- The SVR certainly knows how to put a fantastic gala on which gets the fans to these Diesel events.
The only train I never got to film was the Castle Class HST which wasn't at Arley when I was there at 18.00 hrs according to the timetable.
The two other locos not in this video will be in another video. ENJOY.
In 2002 I filmed the first class 58 tour to Penzance which was 58021.
Absolutely fantastic video mate, this was one of the best galas I've been to for quite a few years. The 25s were great but seeing a 58 running again for the first time in 22 years really stole the show, well done to everyone at the SVR for putting on such a great event 👏 👍
What a brilliant shot with the Tractor emerging from the mist 🚜
OK thanks.
Mike, Certainly an early start for you allowing excellent coverage of this great event. Unfortunately I was unable to attend so good to see your quality captures. Regards, John
Hi John, yes I could have done with two day as it was a bit rushed to try and get all the traction, plus it doesn't help with the one way system in Bewdley.
Thanks for watching John, your comment is very much appreciate, regards Mike.
Another exceptional video from the SVR. I enjoyed my day there on Saturday. Highlights for me were 25262 and 58023. Excellent stuff
Great stuff, pleased you had a great day.
An absolutely amazing video Mike. The footage of the 58 was awesome, loved the clag, and the 2 rats put in a fine performance as well. You certainly know your way around that line judging by the spots you pick to film from. Thanks for sharing this great video mate,
best regards, Colin.
Yes I do know the places to go but I ran out of time to get to other locations due to the dark night are with us now Colin.
It didn't help that the first trip of the warship was messed up at Kidderminster on that morning which meant most of the day all the services were running 30 late.
But I was pleased to have got the chance to film the 20s 25s and that class 58023.
Thank you so much for your comment on my video, Mike.
Excellent stuff. Great footage from another super gala at the SVR. Those double headed 25’s were one of many highlights.
Yes Paul I do agree with you.
Really appreciate your dedication to this. Paul 0:05
Thank you Paul your comment is very much appreciated.
Great sights and sounds from yesteryear when we had proper railways 😎🇬🇧🎉🎉👍🏽
Love your comment as I with you.
An exceptional video from the SVR Mike. So good seeing the class 58 running on the line and some great scenes involving the other traction. Excellent photographs to end the video too. Cheers - Allan. 👍👍👍👍
Indeed it was great to see a class 58 running with passenger on Allan, the railtour I filmed with 58021 in 2002 failed in Penzance, so its great this one did a grand job.
Regards Mike.
Great video.
Thank you J
Great video Mike , and well done for being there so early!
Thanks Phil, I have watched both of your video, you was in the right place at the right time at Highley, brilliant footage.
What a show I ve just seen!
Wow that is very kind of you to say that mate, cheers.
Nice to see the 58, only ever seen one on vid.👍👍
Glad you liked it, was the one video you watched mine from 2002 David. ???
@@antman09ful1 No was another channel.
Nice video Mike :)
Thank you pal.
Another Cracking Video of the Diesel Gala. The Class 58 looked good painted up and the smoke 💨 Couldn’t make it this year unfortunately 🥲
Well Paul we can't be at every gala, but thank you for watching my video on this event, it was a bit rushed to try and see all in one day, but I could only do the Friday myself.
The SVR did another great show, cheers Mike.
Superb video, there always one & I’m going to be him! Remember Mercia Charters they ran a trip in 2008 with a mainline class 58 in the Netherlands
No I don't remember that event in NL, but thank you for your comment on my video.
Nice video 👍👍😎😎👍👍
Thank you for saying that Matthew. 👍
Brilliant footage 👍
Ditto other people's comments about the fantastic collection of heritage diesels at the Severn Valley
That's ok, it was a very good day for me, but I was knackered by the time it got dark.
Will share the night footage some other time.
Nice one Mike , and good to catch up with you
Thanks for coming Richard, hope you had a good weekend.
Never seen so many different heritage classes of diesels in the same place. Nice rams by the way. Awesome video Mike well done 🤓
Yes a good day had by all Tony, cheers Mike.
Great vid 🙂 I guess the 20 was coupled inside for contingency on the 58’s first foray with loaded services. Admirable planning but I can’t help regretting that the 20 wasn’t hauled dead in train in case it was needed, because it masked the 58’s soundtrack. Or was the 20 there to provide vacuum braking? Either way, still so good that another class is now represented in preservation 🙂
Absolutely brilliant Mike! What a collection of Heritage workings you saw! You have blown me away with what you caught and great weather too. Great seeing the 58 back up and running with tons of fantastic clag! Excellent filming from you, enjoyed cheers Nick.
That is good of you Nick to say these words, I would have liked two visits there but I was needed at home on the Saturday, plus I was a bit knackered after all the walking. ATB Mike.
@@antman09ful1Well have to say im not suprised there Mike!
Superb shot and capture there Mike. Nice sounds and liveries. Great bit of tones at the gala. Great one from you, 37 first one is a topper. Great to see the 58 out too. Very nice indeed! Really enjoyed, thanks for sharing!
Well Jamie if you enjoyed it that's great because I enjoyed trying to get it all but didn't succeed this time.
You have a good week, Cheers Mike.
@antman09ful1 Of course Mike, that's a shame, you did well getting all of this though. And you!
Nice vid Mike, good to bump into you again..
Thanks Kev, yes we seam to only meet at the SVR.
Had a few 58s on 1v33 piloting over cannock in the late 80s
Oh well know you are talking of the days when we had a proper railway.
And the brum to nuneaton drags with the 56s in the mid 80s
The 'rats' both sounded hellfire. The 58 not so much.
The best sounds of the day were 20s 25s for me as I also am a bit of a rat follower, but its a shame there wasn't many saved.
Cheers for watching.
@antman09ful1 how can you tell a male sheep 🐏 🐑 from a female I'm confused BTW amazing video 📹 my highlights were seeing the Class 25s and the 58
Vive la difference
All sheep filmed as you know were males, I hope yours are not that big Dan lol.
Thanks for enjoying the footage.
Svr don't like class 47s.
Funny you should say that Mark as I was thinking that last week about not getting a class 47 to a SVR gala, cheers.
@antman09ful1 47712 was there with the push pull set not that long ago, either Oct 22 or may 23 but that's the only one I recall. I guess they don't really need them with so many 50s, which was basically the EE equivalent.
Yes you are right it was I'm sure it was 2022.
47712 was there with the push-pull set last year, and 47828's been as well
