Glad they caught the move at Russellville as I didn't hear about it until after. Those passenger cars are former Rock Island and I hear were originally seating for the Stoby's restaurant (train themed) across from these cameras. More recently, they've been space for rent other businesses, I think. Stoby's needed the room for more parking, so they sold these cars, which are apparently going to be refurbished and operated as passenger cars again (I haven't been able to find who/where yet). Dardanelle and Russellville shortline has an interchange with UP just down the tracks from these cameras so it looks like they got one of their locomotives on the mainline to pull after the cars had been craned back onto active track. Wish I hadn't missed this in person!

Loved Big Boy (that voice!!!), the maneuverings at Wichita, the rainbow at Skykomish, and the Abbey Road take-off in Russellville. But what was with the chicken and the cow at La Plata? (That was an udderly awful pun btw.) Best wishes to Joe Peach and thank you guys!
15:30 I had no idea there was a GMD1 working in Arkansas until I saw this clip! Dardanelle & Russellville 1143 moving the passenger cars by the depot, which I always thought were on tracks no longer connected to the main lines as they were part of Stoby's restaurant.
Besides when a hurricane passes, it runs every day. Look for "Autotrain" on Google. 2 locos is normal and behind +/- 16 coaches are +/- 30 (!) autoracks with the cars from the passengers. Passes the cams at Ashland too.
@jamesghiorzoe107 The Stoby's restaurant in Russellville is train themed ...those were ex Rock Island cars that I believe may have been seating for the restaurant long ago. They've been space for other businesses more recently. Stoby's needed more room for parking so they've sold these to someone (I haven't been able to track down who yet)...apparently they'll be renovated and out back into passenger service. They still have another car thats actually built onto the restaurant. To get them moved, they craned the cars back onto recently renovated side track and then it looks like one of the Dardanelle and Russellville shortline locomotives came onto the UP mainline to grab them. D&R has an interchange with UP not far where you can see the approaching trains headlight at the end of that segment and I heard they may have moved the cars onto the D&R right of way.
I do not know but I try: to power a unit that controls the valves 1, 2 3 to release the ballast on to the track? Maybe they can do that from a distance to save the forces for turning the wheels everytime?
Every time I watch VR Grab Bag it really makes me feel good especially watching it on a Friday evening and there is always awesome trains going through these episodes especially in Oklahoma City my home state and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend Thank You.🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲:).
What a great horn salute from the CSX conductor!
I'll bet big boy had more than a few guys nervous taking that curve. What a handsome voice ❤
It would be an amazing sight to see that one put back on the rails if it had derailed like previous trains did on that point...
I got to see Big Boy up close this year, his whistle will vibrate your rib cage when your next to him. Absolutely incredible! 😮🤯
Same here
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
You never know what you’ll see in La Plata in the middle of the night.

Good to see Big Boy make it through Ft. Worth without derailing! 🙏🏽
Cool catches, lots of variety!
1:04 That is straight out of the early-to-mid 2000s
Is Virtual Railfan a time traveler or something because I’m actually very happy that the sd70m’s are back

5:30 Amazing 😍👍
I would like to say the traffic on the I-20/I-35W JCT at T-55 are railfans chasing the 4014, but I know better 😊
Someone needs to clean the camera lens at Fort Worth Texas Tower please.
I saw big boy in Houston 6 days ago
2:51 4 Amtrak leaders including an HU and what seems to be a train larger than average? What?
Auto train?

15:16 what is going at Russellville

Hello 👋 there
BNSF should do more than decals !
BNSF has ONE heritage unit.
I can not call it "heritage" when you put some stickers random on a hood. Glad it is only 1.
@Keikdv very true. I say "heritage" very loosely.
What was that heavy load?
What is the story with the animals at La Plata?
2024-10-12_06:00
And the winner of the train race is UP 4166
Is it me or did CSX 235 seem quite smoky?
Coal-fired diesel locomotive.
Why are the hoppers solar powered?
I do not know but I try: to power a unit that controls the valves 1, 2 3 to release the ballast on to the track? Maybe they can do that from a distance to save the forces for turning the wheels everytime?
Wish BNSF would use the warbonets BNSF units to pull the Executive train.the Pumpkins ju😢look out of place on a silver train.

What railroad did engine 4433 on the Cordele cam belong to?
