Frank Sinatra: What is This Thing Called Love (rare, radio, 1950)

More rare Sinatra. There's already a version on TH-cam of Frank singing this arrangement of the Cole Porter classic from the same period, but it's a different performance and this one is in better sound overall. This one comes from Light Up Time on January 13, 1950.

Wow this is a rare gem, a lightly swinging, almost jazzy young Blue Eyes take on a classic, normally ( and masterfully by a Capitol Years Frank a few years after this) sung as a ballad- this mysterious period between Columbia and Capitol( ‘50-‘53) is a very intriguing one for me, as it features Sinatra in prime young, confident, and supremely swinging voice. Love it! 🎙️🍸🎶
