I couldn’t name all of the No Limit albums because mostly of the production was done by Beatz By The Pound. What is the most underrated album from the mid-90s era of No Limit Records.
Silk the Shocker debut album is still one of my all time favorite CDs! There are a lot of songs on there that I still bump and know every word to. If I saw that record - I WOULD GET IT!!! Even tho I don't have a record player lol
Do a N Limit albums that never droppped like that DSH album and Tank Doggs and DJ KLC the 2 i know about off the top of my head but there was a lot im sure of
I find myself returning to that album at least a few times every year or two. Before Beats By Da Pound and No Limit having a southern sound, people forget they were doing Bay Area mob music in that era. Love the production on TRU's "TRUE" album.
Shiiit no judgement bro I spent $150 on a sealed vinyl of Charge It 2 Da Game, if you can find The Shocker on wax I'd probably grab it cuz it's pretty rare compared to most other No Limit vinyl. The production on "The Shocker" is excellent, some of the beats are almost East Coast at points, but it's all hard drums & dark synths, spooky gangsta shit. It doesn't have the hits & the appeal the other albums do, but from a pure beats & bars standpoint it might be his best album. I would have ranked "True" higher, I think it's an excellent album with only a few skips. But otherwise great job as always sir, would be dope to "Round Out The Tank" with a video on the 91-94 genesis era.
Man you have to cop that vinyl! It's worth it for the memories! This was the era when we went to the store and bought album's! What a time to be alive!
Great list and ranking! I love it when you guys pay homage to the down south classics.... I think that it would be great if you made a B.G. albums ranking (you did Juve and Wayne, so b.g. should be next!), he has quite a lof of classic albums!
That Down South Hustlers 2 leak is a mishmash of songs released several years apart. “I Got Yo Back” for example, was released by Big Ed on his post-NL project, Special Forces.
I love that first Silkk the Shocker album. I was blown away by it after listening to Charge It 2 Da Game for so long. It’s easily his best work to me personally. The production alone blows his other albums out of the water. I love that TRU album too. The West Coast production works well to me considering where they were at during this time. Cop that Vinyl dude! It’s rare. I would get myself if Vinyl was my thing. I’d be happy just to have the CD. No Limit’s catalog is becoming more and more rare every day.
Great Video as Always. But CD 2 of Down South Hustlers got some Heat. I didnt get your dislike for it. Besides Bounce that Azz My Woman from Coop MC, another Classic Joint. With this Track i discoverd him. Handle your Business by Serv-On, Banger Gs Stay Real, Hot Track My mind went blank, Hits hard.
Good rankings. Very accurate. That The Shocker album is so dope and severely slept on. I know Silkk is known for how wack he is but that album goes off. I still have the original cd's for that Down South Hustlers comp album. I think it's worth some money.
Sorry I missed the premier but I was at the hospital getting labs drawn! I'm late but finally have the time to sit down and watch. Excited to see your future videos! Maybe a top 10 No Limit beats? That's essentially a top 10 Beats by the Pound beats.
Ice Cream Man is such a vibe, top 2 from P and maybe no. 1 in my list. Even the b-sides from the Mr. Ice Cream Man single are good imo. Since y'all ranked Down South Hustlers so high, I might give it a chance soon also thank you for letting us know about that Down South Hustlers 2 leak. Looking forward to the unreleased albums from the Tank list 🙏 As for the Silkk vinyl, go cop it!
The only female rappers I bump alone are Miss Hill, Jean Grae and Mia X. Kane And Abel album cover SUCKED. Also P and UGK never missed!!!! This is FACTS!
Bro? How are you going to mention down south hustlers and not mention Dj Screw my mind went blank with point blank? And that down south hustlers 2 is a fake leak. That’s not a real track list. That’s fan made. Forgetting an OG Dj Screw song smh.
As a BIG NL fab I 100% disagree with what you said about TRU. This album ia top 5 NL album easy. The bay sound fit perfectly with nolimit and gave it a twist. The concepts of the album was incredible, take a bullet for yo homie to Last Dance to F%uck you H%es. Amazing body of work.
Also, never knew about that Mia X EP till the streaming era and loved it once I heard it! I'd have to say MC Lyte was probably the first unisex female rapper though.
Most no limit albums aren’t distributed by UMG/BMI/Priority so some third party has to distribute them most likely and they always have the risk of being taken off, so that kinda sucks
This happened with Goodfellas, 7 Sins, most likely the Tre-8 album, Am I My Brothers Keeper, The Assassin (although an official anniversary edition was released by someone on No Limit), Memorial Day, Guilty till Proven Innocent, Gameface, Ghetto Postage, and so much more
Hoodlum Fo Life wasn't bad at all bruh! Intro with Holloway was heat! Down South Hustlers was the best outta 95/96! Then Ice Cream Man, Shocker, 7 Sins, True, Good Girl Gone Bad, Ghetto Stories, 99 Ways To Die, Hoodlum Fo Life

No, definitely not
I couldn’t name all of the No Limit albums because mostly of the production was done by Beatz By The Pound. What is the most underrated album from the mid-90s era of No Limit Records.
@cloficc7234 I listened to it recently, hasn't aged well. Trash
None of Master P’s solo music was ever good enough to listen or play over and over. He is still trash at best or straight mediocre

It’s only right we get BG! We haven’t don’t Juvie solos yet but we’re working on it!
