Your blankets are so lovely! I’m working on two crochet blankets too and find the ends a bit daunting to weave in, but I have to take it as just part of the process. Your creativity is so inspiring 😊
I'm really enjoying your daily videos (and no pressure to do them every day!). Thank you for taking the time and the vulnerability to share with us. Your calm presence is just what I needed today. It's been a rough day of pregnancy with a strong headache and very little energy. Your gentle projects and love for your children are things of beauty. Take care.
So much beauty. Thank you for sharing your vlogmas with us Fran, I love these snippets of your life, it is so generous of you to share it with us, the blankets are so lovely. Hope you enjoyed the pizza! warmest wishes as always xxx
That clouds have a silver lining is one of the tenets of my life, I‘ve always found it to be true, even in the worst situations. You have a lovely cosy and natural home and those blankets are just fab! The children will be so thrilled with them. It‘s lovely that they are empathetic, a little adversity is no bad thing for children, they take much in their stride and have many advantages over those who have never had a problem to deal with, these are important life skills. These days especially, children who have been very sheltered are growing up unable to deal with life and anxiety instead of meeting challenges and finding solutions, which I find rather worrying. Your intact and sensitive family is worth so much!
It's so lovely to see your podcasts and for you to be so honest about your condition. I love your toys and your crochet blankets. I am not a great ctochet person re patterns, but I love doing the rythme of granny squares. Take care. Thank for sharing. Regards.
Lovely video and I agree quality over quantity is key to balance. I love the rabbits and you will get them to how you want them to be. Your crochet blankets are beautiful! I can never have the same tension on my Granny squares. We have several striped blankets throughout the house and so warm and comfortable.
Fran, I also deal with mental health struggles, particularly anxiety disorder and depression. It is sometimes really hard to pinpoint what triggers a decline. I had a really horrible summer and early fall and was definitely feeling scared that I was going to get really bad again. I read something regarding depression, that, just like anxiety, it is better to accept it rather than fight it. When we fight it and get nervous of what might come of it, it actually causes our minds to plunge deeper. I practice this a lot with anxiety and panic, but had never thought to apply it to depression. I did, however, this fall and it really did help a lot. Also, my hormones are quite depleted due to my age, and once I got those stabilized, the depression went away. I just say all of this because I hope it encourages you to know that you are not alone in your struggles. And it sounds like you have a good handle on things! Also, I have dealt with all of this most of my life but it peaked in my late 20's and early 30's when my kids were young. That was hard and I experienced similar feelings as you regarding my kids being exposed to me during those challenging times. My faith really helped a lot, and looking back now I see how God really filled in the gaps and my children are wonderful, compassionate people.
Gently continuing catching up with you, Fran, this time weaving in ends, like you… I finished my knitting my Habitation throw late spring and probably because we had spent so much time together, I was ready to embark on something new before finishing it completely… half of them done now! What fabulous presents for your children!🌲
Keep going with your weaving in!! It can feel like such a chore sometimes but I find it so satisfying once I get started! I’ve heard of the habitation throw pattern, will have to look at it again…
Sending gentle higs to you as well. I appreciate a lot of you sharing the real life ♡ Looove your blankets! Both of them. I feel so inspired by all the blankets lately! What yarn are you using for yours? Since you said it's very warm, I guess it's some kind of wool. I have one blanket in progress as well. It has been in progress since 2018 maybe, so it's really time to finish it! I just wish my wrists were less sore of crocheting... Oh, and your cabled cardigan is very beautiful! It looks oks so cozy
I hoped you’d like the blankets - I have this funny thing where I love all the greys and beiges but also ALL the colours all at once! I’m crocheting with wool yarn, mostly DK weight, sometimes a bit of sport or worsted when it comes up. It’s all stash yarn, quite a lot that I’d naturally dyed but also some handspun. The only rule was no natural sheep colours except for the border - my children wanted All the colours and I was happy to oblige!! Sorry you get sore wrists when you crochet, that’s such a bummer! What weight is the yarn you’re using, I wonder if that makes a difference to you?
Hi it’s my first time watching. I hope your health will improve soon. I wish I had took better care of myself when I was your age and got my blood work done. Perhaps your eye could be low it is a real energy killer. It’s your whole body. I hope you return to health very soon. If you feel up to it perhaps a walk in the sunshine
Great to see you, Fran! I always find comfort in your videos. Thank you for sharing what you're up to these days. Love, love your cozy blankets. 💚💙💛
Your blankets are so colorful. I love grannie squares. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you .❤❤❤
