I've Been thinking of upgrading the suspension on my Z900, and its been difficult to settle on which manufacturer to use. Your opinion holds a lot of weight as you've been a "straight shooter" in this space with reviews for a long time. Great vid as usual. Much appreciated!
did you guys choose ktech over ohlins just due to the overall support they offer? Are there any other reasons? Currently doing research between the two, and always appreciate opinions of those who have used both.
IMO they both make quality parts. We are running K-Tech on this bike as well as the Ninja 400's Max is racing. The support (not free shit but the set up help) from K-Tech has been excellent. I have ridden the R7 and it handles really well. - Van
Brian, I had the same problem with the K-Tech allen tool when I installed DDS cartridges in my Ducati 1199. The tool wouldn't go all the way down, and then got stuck. I think K-Tech needs to reduce the other diameter of this tool by a tiny amount.
Just upgraded to an Ohlins TTX GP rear shock from Mike aka Thermosman. Also upgraded shock linkage. Moving up isn't always a piece of cake. Shock bolt linkage changed in 2021. Ask me how I know this 😂
I purchased a service manual for this bike so I would have all of the specs. The owners manual for this model has a few of the torque specs but not enough to really service the bike. - Van
Can someone plz give me some advise I weigh 69kg should I definitely go with the k tech shock that is for 65-85kg. Or get the one for 95kg plus. I know it may be a obvious one but🤷♂️
It will really depend on the type of riding you are doing. For reference we often use a 95 on Max's race bikes from the Ninja 400 to the GSX-R750. His weight was from 150-170 over the past few years. - Van

It was fine after I used some sand paper and spun it in the impact to remove the coating. Real pain in the ass but I was able to sort it out. - Van
Amazing...... Too good 🤘🤘😎

How much do you figure it will cost to have them sent in for install?
Any idea on the downtime/turnaround time?
I would expect the install to be somewhere between $200-$300. It will take longer to ship them than it will for the shop to do the work. - Van

Mike does an excellent job. Enjoy the new suspension. - Van
Is there a place for torque specs for the r7? All I have is a basic sheets but it’s not clear on what’s what.
