  • Two Dave's, one Yamaha. Either a really odd fetish film, or Obsession Engineering are making a cheap sporty twin better than Yamaha did.
    Join the fun as we upgrade the suspension and rearsets and see what difference it really makes.

    I've been loving your older sportbike content. Really loved seeing what you did with the R7!

    Only Dave can do this right! Well done Dave. I wish I could afford upgraded suspension 😭

    You should do time lapse videos of some of the work, watching you furiously pump the forks at 4x speed would be hilarious 😂

    I'm a huge Yamaha fan. However, it's time they get their 💩 together in the stopping department. Anyone ever heard anything good about the brakes on their modern yamaha road bike? Yeah, I didn't think so. A simple change to EBC DOUBLE-H SINTERED pads on my mt10 made a HUGE night and day difference alone. Yamaha, plz listen.

    Most impressive though on looking up the KTech prices I don’t think a 2002 R1 quite reaches the total price of the bike versus the shock 😲😂👍👏👌

      @@J_Dos46agree'd.. theyre a pigs ear of a bike.. nice engine as twins go but that chassis is chunderous.. another grand after all this stuff & this could be replaced by an RS & still be miles better.. just wasted ££s

    Tough choice between this and the rs660.
    The rs660 I believe I can probably turn it into a mini tourer and take it to the track when I need to scratch that itch.
    R9 when Yamaha!?

      660 is faster, better toys, but is more money. It'd still be my choice though

    Ive just got this same bike, interested to know more about the GYTR exhaust FS vs the latest version of Akrapovick exhaust racing line FS, struggling to understand the differences and why you would pick one over the other??

    • @Dave_from_Technical
      @Dave_from_Technical 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This exhaust is the euro5 road legal Akra system, it's a fair bit lighter and much better looking than the stock system but noise and power aren't massively affected. The tone is a little richer and slightly louder but the main benefits are weight and looks if I'm honest.

      Very different ethos to the R6. It's sporty, but much more of a road bike than a racer. Definitely not as fast though!

    • @Dave_from_Technical
      @Dave_from_Technical 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Out of the box, yep. Low 70's is viable with a full race exhaust and airbox mods with some mapping. Cams will take that to 90 ish and headwork nudges high 90's. More than that requires the throttle bodies boring out.
