    I subbed yesterday and have been watching a bunch of your videos. I really like them! You have a very simple style that makes it very easy to follow along with your point. And you don’t waste any time with a big long drawn out into like you’re the god of bushcraft. Keep up the great work!!

      Thank you for watching Blackie. The new cup is definitely a good upgrade. It took me a few minutes to adjust to the feel because I was so used to the original but now it is all I am really using. It is just a more practical size. Thanks again my friend!

    Ironically I just purchased a large Kupilka cup a couple weeks ago. Never considered a toggle on it. Looks like I may have to try one out. Thanks for the idea!

    I've heard of wooden Kuksa cups, but this is the first I've heard of Kupilka cups, and I see they're made of a molded plastic, which would be sturdier than wood. Thanks for the toggle carry tip and I will look for them on Amazon. God bless!

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for tuning in Jim! I appreciate your interest and if you pick up a Kupilka cup, I hope you enjoy it like I do. They are very resilient with no maintenance other than rinsing and yet still have most of the feel of a traditional wooden Kuksa. Take care and God bless you as well!

    I'm actually kinda jealous. That kuska I made ended up failing because there was to many worm holes. So I guess I could by one. They do look amazing but I'll probably make one myself :) thanks for the video. - Josh

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that pain Josh! I have had more than one of my creations get ruined due to drying out too fast. I have started to carve dry wood more and more just for that reason. It is more difficult as the wood is harder but with the right woods it is manageable. The beauty of the Kupilka products is they sort of have the feel of a more traditional wood cup without the maintenance and they are basically indestructible. There is something special about using a cup or utensil that you made with your own hands though! Thank you for your interest and tuning in my friend!

      I have cups, bowls, plates and even utensils lol. It is great stuff. The company says it is a composite of 50/50 polypropylene and actual wood fiber. It does have the feel of wood sort of. I love handmade, one of a kind pieces like that:) Thanks for tuning in brother!

  • @alvinkoh5556
    @alvinkoh5556 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have one, while I love using it, but the moment once it comes into contact with oil and butter, you will have a hard time getting rid of the grease even with copious amount of detergent and soap.

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't noticed that being and issue for me much honestly when using the bowls and plates which I do almost daily but at home I will often run it through a dishwasher with no adverse effects. In the field, I just wipe it down after use or use a quick rinse if needed. I will have to pay closer attention to that next use. Thank you for taking the time to watch and to share your experience.

    Can you put it in the microwave?

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not recommended by Kupilka to do so. It does contain actual wood fibers in the composite. I did however do it by accident once and it didn't harm it. (30 sec)

      I truly appreciate that Dale. I do teach a bit in my local area. I have a youth program that I lead and do periodic camps or seminars as the opportunity arises. Late last year I was certified as an instructor through the Pathfinder School and I am scheduled to teach in one to two classes on their schedule in Ohio this year. If I am able to add any other endeavors I will post an update to promote here on YT. Thank you so much for your interest and support!
