Yup. Currently a Solutions Engineer. They didn’t ask for me to get certified in AWS but I went and got certified as an AWS CCP 2 months ago anyway. Better to have a skill that multiple companies desire than trying to only focus on the skills only your company is asking for.
From the title, I was led to believe the video was going to touch on an industry-accepted Solutions Engineer cert, not the AWS:SA one that's too vendor honed and can be a huge miss if the firm you work for is deep into another cloud stack already. Would be great if y'all do a video on an actual cloud cert for Solutions Engineers for 2023.
@@WeTheSalesEngineers How would a current SDR get a job as an SE if not with a cert? Is there a "stepping stone" type of job or a cert to get started, maybe the AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification?
AWS Solution Architect Associate Cert is a great one. Any cert will show that you are willing to learn. As an SDR, you can check if your org has an SE team and work your way into that. If not, build your network so you can find an SE job. If you need more help, you can book some time with me to chat. connect with me on Linkedin www.linkedin.com/in/ramzimarjaba/
Yes, if you don't have any certification and looking to prove you can learn new tech, AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification is the one that Trevor recommended.

More tools in the toolbelt always helps
@@WeTheSalesEngineers exactly. Currently studying to get the AWS SAA cert next. Grind don’t stop!
Nice flashy thumbnail! 🧡
Trevor got an event with a big TH-camr (Du’An Lightfoot), super happy seeing this!

There are no SE certs that I'm aware off, mainly because there is no standard way of being an SE unlike routing protocols or cloud providers.

I’m studying the qualys cloud platform which is cloud and has almost everything integrated
That works
Sorry, I might have missed this, but is the one cert to rule them all the Solutions Architect one?

This was very helpful. Thank you both!
Glad it was helpful!
Great content
Thank you!
Good stuff. I'm glad you addressed this topic. And Stephan does have some good courses on Udemy. I've checked out a few in the past.
Thanks Kevin!
