My two best finds...
Bought a box of random CCG cards which were a collection of all the lost post from the UK postal service, I paid £40, and it was worth over £2000. Included 4 Tarmagoyfs, Birthday Pikachu etc.
My best recent buy was last year, spent £50 on a collection that i saw had an Angus Mackenzie in the folder. When i received it, it was a signed Artist Proof :)
I often buy card collections around the area I live, and I've gotten a few REALLY big hits a few times. I travelled about an hour and a half to check out a guy's collection just before COVID, and he had a large chunk of the Collector's Edition set, including Mox Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Pearl (sadly not the Jet). Also had a couple of the dual lands in there, as well as a few Alpha forests. Biggest hit so far!

It does. It's also really helpful to show the individual prices when adding to the running total. I've noticed you do it sometimes, especially when there are a few in a row, but sometimes it takes a second to back calculate how much a card was worth when it's just added to the running total

Best random buy score... bought a collection off a guy about 7 years ago.... 4th edition through.... somewhere south of Innistrad. Paid about $450 for 5000 cards. Had an original Force of Will, Necropotence (before it was reprinted to heck), a few other decent common and uncommons. Made my money back, and a little more.

Just spent $3000 of a set of 5000 cards.
The one photo she had online had 2x lions eye diamonds and 2 x city of traitors. Already at over $4500 and barely half way through the large box, 20+ reserve list cards. Im loosing my shit its wild.

Honestly I love watching random buys...let me explain why...
Originally I started with Magic as a player way back when Revised was the lastest basic set and in between the expansions The Dark and Fallen Empires. I played magic right up until around Exodus, I had not much disposable income back then and simply couldn't keep up with the new sets being released and remain competitive in tournaments so I made the unfortunate decision to liquidate my collection at the time (which included several dual lands and playsets of other really great cards for a measly 300 bucks). I then focused on the card games Legends of the 5 Rings and Raw Deal almost exclusively though I later on dropped L5R for the same reason I did Magic as I just could not keep up playing multiple games and remain competitive in them. These days as we all know L5R and Raw Deal are no more and I actually am disabled now and don't get out as much as I use to or I'd like to, so my focus has now shifted to collecting instead of tournament play so I started collecting Magic again (from scratch) with the release of Dominaria. I started with almost no cards (only a deck's worth that were donated to me during my hiatus when some friends were trying to convince me to get back into the game). I missed out on the release of a LOT of Magic sets so when people look through them I get to see cards that I want to collect (mainly for the artwork now) and put them on a list of cards that I will eventually buy when I have the extra money.

It's been some years since I played, but I still enjoy videos like yours. As to the era when I played, it was mostly Revised, Fourth, Ice Age, The Dark, Chronicles, Fallen Empire, Homelands, some Mirage and Visions. My most valuable card is an Unlimited Emerald Mox. It's been played a lot and it shows. Fun game, enjoyed your video.
Just a heads up, acorn harvests are $3 a piece, and that oversized Vampiric Spirit is $5 as of this comment. I love these random buys, I hope to find just a pile of cards in an op shop some time

Started in 1994 when there was only ‘type I’ and ‘type II’. But I never made it very far in the tourneys. My Revised cards were no match against the old guys playing with Unlimited and Legends.
Learned a lot though and it was a lot of fun. Absolutely packed on a Friday night - probably 30ish players.

I remember playing a Tooth and Nail deck and a Mono Red deck in standard during the Mirrodin set. At the time, I did not realise how many good cards the Mirrodin set had.
Decided to go through my collection over the past few days, only gone through a part of it but have over $700 worth, been hard finding someone to buy it for a decent price though, glad I decided to go through it though
How many cards over $5? Yeah it’s tough to find buyers for certain cards unless it’s an LGS
@@MattcasterMage about 21 not counting ones .05 under $5, and I’ve only gone through a portion of my collection. I have about 10 more but they’re in a commander deck I have and I don’t know if I want to sell them.

My best score was finding a Emrakul aeons sleeved mind you in an ash tray outside of my work. Like wtf it also rained super hard about an hour after I found it

My best find was from a local flea market. I bought a random stack of card for 5$ from a lady that does a lot of storage units in my area. Didn't look like there was much in there, but towards the bottom I found a DAMAGED SLIVER QUEEN! Sold the suckered on eBay for 110$ the same day LOL! Best collection by far was the deck haul I bought for 50$ off someone at a moving sale. Pulled 1200$ worth of cards out, including several shocks and fetches.

Mirrodin set is ballin, so many great artifacts!
The more I think of it, I feel it was good that the Mirrodin artifact lands were at common because if they weren't they would cost so much. You got really lucky with all the lands and talismans.
I bought a bulk set of cards yesterday for $200. The calculated cost of the valued cards so far is $377. HMU...we can discuss. As always, great video!
My best card in a bulk purchase was a craterhoof behemoth and 4 (mostly complete) commander 2013 decks.
The longbows are 85 cents so maybe pull them. They have been on an upward climb for the last 6 months and with the increase is deathtouch tribal for commander o think that tread will continue

I bought a random collection from a guy i know, pulled a foil noble hierarch from conflux and a snapcaster mage from innistrad along with a bunch or rares, mythics such as balefire dragon, dragon broodmother! was great time and made money on it

bought a random container of cards in Hollywood that ended up having 4x original Aether Vial and a bunch of other old school goodies from around that era. Wasn't a steal by any means (think I paid like $200 for what ended up being like $275 worth of cards) but it was a pimp upgrade to my modern Humans deck
My best score on a collection that I bought was this collection I bought for $60. It had Earthcraft, Null Rod, Concordant Crossroads, Jet Medallion, Worldly Tutor, and like 10 random cheap reserve list cards

Viridian Longbow and Standard Bearer are about 60 cents each and are Pauper staples. Scale isn't really used in Pauper affinity, but tooth of chiss-goria is in some more aggressive affinity decks. Cloudpost is banned, but almost worth a dollar each. Nice find!

I still play my Arc Bound Ravanger deck ( with modern upgrades) against the younger generation who have never seen it. It's still as lethal as it was back in the day.

That’s correct. MH2 may have even more. They are useful in commander, but at the current price points they are being sold.

I bought mirroden , the deck that had elementals and one that had myr , a few packs just collected then and had no money so it was not big , i have most fond memories of playing avacyn restored and 7th edition (my cousin had the trained ogre and giants pre-con and a walls deck lol) slivers were fun to talk about because queen was $30 and we thought that was crazy lolol fun times ... I didn't really start buying and investing the big bucks until recently (rise of eldrazi and eldritch moon) now i spend too much money and have thousands and thousands of cards and money invested into it lol

dude prices in the US are just ridiculous sometimes. I can easily get a foil unholy grotto for like 35 Euro (roughly 41dollars)
Yeah you Can easily divide by 2 the values in euros, its not even funny. Like half of the value goes poof here because many of the one dollar cards are worth less than 50 cents, so it become incredibly tedious to resale.

Im not sure but I think your total should be way higher. the total didnt went up at all with lots of cards especially in the binder. its probably more like 800-900 minimum

Where do you get your values from? I want to sell my cards there. Cabal ritual is about 1 Euro in Germany. Merchant Scroll 2 Euros. You value all your cards four times higher than they are :D
