I just hit "Subscribe" because you seem like: 1. a regular guy 2. doing regular Harley stuff 3. who happens to be really good at making videos. It's hard to find all three.
The pipe looks great and sounds great. I love how it's not obnoxious. I went with the two brothers comp s and it's actually a little loud for my taste so I've been fiddling with baffles for it. Back in the day loud was proud but now that I'm almost 50 I like a quieter Rumble. That S&S pipe sounds excellent right out of the box.

I recently installed an S&S Diamondback and I totally agree on that front Heat shield. As a matter in fact I took my front engine guard off and was able to get to those nuts. little bit of a pain....However love the pipe. great vid!!!

Nice!! I do it all myself. Bikes on a lift right now installing an S&S Cam Plate and oil pump and some S&S lifters. Replacing the weak links on the M8 a little at a time.

I use S&S product myself. Excellent quality for sure. But when I comes to the pipe, check out D&D 2 into 1. Excellent performance and sound. Give it a look
I probably should have used anti-seize on my O2 sensors and adapter bushings. But I didn’t and ended up destroying my $900 S&S Sidewinder 2:1 exhaust. It was a great Stage II exhaust while I had it on the bike. Looked great. Sounded good. And the bike ran much better than stock. I agree with you about the 2:1 pipe. I think asymmetrical looks fine, and I would never put a ghost pipe on the left side. My RGS already weighs 900 lbs. There’s no need to add more weight unnecessarily.
Everything was pretty much fine w/ my Sidewinder exhaust running Stage II (Air Cleaner, Exhaust, H-D TQ cam, V&H FP3 Tuner). But when I decided to switch to Thundermax ecm w/ wide band O2 sensors, I could not remove one of the brass adapter bushings out of the S&S head pipe. Like a moron, I tried to force it out with a breaking bar and I damaged the front cylinder head pipe stripping the threads for the O2 sensor. fitting. The guy who bought it from me on eBay got a great deal. He simply welded a new O2 fitting into the pipe where I had damaged it. And I purchased a new D&D Billet Cat 2:1 exhaust. So it was win:win for everyone!
Yup, drove me nuts also. That half pipe ties in right after the cat and it heats it up more than the main pipe and there's less pressure so hot particulate sticks to the tip.
I have never put a head pipe on with the heat shields on. It's hard enough without them, sounds like a good way to cut the shit out of your hands, love the content ride safe!

Great video. I have the Rinehart DBX40's on my Road Glide and I hate them. Your video helped convince me to go with the S&S, and I am going to install myself.
Next year, that is my upgrade. A 2 into 1, with the WBO2 sensors, and the Dynojet Pro (I have the powervision right now). Pretty excited, but the whole this is gonna cost me some coin!

Not many people up here in new england run it like that. That, and I cant wait to get rid of the cat...even with aftermarket slip ons, it still sounds tinny to me (of course I came from an 02 road king, to a 18 Electra Glide, so there is a world of difference with the entire bike)
I know I'm a couple days behind on this vid. so I'm hoping you see this and could give some insight or clarity... Can you confirm based on your understanding that as long as you're running a Screaming Eagle tuner, you can run whatever exhaust system and not void the 2 year warranty?
All I wanna do is install my Rinehart 4.5” mufflers on my new CVO Road Glide. 4 degrees in the garage with my 60,000 BTU heater blowing. Not good for my health. Will try again in a few days when the temp gets up to 25 degrees.

Great videos and instructions, I just installed my self full Rhinehart header pipes and 4.5 slip on’s on my 2021 Streetglide Special, with screaming eagle air, used the HD pro street tuner, noticed there’s only one option for the 114 stage one chose it runs ok do you think I should choose under exhaust the open SE, To tune too? Haven’t tried the smart tune yet not really sure how to run the bike when recording.

Bike is looking good man. That style 2-1 fits well on the limited and still gives that aggressive look and some power. How was the front cylinder to put on, as I remember on my 2016 Ultra it was a pain in the @$$ fitting it. Looking forward to ride/ performance review with the tune. For audio, hit up Cameron Johnson with badazz bikes, they set me up with Sound Digital amp, hertz neo speakers and all wiring for less than what you paid for the pipe. Wasn't to bad of an install, but the batwing speaker pods are going to test your ever loving patience...6 or 7 total bolts for each one and 3 are hidden by the triple tree inside of the fairing. Just my 2 speakers are plenty loud.

@@ProfessionalMonkey The T-Header is 120db. I have a stage 4 103 twin cam. So I'm not sure if that adds to my problem? Hopefully the S&S will quiet it down to 90db w/ the reducers.🤞🤞
@@ProfessionalMonkey yup, via the Screamin Eagle kit. Less HP & TQ than a fuel moto or S&S kit but warranty friendly. Higher compression than stock, so pushing more air out the exhaust. Once I get a more neighbor friendly exhaust, then my life will be easier😂
@@fijijakes I like the S&S tear drop, iconic design. You can get it in the stealth version or the stinger. It's really preference for appearance. To be honest just about ALL high flow filters perform the same, it's just about whether it is or isnt high flow.
@@ProfessionalMonkey no stock pipe/air cleaner. Jut remove the cat. About 60% of the forams out there say no need to retune but... intill recently the newest Harley I had was a 71. Which I wish I still had. Not crazy about the new tech as I'm old as fuck. Most of my bikes were bikes I built myself. We use to buy a rolling chassis at a swap meet and build our own engines. I had some of the most beautiful bikes around and fastest. Of course that was before the r1 haha.

How did the o2 sensors destroy your pipe?

Yeah that new pro pipe will rock once you have it under load. My buddies on Okinawa with a carb’ed bike just was loud as fuck when he got on it.

Depends on if you want sound or numbers. Sidewinder is going to develop more power but not sound as good as the 50s. Your choice!

Can I get that info on clutch cable? I'm waiting too. Dealership told me they wouldn't be available until October.
Tell them to order the right length cable for a Softail. It's the same cable.
I know this is an older video so you may not see this, but do you need a tune to go with a 2-1 exhaust if everything else is stock?
Yes, you should change the intake though. Any high flow exhaust needs a tune and a high flow intake.

Yup. Only thing I know of that is even available for a 21. Also the whole warranty thing. It's not a good tuner, but...
Where are you going to place your SE Module in order to fully complete the new tune?

You get more torque from a 2-1 because of scavenging.

@@fijijakes I like the S&S tear drop, iconic design. You can get it in the stealth version or the stinger. It's really preference for appearance. To be honest just about ALL high flow filters perform the same, it's just about whether it is or isnt high flow.

Do you know if you have to tune after removing the catalytic converter on a 103.
Yes. If you decat the pipe or change the head pipe you will need to retune.
@@ProfessionalMonkey no stock pipe/air cleaner. Jut remove the cat. About 60% of the forams out there say no need to retune but... intill recently the newest Harley I had was a 71. Which I wish I still had. Not crazy about the new tech as I'm old as fuck. Most of my bikes were bikes I built myself. We use to buy a rolling chassis at a swap meet and build our own engines. I had some of the most beautiful bikes around and fastest. Of course that was before the r1 haha.
