You look absolutely radiant today. Very peaceful. Thank you for taking the time to share your world and beautiful creations with us. I too have not touched my knitting for over a month but thankfully the weather has finally warmed up, the snow has stopped and I have been cleaning up garden beds and chopping ice to help mother nature along. Until we meet again....
Little William is so cute! Can’t wait to see what he’ll be wearing! I love the socks you made with handspun, the colors are beautiful. Those for your son are really cute, I love the yellow you dyed! The hat you made a few years ago is beautiful, even though it’s been born from a lot of little mistakes as you explained, it turned out really beautiful. I understand it is a hat you still hold dear today 😊 Can’t wait to see all the dyeing you’ll be doing. Thanks a lot for this sweet and inspiring time in your company 💕 I’m still knitting my onesie, which will be a little too big for the first month, I have to cast another one. I did not swatch so I only have myself to blame 😉 Take care of yourself and your family, sending you love from Normandy
That hat and all your handspun yarn are so beautiful Fran, I just spin worsted and hope for the best 😀you have a beautiful smile in this video, it’s so lovely to see you so happy ❤️
Wow, two episodes in a row--what a treat! I really enjoyed hearing some of your history with knitting and spinning. Very cool first MAL project from 6 years ago and a wonderful way to gauge your growth as a spinner. I too can see some of my growth from when I first started spinning 4 1/2 years ago. I've learned a lot more about what types of yarn are appropriate for different projects. It's crazy what I used to not know (and I'm sure what I still don't know!)
Thank you sweet Fran for a lovely and quiet Sunday morning spent in your company. Looking forward to seeing what you make next. Indigo vats intimidate me too! But one day...
Hello Fran, Delightful to see you back again so soon. When it comes to your knitted blanket, it may help you to think of how it connects you, at this time, to all the others of us who are knitting our own blankets. I find replacing negative connotations with positive ones helps ever so much and puts the control back in your hands. Great socks you have been knitting. I have yet to spin for socks and have some grey Corriedale I was thinking of trying, it is a little more sturdy than Merino. I'm unsure about the amount of twist to put in so will have to do some research into that. I have Rachel Smith's book on spinning for socks so will study that up. Socks can always be darned anyway. Your handspun colourwork hat is a masterpiece, just beautiful, maybe one of your children will grow into it. I would go for the indigo vat, what have you got to lose? Indigo is so special, Maria of Ninja Chickens podcast makes wonderful things from her indigo vats. I made a small one many years ago which involved using a pretty powerful acid but as long as we were careful it worked beautifully. I find the french sheep breeds you speak of very interesting Funny you should talk of blue mohair for bears, I have one I made. I have had a thing for blue bears since I had one as a child. Cheers, Jenny(NZ)
I was so happy to see another podcast from you! William is adorable! I cannot wait for your shop to open! Your bears are the most precious I’ve ever seen and made by a beautiful woman 💕
You seem really happy in this episode and I love it! I will be interested to see how you get on with dyeing, especially if you manage an indigo vat. I’m hoping to grow enough woad for a vat this year! And I really do love the way you talk about your bears; such affection for the details. ❤️
Beautiful handspun yarn. Now I must get back to my wheel, instead of neglecting it for other projects. Lovely episode and I loved all the extra photos and bits put in throughout the video.

Living in a country with very few native sheep breeds, I would love to see and hear more about those local to you.
