Thanks so much for watching! Happy 20th anniversary to Pokemon Colosseum releasing in Japan! What are some of your favorite memories with Pokemon Colosseum?
Going into EB with my ancient GPA. His bday gift to me was to pre order Colosseum (hello, jirachi). I'll never forget my hype or the love I felt for that man (still do) as he watched my excitement with a bemusement of his own. Love you grandpa.
There's something so heartwarming about knowing that the composer of this game still cares the way the fans do. Tsukasa Tawada uploaded a music video of himself playing the Pyrite town theme for this game's 20th anniversary, and I can't help but smile at that.
The 3 things that lured me to this game was 1. All battles were double battle which was my favorite type of battle. 2. Espeon and Umbreon were made into your starter pokémon which was pretty cool and unique having a psychic and dark type into your starters instead of the usual Fire grass water. 3. The only pokémon you can add in your team are shadow pokémon which are limited which pushes the player to actually experiment with team composition with Pokémon some more unorthodox choices like Misdreavus, Sunskirt and Slugma.
I honestly wish they made more Pokémon games like this. Colleseum and Gale of Darkness are still some of my favorite Pokémon games to this day and they're honestly most likely the reason I'm still a fan to this day.
I wish they finally made a 3rd game to have a trilogy and that the Pokemon that started moving into Orre in the second game would now have Orren regional forms at this point.
My personal favorite game is Moon 1.Cause it’s the first Pokémon game I’ve ever finished (not played,I played alpha sapphire first) and 2.I’m Polynesian so there’s that bias
I do miss the "wild west" era of Pokemon. Nothing was promised. The franchise had to earn our respect. And the gambles they took by throwing whatever they could at the wall and seeing what stuck. This outsourced project would never come close to happening again with modern Pokemon.
Best Pokémon game ever. You have a motorbike, the ability to snatch and love shadowed Pokémon, and a girl friend who I imagine is double battling together with you. It’s so much more mature and felt really nice to grow up playing in my teen years.
One of my favorite facts about Colosseum is that Hiromoto SIN-Ichi, the guy behind the character designs and art direction for Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, also wrote the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi manga. The cool part? He jumped on board with Pokémon Colosseum because the idea of cute and cuddly Pokémon in a gritty Star Wars-esque desert landscape was hilarious to him.
I wonder why it's usually spin offs that are so damn different yet masterpieces in their own right. I feel this same way with Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness.
I drastically prefer Double Battles over single, so I loved Colosseum for that. But it would also take too long to list everything that's great about the games. Instead, I'll just say it's a shame that we're very unlikely to ever see more of the Orre region or a continuation to the Colossseum/XD story.
Colosseum and Gale of Darkness are two of my favorite Pokemon games ever. My sister and I both plugged hundreds of hours into them, both in the story and in the stadium modes, and we would watch each other play through the campaign and talk about it while we played. They were great bonding experiences for us. I really wish they would bring this kind of game back.
I mean non-mainline games. Games that are their own plot-driven stories that take place within the Pokemon world but don't follow the same mainline formula.
I also love these games, very different with a more mature undertone. I will always love these games big big part of my childhood I'd jump for joy if nintendo decided too bless the switch with these games ported I'd rebuy them in a heartbeat. That iconic intro of colosseum always gives me goosebumps even now. Genius Sonority truly an amazing group of people imo. I'd give anything for ports and I know its a long long stretch for another shadow Pokémon game on the switch but ngl if that did happen I'd probably cry ngl.
Can't put into words how much I love these games, I remember I used to rent coliseum from movie gallery back in the day multiple times and eventually buying Gale of darkness from the GameStop next door a few years later. I have coliseum now and I can't believe I own it now due to me renting so much back then. Really wish they continue with that team when it came to more games, game freak could have learned more from them.
I originally played XD not knowing about Colosseum until about 2008 or so. I love these games as well as Pokemon Channel. These games are worth checking out
Despite being... 20yrs old 💀 It still holds up well and does stuff better than their current gen counter parts like battle animations. I love the designs of like everything and the city's/towns, feeling more like towns than most pokemon games. The theme and more mature theme were great kinda playing an anti-hero, it had more potential to grow I wonder if pokemon is too scared to release the series to the switch giving players more acess and why games aren't as good as a 20yr old game.
Fun fact: You can capture shiny variants of every Shadow Pokémon in Colosseum. But fair warning, it’s in no way easy unless you either pick up how to RNG manipulate or want to soft reset 1000+ times. With the help of some friends, I managed to catch a shiny shadow Croconaw, Quilava, and Skarmory.
I've played Colosseum back in the day and I really enjoyed it. Sure there's a lot of points in the game where it tends to spike up in difficulty, especially in the final battle, but those pushed me to come up with better strategies and overcome my opponents to win the day. I especially love both Wes and Rui as the main characters as the former is really cool and badass, especially in the intro to the game, and the latter is another one of my crushes as a kid. Plus, I got to use both Espeon and Umbreon as my Starter Pokémon and I love both of them. Had the game been released a generation later with the Physical/Special split and the new Pokémon, yes, but I still enjoyed them even with the old mechanics from the first three generations.
I just finished the main story of this game for the first time and it is an underrated gem including Wes' character and his starters being eeveelutions which are some of my favorite Pokémon. I'm currently training my team for Mt. Battle challenge mode to get Ho-Oh.
Colosseum and Gale were some of my most played childhood games and im so glad ive held on to them all these years. Still have my Jirachi too and pretty sure that was my first ever preorder. best memories were going to school with my ruby or sapphire and having all the GameCube Pokémon i unlocked traded in.
It's great to see more people acknowledging this game. I still stand by my belief that Cipher is one of the best villain teams out of the Pokémon series. They're one of my favorite villain teams because not only were their uniforms cool and unique, but they also had a lot more variety when it comes to their Teams. None of this "single-type" mook nonsense that the other Teams have going for them. Plus, instead of using some random mystical artifact to control the legends they just CAPTURE THEM and use them against you, something we wouldn't get until Team Plazma.
Its been said 100 times in these comments already but.... Damn Colosseum and XD are so underrated. Its something different. Perfect? No not at all but will forever be some of my favorite games ever.
Thanks SO much for covering this game. Colosseum and Gale of Darkness definitely do not get enough love which is truly such a shame because they're excellent. Awesome video, thanks for covering!
Colosseum is a very good game though the improvement XD made helped a lot. The lack of Pokemon does lead to very limited options. It'd be really cool for a full proper remake with a lot more Pokemon & improvements.
I loved Colosseum. The fact that you start off with Espeon and Umbreon rather than elemental starter, and that they were already level 25 and 26. Or that double battles were an integral part of the game and not just a couple of them sprinkled throughout the game was awesome. I was 13 when the game came out, so I really liked the more mature tone of the game, playing as a reformed bad guy rather than some 10 year old kicked out of his house and told to go on a journey. Unfortunately, I didn't get to preorder it, so I never got Jirachi that way. I had to use an Action Replay to get one. (I don't think I knew about the bonus, and I don't think I actually got Sapphire itself until after Colosseum was released, anyway). The mechanics of shadow Pokemon did get a little annoying at times, where they didn't gain XP and levels as you battled, except that once you purified them they gained back what they should have learned, so you're facing off against stronger enemies with weaker Pokemon trying to purify them through battles. Or how they only have one move, Shadow Rush, which deals recoil damage, until you purify them 1/4 of the way and they gain a regular move back. I don't think I ever got to the point of unlocking Ho-oh, though. I think I finished Mt. Battle but I didn't purify all the shadow Pokemon before doing so.
This game was one of the first I got for when I got a GameCube as a kid along with the Simpsons hit-and-run although now to find a hardcopy it is a very expensive game between 100 150 along with it follow up game being $150-$300
I love this game! I always appreciated how it distinguishes itself from the typical Pokemon formula such as mainly being double battles or having to capture shadow Pokemon. Embarrassingly I didn’t realize you could capture shadow Pokemon until later in the game first time I played it lol. It didn’t affect my enjoyment though (I did figure it out eventually) and it was hype to finally beat it.
This was my first gamecube game (i got it with my gamecube during christmas). I loved this game as a kid. Wes is still one of the coolest MC of the pokemon series. Hovercycle, badass coat, use to be a criminal now a anti hero.
I had the 64 growing up, with Snap, Stadium 2, and Hey You Pikachu. But when my brothers and I wanted another console, we moved onto the PS2, so I missed this game. I would have been about 14 when it came out and would have loved it! I imagine it's a little scary knowing the team making the game had never played the prior games, but these guys knocked it out the park!
If you guys want to try a harder version with updated mechanics like Physical/Special split, Fairy Type and a harder difficulty you should try out the Grand Colosseum ROM hack. Really really enjoyed it when I played it last year
I absolutely love this game. It is a classic. Genius Senority was such a good development company and I'm so incredibly sad they didn't go on to keep making Pokemon games after these 2. These games are great. I'm sad Ninendo never did a double battle only game like this and the sequel again. It was so much fun. I would love for these to get a good remake/re-release on the switch. What I really want is a 3rd game in the series, but I don't think that will ever happen so i really just wanna be able to bye the games on a modern console.
I find it disappointing that in the mainline games, any Pokemon from Orre never mention the region by name, it only says they come from a distant land.
I LOVE these games! They were some of my favorites Pokemon games! I remember replaying the story mode so many times. It was just that fun for me. Sure, I had some annoyances, but it never stopped me from enjoying these games.
Coliseum was such an ambitious idea that was clearly somewhat limited by hardware, and in a generation of Nintendo hardware where every other team has been bringing those ideas home to roost, it’ll never not be at least a little silly to me that Pokemon seems content to quadruple down on undercooking its experiences. Sure it’s a quicker buck, but you are literally THE franchise best poised to understand that offering powerful experiences executed well is the real key to a return.
Colosseum and XD are, next to the Hoenn games, the Pokemon games that defined my childhood. And it breaks my heart that Nintendo and Gamefreak seem to pretend they don't exist 🥲
I never watched a Single Trailer of this game back when it came out. I remember we were in a Gaming-shop and my Dad suddenly came to us with Colosseum and XD in his hands, showing it to us. I have never heard of this games before. But it was Pokemon and I was excited to play it!
I still got my legit Jirachi on my ruby copy from it. We tried for hours to spawn a shiny on a bootlegged psychical rom hack (Pokémon perla Verizon which had Lucario on the cover lol). But never snagged a shiny I gave up when I found one with great IV’s. Between the Jirachi, Milotic (good lord fishing for febass was such a pain) and a shiny crobat, I considered it as complete as it could be for me. A very treasured copy.
I remember my brother was the one to rent this from Hollywood video when we were kids and him just hogging it for that whole time lol so as cool as I thought this was back then I wasn’t fully exposed to it until I bought myself a copy last year and beat it for the first time. Needless to say, this was one of the most difficult and fun pokemon games I ever had the pleasure of playing. Getting my first legitimate gen 3 ho oh was also a massive achievement I was finally able to reach for my 10 year old self(:
Been playing since my dad bought me Blue in a wal mart in 1998. Finished the scarlet/violet part 1 dlc last month. To this day, the region of Orre is easily the most interesting in all of pokemon, and I long for a remake or to revisit the region. if I had the same history w the franchise as I did when Legends Arceus came out, I imagine I would have felt similar feelings for colosseum. Too bad they're both destined to be part of history.
Pokemon Colosseum is one of my favorite games of all time. I have so many great memories with it. When I first got the game I didn't have a memory card so my brother and I played the beginning of the game so many times before we finally either made enough money to get one or we annoyed our mom enough until she got us one
As an adult playing this game after my experiences with Pokemon games (including XD: Gale of Darkness) Colosseum still surprised me with a fun challenge that made me appreciate the Gamecube Pokemon games more. The most memorable fight for me personally was at Agate where it was Umbreon and Espeon vs Shadow Hitmontop and Wobbufett that trapped my Pokemon and was spamming Destiny Bond. Afraid to have either Pokemon knocked out (and not kill Hitmontop with Espeon) I ended up using the infinite Poke Ball glitch as a means to make the most out of Espeon's action while my Umbreon chipped the Hitmontop in small increments. Shadow Tag + Destiny Bond + starring down a Fighting-type Shadow Pokemon was an awkward position to be in, but interesting problem to solve.
I never played it as I was a bit too young at the time and didn't have a game cube, bit I loved what I've watched about the game and wished more pokemon games were like this in tone and scale. We desperately need this these days as far as pokemon is concerned
Pokemon Colosseum was my first entry into the world of Pokemon. I never got very far in the Gale Of Darkness sequel, though, as I grow bored easily when it comes to repeated world designs. I purchased the game out of boredom of watching all these commercials about the various games, but I was not expecting the one thing that drew me into this particular game: The story. With the craze that the TCG still is to this day I was not expecting anything out of the video game except for yet another reason for the children to continue punching each other over who had the best team. What drew me into the game was the variety of creatures, not just the various moves. The strategy needed to win was something that even my father got into as he would watch me play the game and see my occasional struggles against the AI / Bosses. He would also comment on the 'Not Very Effective' notation on the screen even though it would be an OHKO moment. He was drawn into games that required the player to form strategies, to be forced to THINK about what to do next. He was drawn to games like Metroid, for example. After finishing the game I went on to the other games of the series and purchased Pokemon Sapphire for the GBA, and the cartridge still has several of the pokemon I pulled from Colosseum to it. After beating Sapphire I went to Emerald, expecting a completely different game. I grew bored of it very quickly due to it being the exact same game as Sapphire, though, not even progressing beyond the first town. Ever since then, I have played the majority of the games that came out, even managing to locate HeartGold and SoulSilver at a Gamestop. I avoided buying the companion game to the specific generation in question except for the Mystery Dungeons. At one point I even had the Gameboy Player addon for the Gamecube and even the Wifi USB Controller just to get my DS connected. It s definitely thanks to Colosseum that I began my journey down the path of Pokemon games, and I started at a ripe 'old' age of 25. The one game I absolutely refuse to touch, even after trying it on the Bluestacks Mobile emulator, is Pokemon Go. No story. Mindless wandering in the real world. We've all heard the horror stories of those outright idiots who had no sense of self preservation.... After the release of Sword and Shield, I have started to become less involved with pokemon in general. I never advanced further than the second town of Sword. In Arceus, while I was finding the story to be quite refreshing AND amusing in many spots, especially the way they made the defeated 'mon shrink to tiny size an actual canon thing, I just stopped playing and went on to other things. I have not purchased any of the titles that came out after that. They need to make more Pokemon Mystery Dungeons!
And by effort you mean less effort because most of the models and content was just taken from the already made Stadium games, heck the Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon are literally just the N64 models with no improvements, not even to your starters who are literally the models everyone will see the most...
@V-Jes would you say Majora's mask or fallout new vegas had no effort because they both reused a lot of assets from their "predecessors"? The game looks good and runs well. Unlike our current modern pokemon games.
@@MrRandompie Colosseum looks just fine even for Gamecube standards with tons of low quality textures and assets along with tons of small environments that takes lot less effort to make than an entire world like in MM, NV or even in Scarlet/Violet, heck in Colosseum you don't even a full region as you just choose a location from a map screen as that also takes lot less effort to make and even the 3DS games give you a full region to explore and that system struggles to run PS2 games...
I did not expect to see a video on my #1 favorite game of all time to release from Jordan Fringe, but here we are! Pleeeeease Nintendo, let us play the Orre games on NSO, I'm begging you
My biggest gripe with the pokemon games on the switch is that they absolutely could have given us the dynamic attack/getting hit animations and cool ass camera angles that we had in this game but they just didnt. Colosseum and XD are my favorite pokemon mainly because how animated the pokemon are, like when espeon gets hit it flinches then flicks its head back like its trying to brushing the damage off, or how Seedot go goes for a little spin when he gets hit. its those animations that really make the pokemon feel like living creatures in the world and it opens up alot of potential for alot more personality for each pokemon beyond just how they look and the pokedex.
Maaaan, this just brought up memories of my friend coming over and we'd hook our gameboys up to this and battle that way cause it was SOOOO cool seeing our pokemon team in fully 3D at the time. They really need to put these on the Switch. Either a re-release or on the Gamecube online. I dont care.
They should really put this game on the next Nintendo console as well as Gale of Darkness. These two Pokémon games, together with Emerald are the best Pokémon games in my opinion. They were ahead of their time.
I think putting in the hands of developers that had little to no experience with Pokemon was a brilliant move. It allowed them to use a different perspective on the series and present new ideas without having biases or being tied to the original series.
Yeah facts, Violet, scarlet & legends are awful (im not sorry) and sword and shield wernt that great, the lets go series is pretty good though. I want to see a modern version of pokemon stadium or colosseum
The battles in this game where honestly so cool. Double battles with fun animations and intense battle music. If it got remastered I would buy in a heartbeat despite still having my gamecube version.
This is a game I've been meaning to replay on emulator. I would play it on disk but ive unfortunately lost my game over the years and house moves and its ludicrously expensive on ebay
I have such insanely vivid memories of going to my friends house and playing this with him. Never got to own the game myself. Now I probably never will because it’s like $150 or more. But just goes to show you how much value is in a game like this. They really should’ve done a remaster on the Nintendo switch or something. Would’ve made them billions.
I had the game I couldn’t get to my first fight so I just gave it to a friend of mine at school his name was jerry and a lot of people made fun of him cuz he was “round” but he was the nicest kid ever always said thank you even when getting tests at school I genuinely hope he’s doing ok he really changed my character growing up from being one of the bullies to looking at things from a whole new light
I didn't really realize it until recently, but Colosseum's actually my favorite pokemon game. It's definitely not a perfect game or even a perfect pokemon game. But the story and gameplay loop of the main series has always stopped me from beating most of the games lol. I've only beaten Yellow, Diamond, Colloseum, Arceus, and Violet, but I've played every game in the main series to some extent or another. Out of all the games, Colloseum and Arceus have been my faves just because they shake things up more.
God I loved this game. It was like a Pokemon JRPG even felt like final fantasy, and had a much better story than other Pokemon games if I recall correctly.
Thanks so much for watching! Happy 20th anniversary to Pokemon Colosseum releasing in Japan! What are some of your favorite memories with Pokemon Colosseum?
The battle puzzles in XD were always super fun
Loved the vibes and music in Colosseum
the mirror b song. it will always slap.
I loved Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness

A modern Pokemon Colo/XD if it were more like Shin Megami Tensei would be 10/10 but they don't have the stones to make a gritty Pokemon game anymore.

@@rosemolioo9025 hate to break it to you, but sun and moon are some of the worst in the series. play any of the gen 3-5 games and you'll see why.
Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD just proves that GameFreak need to let another studio develop 3D Pokemon games.
And yet I want Genius Sonority to make more Denpa Men games instead.
BDSP was developted by another company
and you know how it turned out this game.
I think it was easier with the smaller roster. The games now are insane. They should do live service for 10 years then come back with a new format.
Genius sonority needs to make another Pokémon game
@@rakugakireporter2164It turned out pretty good actually.

Just replayed Colosseum a few months ago and the fun and animations still hold up!
Currently doing my first Gale of Darkness playthrough!
Well except that walking animation on Wes etc, as he literally looks like his running while being tied to a pole or something...
Colosseums iconic intro always gives me goosebumps even now.
Same here!
Yo have fun with the Gale of Darkness playthrough. As a kid that was my favorite of the two. I also was obsessed with Lugia though 😂
Robo groundon
This game is most likely why some of my fave Pokemon will always be Umbreon and Espion; extremely underrated game
For me they were already favorites of mine so it was more like I got spoiled with them as starters lmao

This game was one of the first I got for when I got a GameCube as a kid along with the Simpsons hit-and-run although now to find a hardcopy it is a very expensive game between 100 150 along with it follow up game being $150-$300
I decided to replay this game and XD again. Those games are still great, and they still hold up even after all these years.
My only problem with colosseum was what felt like a slow level progress.
thank you for making me remember this game it was really fun to play it back when i still had a gamecube
I'm currently replaying this game again for a second time, and it's just as fun as I remembered. Wes is my favorite Pokemon protagonist.
This was my first gamecube game (i got it with my gamecube during christmas). I loved this game as a kid. Wes is still one of the coolest MC of the pokemon series. Hovercycle, badass coat, use to be a criminal now a anti hero.
Love the content. Thank you for the work sir! Makes the days a little more enjoyable seeing your upload
This honestly
Feels like Star Wars meets Pokémon! Epic
I LOVE these games! They were some of my favorites Pokemon games! I remember replaying the story mode so many times. It was just that fun for me. Sure, I had some annoyances, but it never stopped me from enjoying these games.
8:11 it's almost like they were laying the foundation for the nuzlock lol
This game is why Umbreon and Espeon will always be my favorites
Both Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness were 🔥🔥🔥
Coliseum was such an ambitious idea that was clearly somewhat limited by hardware, and in a generation of Nintendo hardware where every other team has been bringing those ideas home to roost, it’ll never not be at least a little silly to me that Pokemon seems content to quadruple down on undercooking its experiences.
Colosseum and gale of Darkness where so much more challenging than mainline games, it really taught me how to battle competitively.
Still my favorite Pokemon game and occasionally pull out my gamecube to do another replay. Can't wait for the video for Gale of Darkness!
This was the time to be a pokemon fan. I vividly remember the sleepovers during the Ruby and Sapphire days man
Ah Colosseum! I played this in my middle school days when it came out. I love that game, i miss playing it.
It’s just a shame that Gamefreak took everything that Colosseum added and threw it all out the window when Battle Revolution came out on the Wii.
Gamefreak didn't do crap
I remember my brother was the one to rent this from Hollywood video when we were kids and him just hogging it for that whole time lol so as cool as I thought this was back then I wasn’t fully exposed to it until I bought myself a copy last year and beat it for the first time. Needless to say, this was one of the most difficult and fun pokemon games I ever had the pleasure of playing. Getting my first legitimate gen 3 ho oh was also a massive achievement I was finally able to reach for my 10 year old self(:
I literally just started playing this yesterday, didnt expect to find this in my sub box
Such a cool game. I loved seeing a 3D Pokemon adventure. Fantastic time playing it as a kid.
They should’ve made more games like this.
I’ve been a huge pokeman fan for years and somehow this one slipped past me. Ive started playing it recently, and oh man is it a blast!
This was such a fun game. Also Miror B’s song is so catchy!
All the music in Colosseum and Gale of Darkness is excellent.
When proper effort was given for 3-D pokemon
And by effort you mean less effort because most of the models and content was just taken from the already made Stadium games, heck the Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon are literally just the N64 models with no improvements, not even to your starters who are literally the models everyone will see the most...
@@V-Jes Yet still more effort and looks better than pokemon games 20 years later....
@iamcll if you use big words like "effort," at least look what that even means kid...
Great video!! Cant wait for the next one.
Thanks so much!
I wonder if Pokémon colosseum and Dx gale of darkness will be on the Nintendo switch because they did it with Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 on the switch
Jordan Fringe I love you so damn much
Maaaan, this just brought up memories of my friend coming over and we'd hook our gameboys up to this and battle that way cause it was SOOOO cool seeing our pokemon team in fully 3D at the time. They really need to put these on the Switch. Either a re-release or on the Gamecube online. I dont care.
I was 11 when this game out. I always thought I was older. There were quests I totally got lost doing
They should really put this game on the next Nintendo console as well as Gale of Darkness. These two Pokémon games, together with Emerald are the best Pokémon games in my opinion. They were ahead of their time.
Orre is one of those regions I'd love to see in another Pokemon game
Sick hand tats bro. The Boos are sick.
GOAT Pokemon soundtrack
I think putting in the hands of developers that had little to no experience with Pokemon was a brilliant move. It allowed them to use a different perspective on the series and present new ideas without having biases or being tied to the original series.
Happy anniversary Pokémon colloseum❤
i'm so upset we never got another game like this after XD, these games were fantastic. It sucks to see where the franchise is now
Yeah facts, Violet, scarlet & legends are awful (im not sorry) and sword and shield wernt that great, the lets go series is pretty good though. I want to see a modern version of pokemon stadium or colosseum
The battles in this game where honestly so cool. Double battles with fun animations and intense battle music. If it got remastered I would buy in a heartbeat despite still having my gamecube version.
Fav Pokemon game and part 2 till this day.
I've always ALWAYS thought that Pokemon Colloseum was so ahead of its time.
Wes was a cool protag
This and xd gale of darkness ill always remember playing as a kid. Miss it man
XD is my favorite Pokémon game next to Emerald. Looking forward to seeing the vid on XD in the future.
Straight up my favourite Pokémon game, would love to be able to play it on the switch.
I loved this game as a kid!
God I loved this game. It was like a Pokemon JRPG even felt like final fantasy, and had a much better story than other Pokemon games if I recall correctly.
I played Pokemon Colosseum, and I remember enjoying it. But I do remember being annoyed with how often I had to go to the Pokemon Center to heal up.
