Hi, January 2018 this engine has done a lot of hours flying it's not so Smokey now just a puff when I open the throttle, I think the rich long run in time was worth the way this is running now. Little trick when starting from cold almost flood the engine with fuel attach glow and it will start. It's a Good buy
I used a heavy 15x8 prop, once run in set the slow speed needle, all my ASP came with rich settings there is no hard and fast rules on setting it but on 10% dynaglo about 1/4 in as I like it a bit rich untill it has a good few hours on it. hope this helps
Hello I use 10%(nitro) dynaglow when running in on all my engines I believe this has 18% oil, I to have an asp fs180 runs great on 10% nitro but the smallest prop I use is 16x8 largest 18x8 it seems to me that ASP like big heavy props. I hope this helps. Regards Dennis
Hi, It is a Four stroke running in on 10%nitro Coolpower (morgans) at the end of this video its only smoking on low RPM Becouse I tune the slow speed running in the airframe and run a bit rich . Thank you. Dennis
Hi there DJ! Thanks to your vid, I just got the Magnum .91FS and have been delighted with the power and idle. I have it in a Sig Smith miniplane and hope to post a vid when I get an hour on it and can start flying. I want to put an Asp or magnum in an 18 lb biplane but can't decide whether to use a 120 or 180. The 180 would be best power wise, but what size tank do I need for a 15 - 20 minute flight?
Hello Mr Just wanted 2 ask u did u have problems running this engine in on 10% nitro? I have just bought the ASP 1.80 FS with the 15x8 prop & ive been addvised 2 use 15 to 18% castor oil when doing the break in. Please can u give me addvise, Cheers ........Richi ......Islas Canarias......
Hi David, sorry for the delay I have been asking around as I dont have your Corsair, but the answers I got back say's it would pull like a train, one advised use a 3 blade prop, i hope this helps, but I can say there very good engines with an OS 4st plug mine have never let me down . Regards Dennis
Sounds fabulous! I could listen to that all day long
Thanks, I have a few of these engines now and they all work great.
