A waterskiing oasis in the middle of the desert! Designed by Cavin Costello of The Ranch Mine, this contemporary and dynamic desert home is unlike any other. Bordering the Gila River in central Arizona, a waterski community was created just before the great recession. Other than a few uninhabited boat houses, the recession caused the community to sit vacant for over 15 years until a pioneering couple decided to build the first house in the development. Lucy and Jono. WOW! Firstly massive thank you to the owners for allowing us to share their incredible home. The design, the materials and the minimalist approach. Love it! The scale could be imposing and yet by the excellent design and zoning this place is a home! A place to live and work. Take in the desert environment and living off grid done so well and considerate. I for one , a big fan of concrete and wood combinations and this is one of the best i have seen. What a life style. Thank you for sharing. Appreciated!

What feeds this "lake"? Has the water been depleting like all other lakes in the desert? Just curious about longevity of that dock in the back being the main selling point.
They pump it from underground. It's all man made.

I really like the outside of the home the facades ok but I don't like the inside because the space could've been used better imo

This house is NOT cosy, actually it is the exact opposite. If I were a cold-hearted person, this house would be perfect for me

You're right it definitely has quite a strong masculinity to the interiors, I found that coldness to be quite a welcome relief from the shear heat of the desert!
that fencing in the front, by the pool, isn't stopping any wind, let alone dust, from blowing through there

Sorry but the house is too industrial/prison feeling. Given the high temperatures in that area the owners will be prisoners to the inside air conditioning.
Prisoners don’t have luxury of ac. Just as someone would be in a cold climate inside house
