I believe the thing with the story is the theme that will help you to succeed or will take you down. As human nature: what I find interesting may be you don"t find it interesting. But in the end I think is about the project. Not giving up because it will be like building a house you do the foundation first and during the construction is not so beautiful and when you finish that project is beautiful. Like you said in the past PRACTICE! And I will say: learn from your own mistakes and you will be ready to succeed!! Thank you, love the view on the videos!
I couldn't agree more, there is just a handful of advertising that taps into the emotions. Its like they don't get it. Story is King!! You have a Fan here in Puerto Rico.
cool to see a more vlog style video from you and what looks like the country area of Sweden, it looks like a beautiful country you live in! story telling is a great subject to explore as it is so multi layered, What you said about not giving out all the information about your story or subject right away but instead switching to something else, allowing the audience to create their own assumptions about the narrative is interesting advice. Something I need to incorporate into the #vanlife movie I am making.
I always look forward to your uploads. You advice for creating engaging content has really pushed me recently to think deeper about what I do and how I go about my work. Appreciate your efforts.
Clever, there was depth of field in the video takes, interesting differing silhouette like light in the last few mins, and also liked the wide expanse shot of the small dog walking through a huge expanse of space, there were these similarities between the the story narration and what the dog was experiencing
beautiful footage! and you are totally right, commercials really lack of storytelling or it targets people in a totally wrong way, but that's more because these people are doing commercials to make money and not because they love to do it! imho
Right, that's why they exist. But I even discover really beautiful commercials from time to time. And there is great stuff out there but I am sure the people who have the ideas are often outside the company, that's what keeps them objective and more funny! :)
Alex Cio I grew with thoughtful commericals, some would make you cry, stop and pause even do a kind thing for a stranger. Big Pharma didn't advertise then, women wore bras over clothes to market them. Nonprofits did make commercials to "announce" themself but not ask for $$ directly..but some were racist and sexist😬
Thanks, this video definitely helped me clarify some of the ideas I have been kicking around about my own documentary. I have been focused to much on the condition they have, rather than the humanizing side. It's a balance. Congrats on the new camera. Looks great.
Haha awesome, thanks for this! I'm still going to keep asking story questions during your Q and A though. I've been going through a lot of character story models like the hero's journey and Dan Harmon's descend and ascend circle, trying to apply them to things relevant to me like a setting or location. Has been a fun process and actually I think it's significantly increasing the quality of my ideas before I've even started storyboarding or filming.

Dude when you use a stock site you have cleared the rights. No need to declare what you’re using. If you don’t want too that is. Don’t be lazy, just run Shazam and it should let you know what track is being used. I always declare if I haven’t bought the rights for the tracks... but that’s a whole different thing. And if I get a humble question of what track I used, I usually answer that as well...
@@Jonnyvonwallstrom - It's not about rights. Its about promoting the artist whose work you have used. So you've proven my point. You Deliberately did not credit the artiste. I am not lazy nor do I need Shazam to find the songs. I hope people slice your videos and documentaries, without crediting you for your hard and dedicated work.

Thanks lanza! Great to hear!
This is very good. Truth advertising is boring and selfish. Thank you for making this series. Looking forward to the rest.
did you miss the samsung "grow up" ad ? if someone really work into it advertising can be good too. and funny.
_Love your aesthetic so much 👍! and_ *STORY IS KING!*
Thank you for creating this video. Your tips were very useful and the view is absolutely beautiful.
beautiful footage!

The literal purpose of ads is to make money.
Right, that's why they exist.

ive seen some emotional ads on vimeo

if you've ever seen Garret J Whites stuff than you'll see how emotional selling should be done.

Congrats on the new camera. Looks great.
The footage you make out of that GH5 is awesome.
I like this style, vloging while exploring to another place, and you speak more natural!
Some great tips, especially about research and finding the right characters. Such a great channel. Keep up the good work!
Didn't like the sun in my face near the end but the rest of the video is awesome. Just watching your vlogs are like watching a short movie!!
Thanks again for another fantastic video and info. Very best to you!
