Thanks! We have a lot of these on our list this year, but I know we’ll be grabbing a few you listed. Do you have a video of your ancient read alouds/readers?
We just finished the Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle and loved it! I’ve been recommending Howard Pyle’s edited version for children “Some Merry Adventures of Robin Hood” for those who want less of the ale drinking and merriment focus :) (though our house loved the original like you got) Such a great version with 19th century English ❤❤❤
Good Morning Abby! I’m so sorry you were all sick in Jan. Winter is such a challenging time health wise. I was wondering if you made a similar video for Ancient Times? Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Thank you for this! I hope you plan to do this for all of the volumes. We love using Story of the World to do History as a family, but adding the reading for high schoolers takes it to that desired level. Did you make a similar video for Volume 1? Thank you again. Your videos are always so encouraging
Hi friend! I am loving the darker lipstick on you, so pretty! I wanted to ask if you’d share again the water coloring TH-cam channel your family is using. I would love to incorporate that into our homeschooling. Thank you for another awesome video!❤
We are on our second time around with SOTW vol.2 and have read some of these books. Some of our favourites so far this year have been The Celts and All That by Alan Burnett and The Golden Hawks of Genghis Khan by Rita Ritchie. I like the Howard Pyle version of The Merry Adventures of Robinhood.
We just started architecture and are reading the Castles book by David Macaulay. Might want to check that one out! (Cathedral will be our next study.) Also, if your kiddos like Lego, check out Medival Lego for historical snippets with Lego pictures. Glad you’re feeling better!
I use Bibliolan and every yesar comes with lists and lists of readers and read alouds for every part of history we stusy. I choose some for each year and like you pack it in containers for the next time we study that time period.
Do you make your own ranch sauce for the pasta salad or use store bought? Want to try it but considering we don’t have buttermilk! I am thinking how it could alter the flavors! Thanks
I just recently finished White Horse King by Benjamin Merkle and thought it would be a great book for older boys, especially any interested in the military!
Do you have a video just like this for your ancient civilizations books?

I meant to ask this too...
"Good Masters, Sweet Ladies" was one of our favorites when we went through the Medieval era.

Also, I think you’d appreciate The Hawk of the Castle - A Story of Medieval Falconry. It’s a picture book with fact boxes on falconry.
Yes! Thank you. I ordered it elsewhere, it wasn’t available on RR when I placed my order. It was recommended with Cathedral!
Ohhh exciting! Thanks!
Great book haul, Abby!
Glad y’all are feeling better! We had the flu for Christmas and got hit with a stomach virus this week! 🤦♀️

I also pronounce Leif as leaf. 🙂 What time of day do you usually do your read-aloud?
I recognize a lot of those from when we did Sonlight

Actually, I just use buttermilk ranch to cut corners lol!
I just recently finished White Horse King by Benjamin Merkle and thought it would be a great book for older boys, especially any interested in the military!
thanks! Is that from canon?
@@RootedinRest yes ma’am!
Perfect, bet I can get it on the app as an audiobook. Thanks so much!
What do you have your older ones do with their individual reading books? Do they narrate or do other activities or just read independently?
Thank you for sharing this is really helpful!
May I ask what you are using as your spine for the Middle Ages? Great picks!
Story of the World 😊
We’re starting medieval this summer ! Do you have the items you talked about linker anywhere ?
It would be helpful if you said the author as well. Thank you so much for sharing!
