Quick build projects are insane. I did first aid once. The "safety" team was mostly just elders with zero skills or knowledge. A sister came to first aid once. She had been washing dishes in the food service section all day. With bleach. With her bare hands. Her skin was coming off her fingers. I had no idea what I could do for her in a first aid trailer. I rinsed the wounds, but her finger skin was just paper thin from the harsh chemicals with no gloves (that the safety morons should have told her to wear if they had half a brain). I said she needed the ER. They didn't want to take her. They couldn't understand that she needed a hospital. Finally she went despite what they said. Insanity. So many egos on these projects that are dangerous to the wellbeing of the friends.

My parents are in a retirement home with JW neighbours on either side of them and there are many other JW’s living there. They hardly talk to or visit each other.
I helped build the first ICF house here. When they tore down the local Salmon Arm BC Canada KH I suggested to put in the standard black roll-on subsurface protector. Was told rudely by two elders to mind my own business. The bugs and worms eat the styrofoam. Plus the hall was built on a former natural wetland at the base of the mountain. The water capillarities up the walls and rots the drywall. That was a big reason why they decided to tear down the old hall. No cure for stupid. Plus they are environmental destroyers of the essential functions of wetlands, those important nurseries of life. Ruiners of the earth 🌎 is the reality. They used to laugh about the ducks and geese wandering around looking for their lost home. A seriously bad attitude problem.
It was hypocrisy for sure. They hated my environmental concerns, because it’s really all about the money for them. That elder standing beside during a WT slightly off topic, chastising me with a long diatribe about how we have to wait on Jehovah. Then presto everyone will be behaving themselves, and instant paradise. The catch phrase ‘make good use of the unrighteous riches’ was an excuse to indulge in hedonisms to me. The Bad Boys Builders Club in the congregation organized extreme sports. Notably the Sledding events on Boulder mountain where some died or got severely injured, as they triggered an avalanche.

What kind of worldly education could you have by age 19? Are you allowed to leave full time education at 16 in Sweden or Norway as well? That was school leaving age in the UK when I went to school and was the usual age for working class children to leave school. Only the occasional child continued education until 17 or 18 at school followed by further education in working class areas even though most children stayed at school for a year or two longer in better/more affluent areas before going to college or university. I think you are only allowed to leave at 16 here now if you have an apprenticeship or the like to go to. I left not long before my 16th birthday as I had an apprenticeship but they had problems with me and insurance, operating equipment and even getting things like railway cards to travel away from home to training and college until I was 16.
Most of the quick builds in Norway have been a technical disaster. I spoken to so many blue collar of how much money that has been used after the build for the county to approve it.
I hate to be that guy who one ups everybody ,but i hit my future son in law in the knee with an axe .......but i was following an Elders orders ..fact ...... came to the quick build ....they give me an axe and say ....swing here and cut this brush ....id never used an axe before .....as if everybody can .....no safe distance was established .....then on the first Day of the Quickbuild ...God 😅said Let There Be Blood 👍
