On the point on authenticity: you can sort of help immerse yourself by playing the games in emulation with the original controllers. It often does require adapters for the wired controllers of old, but controllers from 7th gen and onward have Bluetooth functionality and/or USB support that can somewhat alleviate this. There are reproduction controllers available as well, but I don't know how well any given one of those would hold up to an OEM controller (maybe barring ones that the original manufacturer produces).
I've been emulating wii games ever since i was a kid, the guy throwing peace sign on the old dolphin icon is far superior and no one can change my mind
START emulating games? Deciding between the Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S back in 2012, and the thing that swayed me to the Galaxy was that I could use emulators without jailbreaking it. Am... am I old?
emulating switch games that you paid for is so good that i have to remind myself that most of these games weren't intended to be ran at 1440p 60fps but they do on emulators anyway. also mario and luigi brothership can run at 120fps so emulation is based
6:12 I mean you can just use a wii remote on your pc with a bluetooth adapter and an ir light bar Also, crt shaders on retroarch are pretty awesome do try them
Even if I always prefer to play on original hardware if and when possible, I can still appreciate emulation. A ton of games would be much less accessible if not straight up lost without it.
@@theultimategamertr2353 is there an option to separate the screens to different displays. It would be fun to buy a few TVs and make a DS wall in my future home
some corrections : PlayStation BIOS are essentially copyright protected system software for PS1 (real or PSClassic) and PS2. you can dump them from an actual system with certain apps. (or you can download them if you want coz i doubt anyone really cares for that lol its like the worst kept secret that everyone downloads it) however for PS3 emulation all you need is the latest System software update from Sony's website , and an unprotected version of the game you're trying to emulate (which is usually dumped game folders you get when dumping a game with a hacked PS3) , the Package files won't work unless you also apply the license file.
Emulation is King , Game Preservation is King , and anyone and anything that says otherwise is Evil. one day people will either get smarter to emulate in silence if lawmakers decide to be dumb and crackdown on people. or the people will find their power and change the law because NO ONE should be forced to get the real thing for hardware and software that is no longer officially sold by its creators. its called Abandonware
I think this is overall a good video! However, I wouldn't call modding original hardware "emulation". It's not emulating anything, that's kinda the point.
Emulation is cool and all, but decompilation / recompilation is much better. The mods that are possible far exceed what is possible with emulation, just look at that 11-player Super Mario 64 mod for example.
And now Nintendo is suing a guy for circumventing copy protections of the switch to obtain the prod.keys Granted he was emailing Nintendo and challenging them to take his channel down and what not and he was also streaming Nintendo games before their release

@@xxdarklink93xx mostly true, however as of very recently Nintendo has been iffy with emulators so yknow. Also, I was mentioning the time frame of the most common and easy emulators to get into and mess with

That's litteraly the best way to put it.
Emulation is fucking awesome
Trust me I’ve been emulating the whole of this year, been getting into emulation since 2023.
I'm glad you showed the VR thing. Its like playing video games in a time machine
I cant WAIT to start emulating again but on my series X
Already do, cousin.
Also, piracy is absolutely bangin'.

Being inspired by the Scott the Woz Game Room episode is a vibe
Emulators are one of the best things created. I mean dolphin is probably my most used application. I get to play Nintendo’s best games on a pc.

I used to have Homebrew on my Wii. A lot of fun.
I have it on my old ps3. It's a lot of fun
Some PS and PS2 emulators support "high level" BIOS emulation, meaning a BIOS ROM is not required.
Currently scanning almost 20000 games in Retroarch on my phone.
How did you even get that many ROMs?
that backlog is insane 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I highly doubt you will ever be able to play all of those games.
Whats also crazy is the amount of mods that you can find for certian games.

I started my emulation journey because i almost lost luigi's mansion Dark moon. which then lead me to getting sonic rush and well the rest is history-
DS emulation is meh... Why? NO TWO SCREENS!
@theultimategamertr2353 thats so real honestly. Sonic rush feels awkward to play sometimes

Great video! I'm looking forward to the day your channel gets big enough for Nintendo to retroactively takedown this video for no reason whatsoever.
