I even went as Dan for Halloween one year! Dyed my hair brown (I was a towhead blonde as a kid), spiked it, had my mom buy the costume online, and even bought an extra accessory that didn't come with the costume: Dan's Bakugan Holster!!! And I had the BIGGEST crush on Mira, Runo, and Julie, in that order! Also, weirdly enough, was SUPER into Elfin from Season 2 (NOT like that!!!!) I think I liked her as Marucho's primary Bakugan more than Preyas. I just enjoyed her personality more. Which is REALLY weird, since Preyas was basically Deadpool. ESPECIALLY Preyas Angelo and Diablo! But idk. Something about Elfin just seemed to fit Marucho better than Preyas. And of course, the BEST Bakugan of them all: Drago!!!!!! Oh, also, fun fact I didn't learn until about a year ago: Dan's mom is voiced by Alyson Court, AKA the OG Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2!!!! Like I said, I was OBSESSED with this show!!!! Never give up on your childhood. I’m 36 and I still enjoy those things as an adult. Always go by this saying: *”You can remain a kid inside while being a responsible adult.”* 😎👍
Facts me and my bros and a few kids I went to elementary school with were big fans of this show and wwe😂had most of the t shirts when the series first started here in America 😊😊
I was about 8 years old when Bakugan came out and I remember it IMMEDIATELY took over the entire elementary school, like it was scary how quickly it caught on. Every single kid from kindergarten to 5th grade was playing this game at recess, lunch and hell even during during class when teachers weren't looking, these things were constantly getting taken away by the teachers. We had em lined up in the metal parts of the inside of the desk, stuck on cards we taped to our shoulders so we'd be like the characters in the anime, everyone and anyone was ready to throw down whenever. I remember we tried to be so much like the show that we started ranking each other based on how many wins we all had, and once the Doom Card eventually released in the card game, it was over. We had a rule that if you pulled the Doom Card on anyone, any bakugan who lost had to be given to the winning player and it caused so many fights that the game ended up getting outright banned. The game died off shortly after that and everyone started going back to Yugioh and Pokemon, but there were a few of us who kept our bakugan "partners" with us even amidst the bans. I unfortunately lost my partner a few years later when my family moved, and it genuinely broke my heart. I still had all my other bakugan and all my cards but it just wasnt the same without my 520g Pyrus Drago and I too fell out of it around the third season of the show. I did recently buy another copy of my old buddy off of ebay, and while its not the same one that I used to destroy my friends with, it's still a very nice reminder of the best few years of elementary school.
Same age as you, and Bakugan got banned because someone’s box of Bakugan at our elementary school got stolen. The anime (so good), and those memories are just so nostalgic. I also got into Ygo, Pokemon, and Chaotic when Bakugan kinda died. Did you ever get into Silly Bands?
I think the biggest problem with the IP was that the game itself wasn’t very strong. The toys were cool but no one was interested in playing the game so it didn’t have much staying power.
The Gen 2 game was super strong. It was a proper TCG. And Bakutech, which was essentially the Gen 1 game, but with more focus on rolling, was super fun. The Gen 3 game is miserable
i used to be really into it but fell off around 2012 cause i rediscovered chaotic and was trying to get my friends into it. a little story: I was playing D&D at a game shop when i got up to get a snack. when i paid i noticed a closed up bakugan on the counter. i asked how much it was and the shop owner said i could just have it. they couldn't figure out how to open it and it didn't have any cards so they didn't know what it was and couldn't price it (and they didn't have a market for it in the area). some guy had come in and just left it there when they told him they couldn't buy it from him. and that is how i got my one and only Bakugan- Ventus Juggernoid (i affectionately call him jug head).
As a kid growing up loving Pokmeon and Yuigoh back in the start of their runs as a kid. I also fell in love with Bakugan I always loved the idea behind the irl mechanics of the game and always wanted to give it a try. Only reason I couldn't was because I could never find a proper gameshop that supported it near me to truly buy any of it. Bakugan though was highly enjoyable for me and loved waiting for a new episode each week though, I even loved the reruns. Theme song was catchy as well.
While I'm aware that the game/toy aspect has somewhat improved over the years, they will never be able to replicate the awesome vibes and primal, fantastical elements of the original. Also Preyas (AKA Bakugan Deadpool) is irreplaceable.
Isn't that a fact? I was more confused at how her attire never changed, but then remembered that the mask was broken - and everyone knew from that point onwards (Funnily enough, this is the only episode I remembered)
I still remember the show, specifically the first season, tried its best to avoid anything related to death, but failed to do so cuz some scenes were pretty obvious.
A very interesting marvel of a series, ran for an absurdly long time, got very popular, even had 5 story arcs and 4 seasons of the original anime and a reboot years later, would never had expected this if I was introduced to bakugan today as opposed to years ago
I remember watching each and every episode as it came out for every season in elementary school. It truly made my childhood, especially collecting the toys and cards.
Honestly, Bakugan was such a breath of fresh air for my TCG addled brain. It wasn't just slapping down cards and reading text boxes. It felt like a real brawl. Though I fell off the game pretty quickly coz I never learnt the rules!
I absolutely loved this show as a kid, I was 12 years old, when the show was first airing on Cartoon Network, which is absolutely crazy to think about. But the OG series was amazing, I loved the story and characters. I don't think they can replicate how amazing the OG series is, no matter how many times they reboot. It was just something special.
season 2 was great literally a whole new world to explore and kept the og spirit having the characters mature and 3 was gold giving us the best world building and so much lore and acient history not to mention it had a good premise season 4 was alright and gave dan more depth and had him struggle with inner evil and eventually growing up
@@drybonesmunchakoopas5143 season two I enjoyed as much as season one I loved the setting and the characters and give more details about its setting and lore.
Bakugan is one of THE best things to ever be created in my opinion. It will always be a part of me. I remember watching the very first episode and finding out who Masquerade was. The first season will always be the best one. This show is just too good and the story is near perfect. I love you Bakugan.
Man I grew up with this show and I remember collecting so many of them! It as too bad that the story became so confusing to follow after the first season/series
I remember this. It stands as a show where the main character and the female lead actually get together unlike shows like Pokemon, Yugioh, Beyblade, etc. Then there's the show reminding us Shun is a ninja every time the camera points at him.
I remember watching Bakugan Battle Brawler in the morning while I was getting ready for school. This video brought a lot of memories of my childhood, including having memories of playing with beyblades while I was a kid at the start of 2010.
My brothers had Bakugan years and year ago and I thought they were awesome.. So a few weeks ago, one of the kids at work had a Bakugan that she opened by throwing on the floor, so I asked to look at it, gently placed it on a seemingly random spot and it magically opened.. I love impressing kids with the magic of obscure knowledge and magnetic nails..
I love Bakugan! I haven't watched the reboot or the re-reboot yet, but I loved watching the original as a kid. Still collecting the toys today and I hope that someday Sega Toys will give back the OG designs back to Spin Master. It'd be great to see Skyress, Peryas, and Elfin (and the others, obviously) again in the new generation.
Bro you are actually my favorite TH-cam channel right now. Like legit you are helping prolly not just me get thru a time that's not the best for some 😅 Just wanna say thanks for giving me and other's company 🙂
You have no idea how much Bakugan means to me. It was my whole life from 2008-2012 and onwards. How could you not know about Bakugan?? It was everywhere and I collected every toy, card, video game, pluses, battle gear, figures, watched every season and episode, the list goes on.
I freaking LOVED watching that show everyday before school man just like with Pokèmon, Yugioh 5D, and Beyblade Metal Fusion. Now, Bakugan being one of my main favorite series back at the time, I had loved it so much I had started playing with actual toys from the series. I got my first pair, mainly being Drago and dome other guy who I can't recall but it was on that fateful day or time period where I had brought my toy with me to school (elementary) and talked to the other kids who were also into the series of Bakugan... I had met one person this kid who we had a deal in trading each other our bakugans after who'd win in a duel after school, I had won but lo.g behold the kid had tricked me and I had got scammed that day way back when I had traded him my Drago for some pry mantis character and a dark dragon i believe? 🤔🤔🤔 Idk it was a very foggy but vivid memory as I remember it now I was like 7 or something, bro got me good with the scam after school 😅 it was more of a oh i don't like this one, you take that and give it back kind of idea too maybe? Eh I was dumb, and probably made some stupid silly decisions back then giving it to that kid who ran off with drago... I lost him that day 😅 sorry Drago 😔🕊️🕊️🕊️
I personally got into this because my school had one of those groups of nerds that would kinda hide around the corner from the teachers during recess and they were playing Bakugan. I watched them a few times, got a set of my own, and THEN got stupidly into the anime. And it was a blast! It also helped me mentally at the time. Near the end of that year, I broke my arm. One thing that helped me at the time was I had a keychain toy clipped to my sling that I took everywhere and fidgeted with. And it just so happened to be a Haos Preyas the size of my fist, with a little pull lever on the bottom to release the latch in place of the magnetic release and it even had a working element change dial. Loved that thing, wish it hadn't gotten tossed when it broke off the chain.
I Remember watching this before Going to Middle School back in the Day and played the Nintendo DS version of the Game when it used to be so popular unfortunately as a 26 year old Man all these years later I never get the chance to finish it so I'll probably get back into it for nostalgic reasons. Lol
I remember two things about Bakugan during my childhood 1: Me having a crush on Dan and 2: Throwing those toys like the characters in the show and it hitting my brother in the face. Nothing but amazing memories
I could never forget bakugan. Not only did I play it all the time with my friends as a kid, both at school and at home, but I still have most of my collection too
I'm surprised Drago didn't become a meme because of all his transformation. I feel like when it comes to non-human characters in anime Drago breaks the record for most transformation across the same continuity.

This was my childhood. I remember waking up early every morning just to watch it. Also i remember the entire opening cause it went that hard. "What are you gonna do? The odds are stacked against you. Back against the wall, you gotta give it your all. This the final stand. The powers in your hands. Two worlds collide on the inside. You gotta fight for what's right, before its gone gone gone. This is Bakugan." Damn I wish there was more to the original iteration of this show. I also haven't seen the new version but I am considering it. And final favourite og bakugan is a tie between Laserman and Mantris and my first owned bakugan was pyrus Fear ripper
I loved the original series and even today I still hold it very dearly. Even collected the Bakugan toys but never really got into the game outside the school yard as a kid. Some of the recent changes they made haven't resonated with me but I can hope it still gets people into the franchise and enjoy it
Ah, the nostalgia! I had three Bakugan as a kid. Never watch the series before, or even knew of it... But damn! was I proud of these cards and figures. And because of this video, I just found out, I had the main(?) red one. Probably not rare or anything, but I think, it's a nice fact. (I think, I gotta get one again, just to have that memorie in my living room-)
Bakugan was my thing back in 4th though 7th grade had the t shirts and toys my oldest brother used to buy me a few at a time for Christmas back in the day thankfully they were cheap new episodes on Saturday mornings back then used to watch it while getting ready for school in the morning seasons 1 through 3 i still go back and watch here and there 😊😊 was 9 when this series first started I'm 26 now
Still a fan. And thanks for respecting this show. I honestly don't like generation 2 of bakugan and haven't seen generation 3 but I still rewatch g1 of the original show that you just reviewed. I still own the first 2 video games and my toys. So thanks for respecting this show.
Bakugan was the shit back in the day. I remember back in second grade when on Saturday afternoon I saw one of the first commercials. My seven year old mind had no clue what it was but it immediately registered in my brain as awesome.
As someone who watches Bakugan videos on TH-cam whenever I see them because I watched it as a kid, I never forgot Bakugan and I still have a collection of old toys in my closet.
as some one who grew up with the show I didn't really mind them doing a reboot after so, so, so many seasons with original cast and plus how the original show ended was literally Dan and Drago taking off on a boat on a "new journey". So, where I am at is that Dan's and Drago's story is done especially with all the shit they went through to get there.
I remember watching this show but never was able to keep up regularly because I never knew when it aired. The theme song is a banger. I recently watched it in its entirety thanks to Tubi.
Its weird how i got so many bakugan toys, i played bakugan games on nintendo and i watched the show, but somehow i dont remember this show that well. It hasnt nearly made the same impression as Pokemon. I did like the game aspect more than pokemon, even though having the Pokemon cards was the main pull
Man after seeing this video brings back some fun times I had playing bakugan with my friends back in middle school. Thank god I kept the collection I made when I was collecting them I might try to see if any of my friends want to binge want the original series for new years
I also remember there was a game. I think it had the same name as the show, as a kid I thought it was really cool and challenging as well. They also let you kinda design a character and gave you a cool unique Bakugan, I think it was smth cool-sounding, like Leonidas.
I grew up watching this show! It was really the first show I ever remember watching, I was around 4 or 5 at the time. I adore the original series, and while none of the sequel series ever really grabbed me (I watched New Vestroia but only caught bits and pieces of what followed, and didn't know anything about the 4th season), the original episodes will always hold a special place in my heart. Also, the twist with Masquerade was the first time in my life I had ever experienced a plot twist, and sometimes I'll go back and watch that moment and still get goosebumps. So good, child me had no idea! ALSO, Bakugan for the DS slaps, I'll still play through it occasionally to this day, it was the first video game I ever owned
I'd like to point out that Klaus, the rich guy with the mermaid bakugan, Sirenoid, had a "collection" of bakugan in a glass display, and remember, every bakugan is a living, sentient being, and Klaus just has them displayed like a big game hunter, and Sirenoid is just okay with this
Bakugan season 1 was very cool according to my personal choice because mostly bakugan was inspired by mythical creatures and that season look like game
When I was a kid my grandmother had this really old TV that was a TV and a DVD player at the same time and it was a HEAVY ass TV (this information is important) When I was a kid I had a Bakugon DVD that I watched repeatedly on that tv While I was watching the Bakugon DVD I was so hyped from my favorite moment that I was rocking back and forth excitedly, this was enough force for the TV to tip over and fall right on top of me I was a small child, this is the type of TV to break bones in the right condition and it scared the absolute mess out of me, I had to struggle to push the TV off of me and I continued watching Bakugon like nothing happened Now every time I see Bakugon I associate it with a TV falling on me lmao Thanks for reminding me of a core memory
I had so many Bakugan when I was younger. You could get these see through cases for them that and I had two of them full to the brim and more in bags. Didn’t have a clue how to play the game and neither did any of my friends but we just pretended that we were the characters from the show. When I finally got Drago I literally asked my parents to buy me fingerless gloves so I could be Dan. Been meaning to get back into it now (even though I’m in my 20’s and have a full time job) and actually learn the new game mechanics so I can play myself

Facts me and my bros and a few kids I went to elementary school with were big fans of this show and wwe😂had most of the t shirts when the series first started here in America 😊😊
Oh god... I need to rewatch all seasons, NOW!
@@BoboArcheroh chaotic……I remember that gem
That was beautiful
I think the biggest problem with the IP was that the game itself wasn’t very strong. The toys were cool but no one was interested in playing the game so it didn’t have much staying power.
It had 4 seasons before ending
It had some staying power at least
Fun fact, the same person that voices Dan is the same person that voices Yang from Yin Yang Yo.
And Owen from Total Drama
While I'm aware that the game/toy aspect has somewhat improved over the years, they will never be able to replicate the awesome vibes and primal, fantastical elements of the original.
Also Preyas (AKA Bakugan Deadpool) is irreplaceable.
Same, Elfin was awesome too, she was basically the Bakugan version of Sailor Moon
Alice as Masquerade caught me off guard at first when I watched this show... Then the rules starting getting weirder as New Vestroia emerged.
I think mechtagun surge is the weakest season
Isn't that a fact? I was more confused at how her attire never changed, but then remembered that the mask was broken - and everyone knew from that point onwards (Funnily enough, this is the only episode I remembered)
I still remember the show, specifically the first season, tried its best to avoid anything related to death, but failed to do so cuz some scenes were pretty obvious.
Yea dubs of anime tend to censor stuff alot
Season 1 and two top tier amazing writing and story. Then it goes downhill
Oh and it got reboot TWICE
Personally I liked the first two seasons three and four are ok but the two reboots are ehhh.
season 2 was great literally a whole new world to explore and kept the og spirit having the characters mature and 3 was gold giving us the best world building and so much lore and acient history not to mention it had a good premise season 4 was alright and gave dan more depth and had him struggle with inner evil and eventually growing up
@@drybonesmunchakoopas5143 season two I enjoyed as much as season one I loved the setting and the characters and give more details about its setting and lore.
@@OmegaKatanaXIII I also liked it. For me my 2 favorites are 1 and 3 and 2 is a close second
This and Ben 10 was an insane addiction as a kid
Okay Bakugan was EVERYWHERE in Canada and it being the testgrounds for it makes that make sense
My nephews just showed me their Bakugan, I had never heard of them before and now I see this a couple weeks later!
TWO WORLDS COLLIDE, ON THE INSIDE!
I remember watching Bakugan Battle Brawler in the morning while I was getting ready for school. This video brought a lot of memories of my childhood, including having memories of playing with beyblades while I was a kid at the start of 2010.
How can one forget such a banger opening
The two reboots aren’t that good compared to the og series.
Bro you are actually my favorite TH-cam channel right now. Like legit you are helping prolly not just me get thru a time that's not the best for some 😅
Just wanna say thanks for giving me and other's company 🙂
*"What are you gonna do?"*
Bakugan was the brand I preferred to Pokémon when I was much younger
I could never forget bakugan. Not only did I play it all the time with my friends as a kid, both at school and at home, but I still have most of my collection too
Ive actually watched the newest reboot of bakugan, and I enjoyed it a lot, am excited for season 2
you are one of the best content creators im so happy i can relive the best parts of my childhood through your channel and your hard work!
I'm surprised Drago didn't become a meme because of all his transformation.
I feel like when it comes to non-human characters in anime Drago breaks the record for most transformation across the same continuity.
I think Goku still has him beat

Literally been rewatching the series, thanks for doing this video!
You should do a retrospective on bakugan on the whole series.
The way that this video was so beautifully structured and how the information given was SO good is mind blowing...I ADORED the anime and the Nintendo DS game I collected a few toys as well this franchise was so good from the very start
I loved this show so much when it came out on cartoon network I was so into the card game too, I even had a drago key chain on my bag for college to this day 😂😂 I loved this version of the show and it was what I watched over pokemon (until xy) and all the other popular stuff like yu-gi-oh etc and as you said the theme song was so good 😂
This was my childhood.
This is Bakugan."
Damn I wish there was more to the original iteration of this show. I also haven't seen the new version but I am considering it. And final favourite og bakugan is a tie between Laserman and Mantris and my first owned bakugan was pyrus Fear ripper
I loved this show so much when I was little
Watching 13 days Fringemas and revisiting some of the 25 days of Fringemas I enjoyed much last year is great
Would love to see you go more detailed about the original series 🔥🙌🏾
Something I love about this channel is that it answers all the questions I have for tv shows I didn't watch as a kid.
What a blast to the past
I loved the original series and even today I still hold it very dearly. Even collected the Bakugan toys but never really got into the game outside the school yard as a kid. Some of the recent changes they made haven't resonated with me but I can hope it still gets people into the franchise and enjoy it
Ah good time back then with this show
The Bohrok from Bionicle is the only sphere shaped toy one would ever need. Truly the ultimate Bakugan.
I was personally more of a beyblade kid growing up.
While it was the metal series which I can agree was also goated
Oooooh, bringing up another good one!
I can't ever forget beyblade
Ah, the nostalgia! I had three Bakugan as a kid.
Never watch the series before, or even knew of it... But damn! was I proud of these cards and figures.
And because of this video, I just found out, I had the main(?) red one. Probably not rare or anything, but I think, it's a nice fact.
(I think, I gotta get one again, just to have that memorie in my living room-)
Let's be real. How many people actually played the card game? I just wanted to play with the Bakugan themselves.
So underrated! I loved this show.
Anyone else have the ds game
Me
Bakugan was my thing back in 4th though 7th grade had the t shirts and toys my oldest brother used to buy me a few at a time for Christmas back in the day thankfully they were cheap new episodes on Saturday mornings back then used to watch it while getting ready for school in the morning seasons 1 through 3 i still go back and watch here and there 😊😊 was 9 when this series first started I'm 26 now
Gotta love the ten watermark in the corner, I don't watch TV much anymore so I don't see it very often.
Still a fan. And thanks for respecting this show. I honestly don't like generation 2 of bakugan and haven't seen generation 3 but I still rewatch g1 of the original show that you just reviewed. I still own the first 2 video games and my toys. So thanks for respecting this show.
Im getting so much bakugan in my feed nowadays it makes me miss the old days with the og game pieces characters and the video games
Honestly still find myself humming some of the OST to this day. Soundtrack's a gem
2:29 man that ep with Shun's mom made brought tears 😭
The theme song was TOUGH!!! “2 worlds COLLIDE, on the inside…” 🎶🎼🎶
as some one who grew up with the show I didn't really mind them doing a reboot after so, so, so many seasons with original cast and plus how the original show ended was literally Dan and Drago taking off on a boat on a "new journey". So, where I am at is that Dan's and Drago's story is done especially with all the shit they went through to get there.
I love this show and i never skip over the intro song it's epic.
This was one of my fav Saturday morning cartoon growing up: monsters, good characters, and TWO WORLDS COLLIDE
I remember watching this show but never was able to keep up regularly because I never knew when it aired. The theme song is a banger. I recently watched it in its entirety thanks to Tubi.
Literally have the theme randomly start playing in my head over a decade after the last episode I watched.
BEST. INTRO. MUSIC. EVER!!!
The goat that’s why he’s the goat childhood bruh me and my sister were obsessed this show Dan & Drago is the goat and this series has a decent reboot
Ah man I am going to rewatch this again; thank you for the review Jordan!
Omg, my favourite show as kid with my favourite TH-camr now. Awesome!
I'd like to point out that Klaus, the rich guy with the mermaid bakugan, Sirenoid, had a "collection" of bakugan in a glass display, and remember, every bakugan is a living, sentient being, and Klaus just has them displayed like a big game hunter, and Sirenoid is just okay with this
The twist with Masquerade still lives rent free in my head.
Bakugan will always be my best cartoon i still hope they will return soon
I hope they will remake OG bakugan again 😢
@@sametyldrm8837 they should continue the story
@@quotes218 I hoping so because reboot is very childish
Bakugan season 1 was very cool according to my personal choice because mostly bakugan was inspired by mythical creatures and that season look like game
When I was a kid my grandmother had this really old TV that was a TV and a DVD player at the same time and it was a HEAVY ass TV (this information is important)
When I was a kid I had a Bakugon DVD that I watched repeatedly on that tv
While I was watching the Bakugon DVD I was so hyped from my favorite moment that I was rocking back and forth excitedly, this was enough force for the TV to tip over and fall right on top of me
I was a small child, this is the type of TV to break bones in the right condition and it scared the absolute mess out of me, I had to struggle to push the TV off of me and I continued watching Bakugon like nothing happened
Now every time I see Bakugon I associate it with a TV falling on me lmao
Thanks for reminding me of a core memory
Started watching it then it just dropped off my radar, may give it another try
I had so many Bakugan when I was younger. You could get these see through cases for them that and I had two of them full to the brim and more in bags. Didn’t have a clue how to play the game and neither did any of my friends but we just pretended that we were the characters from the show. When I finally got Drago I literally asked my parents to buy me fingerless gloves so I could be Dan. Been meaning to get back into it now (even though I’m in my 20’s and have a full time job) and actually learn the new game mechanics so I can play myself
As a Canadian im really glad this show and the toys blew up because that shit was so much fun to play and watch
