I am so disappointed with the Louvre. When I studied fine art I was taught art is anything you can get away with. People are art as well. So sorry they acted as Asses. It breaks my heart.
You should have gotten yourself some perfume however. You should never just let security stop you before you try. You are beautiful and there is no reason to not be able to not go into any place to have what you desire. Both of you.

Think about it. A canvas painted blue with a red stripe down the middle. As soon as some one pays you money for it or hangs it in their place. It's art. Pile garbage in a gallery and call it an installation. If they go for it. It's art. Get it. The art world has masterpieces and pieces of work.

i don't know why they asked at all. so many holiday photos i took when all i had was a disposable camera i have ended up throwing away like pictures of animals or landmarks i have taken. if you are actually a fan of hers and watch her channel then yes by all means go say hi and ask politely for a pic but if you are just taking a pic because she looks different then it is the same as taking a pic of an animal at a zoo, you will end up throwing it away as it has no meaning because the only photos we tend to keep forever are ones with best friends or family in them
Depending on your mood, it can be fun, insulting, or inconvenient. A friend used to get so many photo requests that he refused to do it unless he was paid. It was a long time ago and it was surprising how much $$ he made. It would be a great way to move to Paris without a work permit for people who can handle exploiting themselves.
I don't really think she was uncomfortable, so much as... inconvenienced, because so many people wanted pictures, it meant they had to stop very frequently.
I personally think it's kind of nice and flattering that people wanted pictures, instead of avoiding and insulting them.
Usually, if people legitimately find goths scary, or weird, in a bad way, they resort to the second form of behavior, instead of politely asking and smiling.
So... even if she didn't get great service from the guards and security there, at least the rest of the people were incredibly friendly.
I like how they are trying to seem as nice as possible while being completely discriminatory. I hope somebody pics up this story and makes it headline news. Oh and Matthias's reaction in the Ferris wheel was the cutest thing i've seen all week.
Richard Powell She actually ended up tweeting them about it and the Louvre got a shit storm of bad publicity for it, after they found out she was semi-famous they realized they had fucked up so they scheduled her a VIP tour
Seeing you cry or get upset always makes me tear up, though I'm glad the rest of the trip went a bit better.
come to finland, no one will take pictures of you because we are usually so socially awkward/shy. :D and we have so many metal bands that goths and rockers etc. won't cause a scene.

TradGoth96 I commend thee. I got sort of harassed in Paris for having Blue hair. I hid behind my friend from them and they still were recording me, it was horrible. Yeah I have crazy hair, but I don't lose my rights for doing so, I'm a human not a side show.

Aria S not my opinion but after living in Paris for a couple of years I know why. The people who work there probably see goth people (or anyone who dresses very differently) as not fit to be in a place like the louvre. (the way they dress is probably seen as a joke by the museum people thus disrespectful). (not my opinion at all so no one attack me)
Maybe because they would attract too much attention. You can see at 5:00 that they attract a looooot of people, and since the Louvres is a quiet place, it would has disturb the place.

Putting aside the fact that it's horribly discriminatory there is a logical and pragmatic reason. There is a lot to see at the Louvre, tour groups and crowds need to keep flowing, not clog the space. Only so many people at a time can see the paintings and it's frustrating when areas get over-crowded. They attracted enough attention to stop people and cause a distraction. In her other video she mentions that the staff said they could schedule a private tour. It still sucks though.
Hold on Freya, that is discrimination! Isnt that illegal in France to not let someone visit an attraction based on the way theyre dressed? Im in Germany, and I know that shit dont fly here.
Yeah I feel like the issue should have been pushed and someone should have been punished for such discrimination! How absolutely nasty of them to deny them into a museum. They don't know shit about art, those people need to be fired. I would've been furious.

Employees at the Sephora on the Champs Elysées have a dance party every day. It really brings in the tourists.
That's really cool! My experiences with Sephora hasn't been great. The employees always come as a little uppity and mean, and it's not the most fun/welcoming environment :/

I'm so glad I don't get a bunch of people wanting to take pictures with me like that (although admittedly I NEVER go out except for groceries and such, and I don't live in a big city) because I'm extremely uncomfortable with cameras and as much as I want to break the stereotypes about goths being angry or rude or whatever I feel like if someone tried shoving a camera in my face I'd turn my face away and raise my middle finger at them.
I asked my friend who teaches English in Paris about Goths there, and she says they exist, so I don't understand why people are so enamoured with you guys. Half fans half not maybe?
I'd guess a lot of them were tourists, not locals. Intermixed in there were likely some fans but I think the grand majority of the photographers were tourists
