Maybe if Shab1 did some research they would be able to realize there's no trainer using Mewtwo in Yellow. They probably meant Stadium, but even there, Mewtwo isn't controlled by a trainer, and that's a battle simulator spin-off. (Gen 1 never even played the game, but checking your facts is easy and takes little time huh?)
while we're on the topic it is bizarre how a pokemon who is known for its violent and savage heart was NOT a shadow pokemon (no i dont count pokken mewtwo, that's not the same. even if i still love it). like mewtwo wouldve been my first pick for a shadow pokemon simply BECAUSE it is already a natural fit for the pseudo-type.

Saw this letsplay eons ago, the it doesn't affect MIsdreavus gag was hilarious and Evice being a complete donkey in the final fight by using an X item baffled me when the AI was going to win.
I am still appalled that a pokemon game all about double battles and with limited pokemon to catch would give you a Plusle and never a Minum to pair with it. The one game where that ability might matter to the player and they squander it.
The thing you need to know about Dakim is he is meant to be an average Arizona man. Once you understand this his sudden legendary use and constant spam of Earthquake makes significantly more sense.
5:47 - In Pokemon Colosseum, the catch rates are different from the mainline games. Using the same catch rate calculator from dragonflycave that you're using in the video (with Entei's HP set to 1 with Sleep status), there's an option to select if the Pokemon is a shadow Pokemon, so it's actually a 23.416% chance of being captured under those conditions. It's still really tough (and it'd be challenging in itself to get Entei into those conditions), but it's technically not as bad as what it would be in a mainline game.
@@costby1105 That's fair. I assumed the video creator accounted for damage you could've done because theoretically, even with less than ideal Pokemon, you could've done some type of damage to Entei, so I definitely misunderstood that point.
I remember watching my older sister playthrough Colosseum as a kid(we didn't realize it was a single player game because we were dumb)she definitely struggled badly vs Dakim. Considering how much of a difficulty spike he is it makes sense. Earthquake + Protect combo in the first double battles focused Pokemon game, not to mention Entei's level and high BST, was quite the hurdle for a kid to overcome. It did not help that my sister only bothered training up Umbreon, Espeon and Plusle(she thought it was cute). She did use shadow Pokemon as well, but since a lot of them suck and all they knew was Shadow Rush they weren't much help. Also, Trails in the Sky music used for BGM found in the wild. Booyah!!!
i lowkey loved using yanma in my last colleseum run. gave it the solarbeam TM and had it detect the turn sunnyday was being setup. also wing attack for stab on an adamant yanma like bro stayed on the squad I love the little guy.

I found the first mirror b boss to be much tougher. The fact you were locked into using only having 2 of your pokemon being able to level up. Not to mention that there weren't great options to take advantage of ludicolo's weaknesses. So without level grinding the battle easily becomes a war of attrition thanks to rain dish
I'm surprised to see Umbreon in your mid tier and Skiploom in the upper tier... (Of course, after thinking about it, your tier list is for speed running as opposed to a casual playthrough...) Personally, I'd put Skiploom in the "Does not do anything" tier because every time I tried using it, it never had enough bulk to tank anything, never had enough attack/special attack to deal significant damage, and it was rarely fast enough to out speed a target for anything status related. On the other note, before... ...I think it was gen 8 when they purged the toxic move pool... Anyway, in this game, you can teach Umbreon Toxic, which combine that with Confuse Ray and his general bulk (plus moonlight after levels,) bro is a BEAST! But yeah, that's just my personal opinion. I always got Bayleef because it's my favorite Johto starter and I don't trust Jumpluff's line for squat. *ALSO! In regards to Dakim's difficulty, you didn't really go in depth for catching it outside of the speed run strats, because that dude is TOUGH! Not to mention it might KO itself with Shadow Rush! (Of course, that not exclusively an Entei problem, but it does make the lower catch rate much more painful!) But yeah, this was my first Pokémon game I ever played, so I'm definitely gonna stick around even if I'm not into speed running! Great vid! Keep it up!

I feel like if Colosseum were to get a proper remake with modern mechanics & a lot more Pokemon it'd do pretty well on the Switch. Imagine something like Grand Colosseum & maybe they could add in battle gimmicks like: megas, Z-moves, Dynamax, & Terralization
Subbed! I loved Colosseum as a kid (I was in middle school when it launched, haha), and this is super neat to see. Also I chose Quilava as my Shadow Starter without knowing any of this stuff, because I have EXCELLENT taste.
I once played Colosseum with only 1st stage Pokémon. The worst part abt the battle against Dakim is that Colosseum only has 5 first stage Pokémon available without trading (Makuhita, Slugma, Remoraid, Meditite and Swablu). This battle was a nightmare

Tbh when I attempted to nuzlocke this game, this fight right here was one of the scariest in the game for me since I went in blind ish a part from the final 2 fights (I knew that the admins had legendaries and 4 mons out of 6 of the final boss but thats it). Protect would've been really useful to have here but sadly you unlock it after this fight. Also this fight was SO MUCH harder for me since I lost Mantine due to explosion/self destruct the fight before this one

yep! for example Venus always leads with Delcatty but Steelix/Vileplume/Banette are random and Suicune is always last there's a lot more but i'm not sure if there's actually any documentation on it besides the speedrun notes i use, i might make a digestible sheet of it one day who knows
I didnt know that you could purify shadow pokemon before the Dakim fight so i always went in with the two eeveelutions plus a team of shadow pokemon locked at their original levels I think i led with Umbreon and Croconow to bite the metang and surf away the golem I also used Mantine and quagsire for bubbleam and surf and skiploom for giga drain and espeon to deal special damage
Considering Colosseum is a side game, we can infer that Lorelei is the first "Boss" to use a legendary as she has an Articuno on her team in Pokemon Stadium when fought in the Gym Leader Castle. That being said, I'm more than willing to admit Stadium isn't exactly a tour de force as a challenging game. So having Dakim listed as a legit boss who is the first in the series to use a legendary is acceptable. Edit while watching: BOOYAH!

I mean Shadow Entei at 100% hp with no status using an ultra ball has the same catch chance a normal Entei with 1HP Asleep with an Ultra ball.

entei is pretty strong but he would've been stronger if he used MEWTWO... just something to think about!
It would be absurd to use Mewtwo in such an early stage of the game and Mewtwo doesn't fit Dakim's aesthetic or playstyles.
At least Earthquake only does 50% damage in double battles in gen 3 so it makes the battle easier.
