Ok, so I watch these types of videos often. They are generally full of great playing, sounds, production, tasty musical ideas, and even camera work. What the hell are people "thumbs-downing"? I honestly can't see one thing wrong with this video.
Amazing Bryan! My names Dom Ladd from the U.K. and I also play bass ! Perhaps 🤔 we are distant relations 😀😃😃😃 have a great day! Awesome playing and tone! Tasty keys and what a drum groove!
Nice song and performance! The three of you. Is that great sounding bass a Fodera? Amp? Thanks, from Argentina, for a fine musical moment. Full of swing!
Great song and technique. Bravo. There are so many great musicians out there. If I had the resources, I would host and create a platform for musicians to perform live.
I love Bryan’s playing but am mystified at how he prevents the lower strings from ringing out when soloing on the higher strings. He doesn’t appear to be muting the lower strings with either hand.
He better! That drummer has complete control - the fact that they can sit back and play a simple beat shows that he also has control over his ego too Great drummer; they are all very talented!
Honestly the piano is so good that the bass is just taking attention away from it. Nothing against the bass player who is definitely a talented one, but this piece in particular deserves a simpler bass line to let the keyboard shine
Какое же оно всё однотипное, одни и теже концепции, гармонии, фразы, блин. Их самих не надоело эту муть гонять? И комент можно под это дело шаблонный оставить - найс грув, найс саунд. Фуфло.
...sorry but to me this sound too academic and not enough feel... blow through some scales and playing with no deep connection... of course after hearing Poncho Sanchez play this toon... this falls flat on its face... people need to start playing with their own voice... stop imitate go on and originate... this is terrible
As a bassplayer i like the piano the most. Nice voicings, the bassplaying is good.
Bryan Ladd, please record an album and make it available on iTunes. We need your music every day. Congratulations on your music.
Very Solid! Not a weak link in sight!!!
These guys are LOCKED in. Sounds great, gents
Great song!

They must be jealous.
That is called jealousy
I have no HUMAN LANGUAGE OR WORDS that can express how much i liked these music..really nice
That drummer's game-face is absolutely amazing
I will never tire of this.

They are absolutely great musicians . The drummer is really a standout !
3 Great musicians!!
Great stuff.

This song is fire!
This is so good.
Fantastic performances!
Beautiful, thx
sounds great
To anyone dissing this guy’s or any of their playing... we want to see your videos... it’s music not a damn football team and not a competition.
Feel my envelope, for it is filtered. Very tight groove.
love it....
My first time seeing Jason Patterson! So pocket. I need to jam with that guy! Super nice!
Smooth tune
I’m just gonna listen to this every day of the week just so that we can play it by ear
Wow, what an Awesome Jam! 👏🏼
KILLING IT BRYAN "BAD BOY" LADD!
Love this kind of bass!
Great song!
Song is “Cold Duck Time” ?
Amazing intro and amazing musicians!
Great!
Thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Bookmarked it. :)
My God, what a groove
Excellent bravo
Excelente, nossos ouvidos agradecem!!!!
Realmente brother !
absolute mad ladd
That is a great version of this song. I usually don't like the sound of Foderas too much, something about the pickup locations, but this one kills
muito legal o trabalho de voces, gostei
Nice jam session
Amazing spot on drummer....
show de bola parabéns pela pegada
Nice fat sound on that bass, just love it.
Holy shit in the middle ABSOLUTLY COOL 😁👍
So good
Nice!
This guy reminds me Patittucci in its early days...
Great sound, great feeling...
*except for the underwater duck part
Ahhhhh! As Carlos Santana says it: "Moooosic"!!!
Nice trio
Excellent Playing By All Your From My Neck Of The Woods Thank You For Turning Me On To Your Sound
Nice song and performance! The three of you. Is that great sounding bass a Fodera? Amp? Thanks, from Argentina, for a fine musical moment. Full of swing!
Super Badd Triiio!!!
I think the unsung hero is the keyboardist. Like damn
cool!
mean tone 😎
This what happens when you let music happen!
Increadible guys.❤❤❤❤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶👌👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏💎💎💎🧿🧿🧿🥃🥃🥃🪬🪬🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Bass player is awesome - no need for the cheesy effect @4:15
Someone should fine them a ticket for playing that good. :-)
Nice. . .
Great song and technique. Bravo. There are so many great musicians out there. If I had the resources, I would host and create a platform for musicians to perform live.
Dig it!
does somebody knows what program or hardware to use to record bass to sound clean like this !? besides the bryan and the ken smith lol
Every program and hardware can achieve that.
try to capture the sound of the speaker with microphone. that's what changed me
A gooooood DI! And simply a good player :)
What bass tone.
What is on his Pedalboard?
Fat sound for a trio. Would love to do this
I love Bryan’s playing but am mystified at how he prevents the lower strings from ringing out when soloing on the higher strings. He doesn’t appear to be muting the lower strings with either hand.
Ass kick!! Everytime black gay on a jazz drum set, when 22'kick & wood snare...I'd like this video, nice riff..
Billie Jean variation :)
🎶✔
you main bass bagus
Anyone knows the bass he is using?
Fodera Monarch 5
a Fodera Funk Refrigerator
Fodera tyrant
Jonathan See Fodera
Similar to Fourplay - Bali Run.. anyway sounds great though..
Is this a James Moreton track...
...John Patitucci's lost love child??
obviously a fan
Willy Franklin oh dats mean but there is a resemblance!
وهنا يدق الطبال ، والباسر .....и здесь ударник рулит,а басссер.....тхи кто послушайте Энквистел мегамастер
The drummer sounds like a metronome. Lol
Jakob Stafford the drummer IS a metronome.
He's playing exactly what the music needs, holding it down tight. What's the problem with that?
a metronomic drumer is a bass player's best friend!
He better!
That drummer has complete control - the fact that they can sit back and play a simple beat shows that he also has control over his ego too
Great drummer; they are all very talented!
Agree... his playing is so in control.. and constant.. right amount of strength.. good in his dynamics
Sounds like Forplay
Honestly the piano is so good that the bass is just taking attention away from it. Nothing against the bass player who is definitely a talented one, but this piece in particular deserves a simpler bass line to let the keyboard shine
Баста за пианино - это сильно
It's modern jaz or is it still blues?
Adam Mickiewicz Would this be “fusion” jazz maybe? Im such a noob with genres its embarrassing sometimes
Bass player looks like John Pattituci
good thing this guy practices scales.. because that's all he's got...
got any of your stuff we could critique?
A John Patitucci likeness ....no ??
Great player, the envelope was way too aggressive though, choking his tone.
What envelope ?
around 4:20. That effect is called envelope filter.
porm music :P
Nice Dave Grusin vibe.
51 people are not classic
Bassist lost me on the envelope filter!
The bassist was looking at the wrong musician
Какое же оно всё однотипное, одни и теже концепции, гармонии, фразы, блин. Их самих не надоело эту муть гонять? И комент можно под это дело шаблонный оставить - найс грув, найс саунд. Фуфло.
Sounds like the background music for an episode of How It's Made .. generic and forgettable
Finally someone who's not felating the vid and can stand back and be objective
First
...sorry but to me this sound too academic and not enough feel... blow through some scales and playing with no deep connection... of course after hearing Poncho Sanchez play this toon... this falls flat on its face... people need to start playing with their own voice... stop imitate go on and originate... this is terrible
Post your link so that we can critique it...
Got a similar impression just from the bassist. The piano's so good that it should take the spotlight rather
