  • Yarra Junction Railway Station and the Upper Yarra Museum are located together in the township of Yarra Junction and is 65km (40mi) east of Melbourne Victoria Australia.
The museum first open in 1972 with a small donated collection of historic pieces of machinery and household goods. Over time it included displays of the Gold Rush era, Timber mills, General Farming, Forestry and the Railway and Timber tramway.

Now you're really in my backyard!! 😅. Beautiful spot and the museum is a real asset to the community. The Crank Up Heritage & Community Festival is held there every March. Wood chop comps and steam engines on display, plus many other exhibits. The rail trail you mentioned runs 40km, all the way from Lilydale to Warburton and passes through some very scenic locations.

Hi, It is that Ausie/Swede again writing from Sweden. Thank you for a very interesting Video. My grandfather had a farm at Gladysdale (next town up the road to Powelltown) and the first time we visited him there, we took the train from Moe (Yallourn was my home town) to Flinders Steet Station and then another to Yarra Junction where he picked us up. I would have been about 10 then. So as you can imagine, this brings back a whole lot of memories for me. Thank you foor a great video, by the way we did not use the word Caboose, it was a Guardsvan.
