In the early '90s, Michael Brandvold launched the fifth ever website on the Internet devoted to KISS, KISS Otaku. He built, launched and maintained Kissonline.com (KISS' official web presence). He now owns Michael Brandvold Marketing, providing marketing services and digital strategy to musicians. Tommy Sommers spent 15 years on the record show circuit collecting, trading and selling memorabilia / Kiss merchandise. He is now a successful residential Real Estate agent in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. Tommy has also produced a KISS song For The Oddfathers and is the owner of Rock Steady Digital Photography. Mark Cicchini, is a world renown KISS collector. KISS have used parts of Mark’s vast KISS collection for audio, video & print materials including their book NOTHIN TO LOSE, CD re release of the LOVE GUN album & the VH1 Ultimate Album KISS ALIVE! special as well as many other KISS projects. His wife also makes a mean meatloaf!!!

Just the fact that Vinnie was found and is feeling happy is enough for me to smile about.
my best VV story , he did a show in LA , Hollywood . and after the show when hang out in the bar , I went to the parking lot to get into my car , VV backed his Buick into it. I said " Ahh shit , my fender man!" , he got out and I did with my friend , " Oh Vinny , good show ! , well my car is old anyway ! " as I laughed. Vinny shook my hand and my buddy took a picture next to my fender with VV. Funny shit. Car is long since been gone , and I think my mom has the picture in one of her picture albums

I want vinnie to look Brandvold right in the eyes on stage and say, "yes.... I did it. I saved kiss" . That would be the funniest and most epic point ever... lol.... And I'd bet Brandvold would laugh hysterically. That, that is entertainment.

I first heard this on SoundCloud yesterday... that was how eager I was to hear it. I'm listening to it now too. 😀 My week has been not so great, with the hot weather almost driving me crazy, and an episode like this gives me something to smile about and take my mind away from my frustrations. September is my birthday month and my listening to this is like a birthday present to myself. In my opinion, the reason Vinnie would be cooperative when it comes to the expo is because everything is being handled professionally, courteously and respectfully, with a consideration for Vinnie's privacy. I have a good feeling about it. What I would like to see Vinnie do... I would like the question answered: "Why have you been so low-key for so many years?" and I would like him to be able to feel comfortable enough to give his feedback on some of the "interesting" stories other people have given about him.
I am sure that question will be asked

Vinnie was an awesome shredder... I would love to hear more from him! He only did two solo albums right?.... Because thats all I could find....
I would like to see Vinnie do a show with his guitar and convey how the songs he wrote for KISS were created e.g. what he, Paul and Gene each contributed to the creation of their songs...I know it would be from Vinny's perspective, but to the best of my knowledge I don't believe their is a lot of info about that...So pleased to hear TOC will be there! Been watching for several years and I look forward to meeting you all in person. Please let us know if there will be a TOC meet up of sorts prior or after the Expo! Be well and travel safely!

Great hair cut Mark! You look so much better. I cut my hair short two months ago after 32 years of long ass hair. It was down to my ass by 1994, then I had to slowly trim it back over the years because it got frizzier and frizzier. Life is so much better now. My showers are 10 minutes instead of 20. I am thinking one bottle of shampoo a year should do me. I might try the shampoo and conditioner mix all in one. No limits.
I Know it wont happen but it would be cool if Slaughter showed up and they did a Invasion reunion lol

Great show, guys! I hope he plays. If he doesn't play, I would surmise that he either hasn't played in twenty years, or perhaps he sustained an injury like Mark's old band mate in White Lion, Vito Bratta. I really like that Gene is getting out there and playing, why the hell wouldn't he? I'm assuming he's doing it because he really enjoys it and that tells me it'll be a great show. Keep it going Gene!

Count Stankus he was in process of burying them. This is one part of the story that Vinny was wrongly accused of. Can't speak to the domestic abuse stuff though.

I'm giving mine to wigs for kids in about a week, I use to give it to locks for love but the place I get my hair cut and give it went with wigs for kids a few years ago.

No, I actually had time to take a shower before we recorded. 99.9% of the time I am literally starting TSOTC the second I arrive home from work (which explains why I'm usually hungry/thirsty as the show starts as I'm coming off a ten/eleven hr work day) I would love to be able to get cleaned up before the show but I just do not have the time. Nope, hair still long just neatly pulled back without the aid of a baseball cap! Oh, and GO WINGS!!!
It looks shorter on top and I couldn't see the back, that's why I thought Maybe you cut it.
All I do now is pull it back in Ponytail and put through the back of my ball cap; and I'm sick of people coming up to me and thinking my hair is one of baseball caps with a pony tail attached !
Winter is coming and I hate going outside with semi wet hair and having it Freeze.
And it hurts like hell when you're sleeping and go to turn over and yank your hair in the process or it ends up in your Mouth.

SPOILER ALERT! You Have Been Warned! - Both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will be at the Atlanta Expo as special guests with a Q&A session. "The Brandvold ILK" will ask Paul & Gene "Did Vinnie Save KISS?". They will answer "Yes" and give their logical and truthful reasons why Vinnie did in fact save KISS. Upon hearing this shocking revelation for the first time straight from the horses mouths, the crowd will erupt in a victorious cheer, chanting "Vinnie! Vinnie!" ..Vinnie will then burst onto the stage in full Ankh costume and makeup brandishing his signature V guitar, interrupting the crowd with a shred-tastic rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Paul. This will be the queue for the concession stand cooks to begin serving Bacon Wrapped Mozerella Stuffed Grilled Shrimp en masse. Everyone will kiss and make up. It will be revealed later in the evening by Gene & Paul that Vinnie will rejoin KISS for a special one-night-only recreation of the KISS Creatures tour show in Rio De Janero, including full tank stage set and props, with the setlist including the full Creatures and Lick It Up album tracks, with an encore of a never-before-performed-live KISS version of "Back On The Streets" from the unreleased Creatures sessions, featuring Vinnie on lead vocals (ala Warrior), as well as "Unholy". The event will be pro-shot in ultra 3D-HD and recorded in 11.1 3D surround sound, and released on Blu-Ray in time for Xmas 2018. Bonus material will be the full show from the original Rio Creatures show from 83, plus a full show from the Lick It Up tour in Nashville from '84, plus audio outtakes and demos from the COTN and LIU studio recording sessions.

I believe VV did save KISS. Lick It Up is the record that reignited KISS and made them relevant again, and I believe VV had much more to do with it than Gene and Paul tell us. While Creatures is a good record, it wasn't a competitive record in the marketplace in which KISS was trying to compete. If you listen to the bands of the time like Ozzy, Van Halen and Scorpions, they all had catchy hard rocking songs with technically proficient guitar playing. I don't believe Gene or Paul knew how to compose this style of music at the time and they needed somebody to show them the way. That's where VV comes in. The songs on Lick It Up fit perfectly into the marketplace of 1983 hard rock. Yes I agree that taking the makeup off restored interest in KISS, but if KISS had taken the makeup off and released a song like Calling Dr. Love or Firehouse that interest would have gone right out the window. It needed to be a song like Lick It Up in order for KISS to compete again. I don't think it's fair to bring up tour attendance as proof that VV didn't save KISS either. After The Elder and Creatures KISS was a dead band, and nothing they did was going to bring them back to were they were in 77. They were basically at a dead stop and Lick It Up got the ball rolling again.

I also was at that place at Ceasars Palace in the Forum Shops. The place you mention in this video... I was there, and ALL the KISS stuff they had in the fancy frames... the autographes were so bad! I told the guy who was working that the signatures were all fake. He did not throw me out of the store right away like he did to the guy in the video... but instead he was friendly and insisted they were real because he got the signatures himself. When I took out my phone and tried to take pictures... he told me to leave. Very shady business!

Been there also...seen all the fakes, how they get away with it I don't know. Some of what you see on ebay are fakes also. The only way to be sure it isn't a fake is to get the autograph yourself. What blows my mind is the prices they ask...for a RARE autograph I can maybe see it, but KISS have signed approximately 5,889,023 items (last year alone LOL). Cool to have or get? Yup. Rare or worth a fortune? Nope. I can just see people handing Gene a $20 bill to sign, and getting back a signed $1 bill. LOL
Killer haircut btw. Lol. Also was never really Kiss fan. I bought lick it up, I liked the tears are falling video but that was about it. Def got into Frehleys Comet but now I have a new luv of all things Kiss 1970s! Great songs. I even started reading Paul's book which is great! So Ty.

Possibly because a signed guitar could be sold for a LOT of money, and he wouldn't get a cut of it. Or maybe he thinks it's a bit impersonal, compared to signing a photo, or an LP he played on.
Absolutely no, no, no. This would be great for the fans, but dealers ruin these kind of things. They just get autographs to sell the guitar (in a very high price, and you never know which one is authentic and which autograph is fake. photos tell nothing.). And believe me, in occasions like this there´s a LOT of them. This is why many artists do not do that. And I really do understand.

Questions:
How can VV afford lawyers?
How far into the yellow pages did you have to dig to find lawyers to underwrite a guarantee of 100% refunds in the event of a no-show?
What if people riot demanding refunds of money they sent for pre-orders for VV music that never came?
Lastly- which would you rather have? One million dollars cash, or this man's ball cap filled with nickels?

I imagine if Vinnie does shows up, he's going to have an awful lot to answer for, like why he laid low all these years, what he's been doing to get by and pay his bills, that cassette tape box set he sold back in the day that he didn't deliver on, if anyone is still making / selling his double V guitar, but especially so, we need to hear his side of the story as to why he split from Kiss and why the Invasion band fell apart.
