I haven’t eaten bread for 4 years now and I lost 150lbs. From 321lbs to 170lbs and I’m now 61 years old. No bread, pasta, rice, milk, or potatoes.

I stopped eating bread, pasta, potatoes and rice for a year with the following results: My acute sinusitis gradually disappeared! I no longer needed to use decongestants, antihistamines and steroids to get an uninterrupted nights sleep. Sinus infections also disappeared. Seasonal allergies are no longer severe! These problems had plagued me for 50 years. Oh, by the way, in addition, I lost 85 pounds over a 3 year period while following Dr. G’s dietary guidelines. After reaching my target weight, I have entered the most difficult part of my diet. Weight maintenance. My sensitivity to other lectins is no longer as severe as it used to be, as long as I don’t overdo it. Doctor G, in this podcast, describes how it works for him, and my reactions are similar.

The family wanted to go to a fairly well known spaghetti restaurant the other night. I went ahead and participated in the meal which included bread…and a plate of spaghetti. I was reluctant but didn’t show it on my face. It took me 3 hours to fall asleep from the effects of this bomb I planted in my system. I had an unfortunate allergic response which I survived but wasn’t fun. The less sugar, gluten, and lectins I consume amps up my sensitivity. This was a valuable lesson.

I'm a male, 5' 9'' tall, and weighed 150 lbs. when I gave up bread. Two months later, I lost 20 lbs. I thought two things: I had a aggressive form of cancer OR continued exercise and diet was the cause. Thankfully, it was the second. Want to lose weight, stop eating bread; want to gain weight, eat it.

This is for dr gundry or any one else that went through this. After listening to this I cut completely all sugars, processed carbs, breads, and everything he says in this video and I started getting a really bad headache and my brain felt like swollen and I kept waking up all night, I was lethargic. So I read that once we stopped eating processed carbs there is not as much sodium and we lose water. And causes electrolyte imbalance So I started taking electrolytes and I’m feeling a bit better. Are these detox symptom from stopping junk food ? Is this normal ? And how long does it last ? Thank you so much in advance for your help to whomever answers these questions. By the way in less than two weeks I lost like 7 pounds. I was eating way to much sugar, and potato chips and ally of junk.

No bread, no sugar, cut across to a long and interesting discussion about digestive issues, advising the cutting out of lots of small, peripheral things like peanuts and almond skins. Was there a third major food to cut out?
I feel as though I have spent long years avoiding wheat, with no benefit. Finally I gave up when my husband passed away suddenly when I was about to retire, and I just couldn't afford the alternatives any more. But, to get myself cooking again, I had a month of Green Chef low carb and keto meals. I haven't felt so healthy in decades! So much better than my miserable gluten free years.

    • @motomoto2296

All other carbs are minimal - no refined sugar, etc. I believe there are no good foods, there are no bad foods, just inappropriate amounts. I don't fret over 1 tiny piece. You must do serious fasting ASAP! Cancer is curable with fasting. You can’t eat period. Only water, bone broth. Check Dr. Eric Berg testimonies of cancer patients who came on his podcast and cured themselves with fasting. These people had a serious intent to live and sacrificed the food. Their body went and attacked the cancer cells once they started to get desperate. The body will attack whatever is foreign to it and the cancer will disappear. I’m very serious . My concern is that Dr Gundry has a web site where he sells his products and makes probably millions of dollars. How can he be trusted when he has a huge financial motive to say what he says???
I have gout, high blood pressure (controlled for 40 years), high cholesterol (controlled for 40 years), borderline diabetic (in and out of pre-diabetic status for 40 years) so am very concerned about my diet. Gout is my biggest issue now, but I am also concerned with sugar intake. But there are sooooo many opinions out there!
I need someone I can trust, preferably someone who is more concerned about me, not what goes into their pockets!

I have MS. I was put on 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 as soon as I was diagnosed.
There have been studies that loosely correlate vitamin D deficiency in mothers with children who later developed MS.
I went to my daughter's OB, armed with hard copies of the studies, to talk to her about D3. She thanked me for calling her attention to it and said she would look into incorporating D3 into her protocol for expectant moms.
My daughter took 10,000 IU of D3 throughout both of her pregnancies. Will that keep my grandkids from getting MS? We don't know. No definitive cause for MS has been found. But we have taken all the steps that we're aware of to help insure that they don't.
Side note: All of her babies were C-section. None of them seem to have had any immune issues. Could this be because their mom was NOT vitamin D deficient during pregnancy?

The main consequence of vitamin D toxicity is a buildup of calcium in your blood (hypercalcemia), which can cause nausea and vomiting, weakness, and frequent urination. Vitamin D toxicity might progress to bone pain and kidney problems, such as the formation of calcium stones.

I make my own bread and it doesn't contain ANY grains or sugar. I make my bread from "fathead" dough and it's delicious. There are recipes on the internet for fathead dough and the recipes vary so pick one that doesn't contain the no-no ingredients and get cookin'! Fathead bread is the easiest and fastest bread to make. In fact, I make the one that does not require softening the cheese in a microwave. I just throw all the ingredients into a food processor, shape the buns (or whatever I'm making with it) and pop it into the oven... except when I want to make it with yeast, which I rarely do. But when I do, I allow it to rise in a WARM oven (lowest setting) before tuning up the heat to bake it. WARNING: This bread is so addictive that you may not be able to stop eating it. Why? Not for any addictive ingredient, but for the fact that it's the ONLY bread you'll ever want. So if you eat a lot of bread, you may think you're addicted to this one.

Dear Dr. Gundry, I have not eaten sugar (including from fruit) or bread for more than 30 years. My doctor told me I had to do this for my fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, I am very sick. I am allergic to lectins and only found out from you recently and my experience. I want to eat the currants you recommend. But currants have sugar as fructose. Should I eat it anyway?

It was quite concerning that there was a recall on a number of popular sunscreen lotions saying they cause cancer. I know people that have sunbathed all their life without a problem . One of my clients 20 yr old daughter hid from the sun and bathed herself in suntan lotion, she’s had skin cancer 3 times.

Arthritis and any other joint pains and deformations come from poor cleansing the body from inside! If every one drinks warmwater with half lemon squeezed in first thing in the morning and take alternating hot-cold showers and massage the hurting joints, very quickly will get rid of joint inflamations and pain! Speaking from own experience.
