When exiting the video you could at least edit out the "Hey" part. ???

Hi there, nice video andd thnaks for the clarification. Now I have a Probleme with having multiple vendors and apps for multiple lights and switchs. For exemple. I have Smartlife and Cloud intelegent. When I say to google change color to Whilte, the smart life works great, but Cloud intellegence don't know what to do with that command...the same was for Magic Home. How to fixit?

Well, the best way will probably be to write a rule for each device, to convert it to the right format (HSB, RGB, etc..)..this is what I do with my LED strips. I basically have a Color Item that stores the color for my UI/Scene, and when that item changes, a rule translates the Color Hue value into an RGB JSON string that my LED strips take.

Hi do you have somewhere on GIT your configs and rules? It would be better then to "copy/paste" from a video...

Bruno De Vrieze - please check the description, I put a link to the associated forum post, with all items and rules available for copy/paste

Damn, if I ever get to redo my house (or move to a more modern one), I'll definitely work on something like this!

The benefit of these wireless systems is that you can do a lot of automation without making it permanently attached to the house :) I.e. if you buy some Phillips Hue bulbs, a couple LED Strips and a Google Home, you can pretty much do what I've done, and move it all to the next house...

Kind of dumb that it's an instructional video of somebody setting up the Google home and more than likely whoever is watching it will have one connected and he keeps saying the command word and making my Google go crazy didn't watch much of it because of that

+Travis Hooker - Headphones....or, the mute button on the Google Home? ;) But - point taken - it was one of my early videos and I didn't even think of the fact I would be causing issues with the viewers' Google Homes. Not much I can do about it now, unfortunately, as TH-cam doesn't allow post-editing/re-uploading videos without resetting all view counts/links....

Sorry about that - and good call! I will keep that in mind for my next video (I'm going to be showing how to use the HVAC/thermostat control functions)
