Just purchased the Canon EOS 77D yesterday after missing out last month since there wasn't enough stock. I've been waiting for Canon to release this for a very long time even though other Camera Stores and friends have tried to convince me to go the EOS 80D. Well, I've got my EOS 77D toy. Up your's everybody.
Just Curious; Now that it's 6 years later, do you think it was a great purchase, or should ask, was or is it a great camera? I have been eyeballing one. Upgrading from the Canon SL1.
many bad comments but a very good camera! its basically a 80d on a budget but saying on a budget its not a 100d. Agree we now need 4k and some in camera stabilizer not digital.
77D/T7i have only 3 fps when in continuous servo Af!!! SLOW-SUCKS! Even a T4i does far better at 5 fps with continuous af. See spec sheets: (2)High-speed continuous shooting • Max. approx. 6.0 fps. • Maximum continuous shooting speed with 1/500 sec. or faster shutter speed, maximum aperture (varies depending on the lens), Anti-flicker shooting set to Disable, with a fully-charged Battery Pack LP-E17 and at room temperature (73°F/23°C). • With the AF mode set to One-Shot AF and the Image Stabilizer turned off when using the following lenses: EF 300mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM. (3)Low-speed continuous shooting • Max. approx. 3.0 fps
Nigel Mooney as far as I know, it's like, it has the power of an xx D in an xxx D body, plus many body features of a xx D body is integrated in a xxx D body, like spinning wheel instead of four way button, a lock lever and the shoulder display
From what ive read and understand the 80D is for mainly recording video and the T7i and the 77D are mainly for still shots which is why I'm purchasing the 77D after doing reviews on it its perfect for what I need it for.
picked up a body on eBay for $370.00 mint condition. Considering I already had a t6I and this camera is better than the T7i... T7i costs more, I have no idea why.. I guess- because it's a newer camera, but it's not as capable.
Canon , please make a 24mm pancake2.8, and the 40mm pancake and the 50mm 1.8 all STM with IS. The electronic stabilization in the 77D body is not good. Look at Panasonic and Sony, they have stabilization in camera and with the lenses, with no crop. Please Canon, do it better.
Canon Nikon are Slowing Down in Innovation, because Huge Financial Losses in consumer camera market. Sony, Fuji preparing to steal their market position.

@@robb.lee91 It's still the person behind the camera who takes the photo! You don't need high-end equipment for taking good photos. It depends more on your skills (and lenses). This camera does have software restrictions, is fully made out of cheap plastic, short battery life, small and dark penta mirror viewfinder, mini usb... I just wanted to say that you should either stay with your smartphone/ cheap camera or wait until you can afford something better
Such a pointless release. Listen to your customers, Canon! In-body stabilization! 4K! A full frame mirrorless! A FREAKING CANON 6D MK II WITH FLIP SCREEN. These are the things people actually want, now get to work!

The 77Ds battery is short lived and is pretty pricey until today

many bad comments but a very good camera! its basically a 80d on a budget but saying on a budget its not a 100d. Agree we now need 4k and some in camera stabilizer not digital.
is this replacing th 70d? i thought the 80d was the 70d's predecessor... why does the 77d have 6fps when the 70d has 7fps
Righteous Reptiles this is like the 760D/ Rebel T6s with different name. so instead naming it T7s or 810D, Canon just named it 77D.

So is this replacing the 80D or cheaper version of the 80D
chungdha it's basically a dumbed down 80D for people who don't have the cash for an 80D
Yes and No. The new 77D is only about $10 more than the 80D. RRP that is.
it stands between the canon t7i and 80d!
chungdha this is the problem so much confusion in canon!
@@JesseHam No its not
This is such a nice camera wish I had one
Canon why don't you give us 5axis in body stabilization, and 4k with a usable codec.?? This is horrible
Sitha Puth on german canon website, they say in video mode, the dual cmos AF has an integrated 5-axis-stabilizer
Maemph Maemphn That's digital. But we want OIS, not EIS.
After my 550d it's time to buy the 77d, fantastic camera! Thank you Canon :)
W camera. I’ve had that camera for years and yet it’s reliable.

I love cameras of cannon
looks awesome!
Mi Canon 🤩
Man this is going to confuse people, it basically belongs in the 700 series, but the naming suggests its 70D/80D spec?

Good nice
Great, just bought the 80d 6 months ago. A new successor is too soon
whizzard blizzard this is replacing the T6S, you're fine. Your 80D is superior to this camera.

canon, hi, can you please tell me if this still has 3x digital crop zoom during video like on the T6s and 80D?
thank you
I see the same specs on the T7i
which one best for better phothography canon 77d or 80d
Go for 80d

At this point they are just avoiding giving us 4K and wasting our time.

PoolQueen Park it's because of the fragmented line up. They have so many different models plus the total lack of innovation!

Prefer my smartphone over this camera
Any particular reason. I'm thinking of buying it. Would be helpful if you could throw some light.
If you do, you don't belong in photography.
