I won’t lie, at the beginning of the tutorial, I thought, this is lame I’m not trying this. But when you got the end with the portrait, my mind was changed. It was broken down to capture my interest! Definitely subbing now! Thank you!

Thank you for continually thinking out of the box and sharing those techniques with us, Blake. There is now way I will be using the "Rudis Glow" on my portraits without mentioning this video. Very impressed with the level of refinement this workflow offers and love the creative possibilities from those solid color/channel mix layers. Another masterclass, Sir!

@@f64Academy please keep it up, your sheer passion really shines through! One question: any reason why I should not change the blending mode of the initial base blur layer to SoftLight vs Linear? In my experience, the effect is a little too strong on color saturation/contrast in landscape shots. Maybe a matter of taste, but the shadows also lose texture and block up on my very contrasty scenes. I am hesitant to over-use the curve/level adjustment to retrieve those shadow details when using Linear Light. Thanks again!

Thank you for a very well explained and useful colour and light technique video. I have one question and apologise in advance. When experimenting with the luminance values through curves etc how do you know when you have pushed your highlights too far and they are clipped. I am familiar with the highlight warning in lightroom but never sure in PS particularly when processing for print?
