Our proudest gift to the world isthe the seekers #rip dearest judith cant imagine having grown up in the 60s without listening to and loving you the seekers Are the reason I love music so much ❤
Thank you Onyin for this beautiful reaction Judith was, for me, the most beautiful voice ever heard (with Kate Bush) Judith was an angel and Kate is a siren For more emotion, you could listen to the live version of "the carnival is over" from the special farewell performance 2014 (you should cry, just like i do!)
As a music lover since the 60s, this song indeed inspiring and emotional too especially those lyrics which represent the feelings of the singer herself
I saw them live on the 90's, Judith Durham was so tiny with such a huge voice, you would never know she had lung problems from childhood. She was a concert pianist as well. She worked in an office with one of the guys, they were looking for a girl to sing with the group, she was asked to go to a cafe, where they played. She asked permission from her dad, to go to england working on a ship, with 3 strangers, men in the band. If they were not popular they'd come back. They worked in the UK for years. The rest is history. Look up Georgy girl, Morningtown Ride, when will the good apples fall. From left to right, ? Potger, Keith Woodley wrote, I am australian, look for the farewell performance. Athol Guy plays the double bass.
For 50 years I have loved The Seekers. My heart is broken now that Judith has passed us by. A magnificent singer who could sing without any effort at all. Thank you Onyin.
Lead singer of the Seekers, Judith Durham passed away on 5 August 2022. A singer of rare talent and an Australian treasure. This is the song they nearly always closed their concerts with.
what a delight, rang a chord with me as I spent my working life at sea in the merchant navy, I was 20 when this song came out, I remember a girl in a foreign port to this day
The band was amazing but Judith was pure magic. I am so grateful for all of the videos that keep the magic alive and with us. Check out " I Am Australian" from their farewell tour. Beautiful.
This wonderful singer/artiste was an exquisite vocalist. What A Voice. She will be saddly missed.
Thank you, Judith Durham’s tone is just perfect.
R.I.P. Judith your voice was so pure, and a proud Aussie. No auto tune here, not needed when you have a voice like hers.......
A beautiful, heartbreaking song. Superbly written and a brilliant vocal performance.
RIP Judith Durham🕊️
Always moves me greatly, this song
