Hell yeah, those games had amazing music. That's probably because it's very inspired by a Japanese fusion band called T-Square. They did some music for the GT games and back in the 80s/90s they didmusic for the Japanese grand prix.
Finally a bass player that plays funky without slapping... Im so happy, as a bass player myself.... This band doasen't give any innovation to the music but their performance is exellent... Sound, great taste on solos, and nice tema on this song... Compliments
Good question. I'd say the ideal scenario in that case would be the keyboard player playing a bass line with the lower register of its instrument, while the bass guitar plays the solo.
Very good music bassist to Bassist good work, reminds me of the early funk/fusion era for certain and they have modern tone and flavor...Sounds good gentlemen 🎵👍🏿
OK for Jeff lirber, spyrogira, yellow jackets ou uzeb but not weather report! I think personally. Only the French bands named sixun seems like weather report
... and for the record mentioned it took me back, (the sound of this song), -back to those days in the late 70s early 80s when I was listening to those fusion type groups. And still listening might I add. Hey! Have fun out there! Enjoy 😉
Does anyone know what kind of strap he was using? Standing and playing bass for long periods of time has begun killing my back and I would love to try something like that out.
Man ken smith basses have such a unique and cool sound it’s too bad they cost thousands of dollars insert sad face it’ll just be me and my American jazz bass for the foreseeable future wich honestly isn’t all together a bad thing imo
I love the music but... this is a very weird viewing angle with the bassplayer in front with the lights and the other in the shadows, I thought we as bass players were not into ego trips, it makes me uncomfortable
It is his band and his compositions and he is the one who received «révélation de l'année Radio Canada» for best jazz album . My son is the sax player and he is perfectly fine with this. Have a great year :)

This gave me serious vintage Gran Turismo vibe, a song that would definitely play during the game's opening.

@@pauloba55 And Casiopea, and Dimension !
Definitely reminiscent of some of the better fusion of the 70s and 80s. Awesome. 👍👊
Beautiful…made my morning!
Simply awesome, great vintage feel all over.....please more!!
I don't know what I like more the bass guitar or his expression and enthusiasm while playing
Just phenomenal!! Reminds me of Jeff Lorber fusion 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

I haven't known this band. I will listen their all music from now on.
This is great funky👍
Nice tune, sax work was excellent.
Thank you so much!
OMG! This stuff is out of this world... just soooooooooo gooooooddddd!
Great performance. Just asking myself: Is a bass solo in the higher registers possible without a significant loss of groove in the tune?
Good question. I'd say the ideal scenario in that case would be the keyboard player playing a bass line with the lower register of its instrument, while the bass guitar plays the solo.
as long as the drummer is keeping up the groove, I'd say... YES, IMO ! ;)
Whole band is great but that sax player is a star.
Thank you. Damien-Jade Cyr is my son :3
Thank you so much! It means a lot!!
My thought as well
@@chaimchaviv7494 Thank you!!
High quality music. Well done!
Reminiscent of some early Jean Luc ponty. Very nice! ✌️🎸

CARL MAYOTTE FROM QUEBEC MONTREAL! I've talked and seen theses guys this summer! Really nice guys to talk with, and very good players too! ;)

Reminds me of Klaus Doldinger. Very fine funky sound.
Stéphane Chamberland has to be one of the best drummers from Québec.

Well what can I say to that I'm very impressed guys you've done a great job I enjoyed listening to this I wish I could play as good as your bassist.
Took me back to my Weather Report days! Great work guys!
Yeah! Weather Report, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Spyro Grya, etc.
OK for Jeff lirber, spyrogira, yellow jackets ou uzeb but not weather report! I think personally. Only the French bands named sixun seems like weather report
@@lachainedelafamille4237 😊 just a thought...

I met Carl in 2019 and he let me try his Ken Smith. Amazing guy!
Finally... Some music
Impressive facial impressions! They exactly match the notes! :)
Amazing
When you see everyone digging in is awesome
Parabéns vcs são incríveis 👏👏👏👏👏😍
Mmmm love those old Ken Smith's
Very good
Killer!
Not really my jam but I couldn’t stop watching the bassist awesome facial expressions.
Go man go!
tastes are tastes but i wonder what is your jam...
this is something outstanding, almost at the same level of Chick corea, Patitucci, Weckl ecc...
This sounds so 90/2000s
COOL
Where can I get that bass strap?
That is a Gruv Gear Duo strap. Can’t post the link.
10/10 bass face 😜
plays with his face XD
There are people who say they like the bass but the headstock has too much drag, and then there is this guy
These dudes are very jazzy Funk Soldiers ya Heard. Mr. PRS is a monster 💀. Yes Sir...
Awesome...
What bass brand is Carl playing?
Ken Smith
Does anyone know what kind of strap he was using? Standing and playing bass for long periods of time has begun killing my back and I would love to try something like that out.
Gruv Gear makes these
What kind of bass is that? It has a nice tone 🎵🎶
a Ken Smith

Very nice. I just don´t understand why other musicians have to play less during bass solos.
usa dos correas el bajista?
How comes the knobs are in the wrong place on that Ken Smith?
Love than Ken Smith tone!
Nice Ken Smith.
Tha bass straps? Why
Is that napoleon dynamite on bass???

Being a musician on stage is a natural ego trip. And that's a good thing.
@@ileutur6863 I agree but I really like when everyone has it's own moment, idk it's just the camera thing that puts me off 😅
Very phish like
I cant hear the bass
Except it's not Funk. It's Jazz Fusion.
Good remark Jerry. It's not Funk at all. 😀
Todo bien menos la cara del bajista
Well, I actually didn't like it. It seemed, in some sort of strange form, a bland version funk/jazz fusion music.
