    A review of the Casio G-Shock GW 6900 after owning it for over a year. I cover my thoughts on the watch as well as the watch's features and operation. I've used this watch for everyday wear since I bought it. I've not been compensated for my review of this product so my thoughts and opinions are my own.
    Stay tuned for more reviews of things I've used for a long time!

    I’ve worn this watch almost every day for a year and I work construction with it on and it’s been worn while jackhammering, fixing broken pipes under muddy water, it’s been wracked against walls, trucks and concrete.
    The watch has amazing durability.
    It only has one mark in the face from welding spatter.
    For even the toughest environment I would trust this watch wold make it through.
    It still runs like new and looks great.

      It says my comment is 2 years old and I continue to wear it every day and it works and looks great with the same harsh environment.

    A great watch & I wear it almost everyday. The only drawbacks I have are that it doesn't display the main time on Stopwatch & Timer modes just like it did on the DW6900 & the alarm doesn't sound loud enough. Despise all that I highly recommend it

    The only thing you need to worry about with G-shocks for longevity is to make sure it's hermetically sealed every time you open the case back to access the module, like for battery changes. Use silicone gasket grease, and replace the rubber ring if necessary. If you do that the watch will last for a long long time

    Hiii man... Greetings from me in Indonesia and I love your review of the use of this GW6900 which I plan to buy. I've never had any problems with this Casio GW 6900 missing dst updates. I do live easily in the range of the radio signal source in Colorado (I'm in the eastern half of Texas), so that may have something to do with it. Mine updates every night flawlessly, and I don't really follow their directions about putting it near a window or orienting it a certain direction.

    • @LongTermReviews
      @LongTermReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd say an 8.5 - 9. It's basically maintenance free since it's solar powered and radio controlled. The only reason it's not a 10 is that it would be nice to have a step counter and heart rate monitor. I don't think those features would work with solar charging, but it's the only way you could improve this watch. For what it is, a watch, it's a great watch.

      @LongTermReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been ages since I held one of the classic G-Shocks, so I can't say for sure. From pictures they look similar. The model in the video has a band that's a sturdy, flexible plastic. It's got a flat texture and is reasonably soft on the skin, for what it is.
      Hope this helps!

    • @LongTermReviews

      It looks like the big difference between the watch in the video, the GW 6900, and the GW7900 is that the 7900 has tide and moon graphs included. I know that I'd almost never use those, so I'd probably stick with the 6900 or whichever is less expensive.
      I should mention I've never handled a GW7900, so I'm just going off of what I found on Casio's website. Hopefully somebody else will chime in that's handled both!

    • @LongTermReviews

      Honestly, I'm not sure. I tried looking through the manual and Casio's website and couldn't find a conclusive answer or really any information at all.
