All this camping is getting to me haha
Align sun to the stitching line, so both lenses compute and adjust to the same exposure. Especially when using auto as suggested in the beginning.
