Best version and performance of this song I'll bet. Ian will always have his style down magnificently. And even manages to improve on perfection to everyone's surprise, I know.
I love this Tull line-up. They all sound great together and they had a really good chemistry. Just makes you wonder what the hell happened in Ian's head when he drove them all away.
My friends don't understand why I don't try to make peace with my family. They have no way of understanding the situation, and it's none of their business.
I cannot stop watching this video it just brings me so much joy. They just don’t make music like this anymore and probably never will. No wonder Rush was inspired by them.
I guess maybe this happens to all musical geniuses eventually, but this reminds me of Paul McCartney going through the "My music is so good that the lyrics don't matter" phase, i.e. Someone's Knockin" at the Door. Ian Anderson and his friends could literally make any lyric into a great jam.
First time I've come across the Legend singing about chubsters. Excellent! Didn't think Iain could get any higher in my respect but then I find this. Wonderful. I believe it's off the second album? Going to go for a run now to celebrate exercising my heart to reduce the risk of not being around for my children when they may need some more money...
i smiled all the way through this martin barr on flute oh what joy tull bought to this world.
That was AWESOME!!!! Excellent jam with great musicians. Love Jethro Tull.
Year 2020! They nailed it!!!
Year 1999 (2000)
Wonderful version of a great song

There's a really nice version of this from November 1983. Ian Anderson, Dave Pegg, Peter John Vettese and Martin Barre...
Very pleased with this one, really good form...
My favorite Tull tune.

I think Ian kept finding younger guys that were better....
This is Jethro Tull's last great lineup
Wonderful!!!!!
I like Jonathan Noyce's profoundly virtuosic authentic period shaker performance in this.
this is how I remember them. Awesome chemistry.
Tull is ultimate!
Glorioso! grande Remy

Real men. Real musical men. Free me sweet song. I see the other side to being thin!!!💋
I'm a fat man and I freaking love this.
Minha banda até hoje preferida....viagem eh eh...
Ian Anderson looks like the Alton Brown of Rock... yeap, that's something
Can Ian play every instrument ever invented?
Yes he can, it’s because he sold his soul to a faerie in the 14th century
Bravo
Never knew Martin Barre played the flute
He was a flautist before he was a guitarist. He also used to be an architect. He's a very interesting fellow.
Had to do a triple-take. More amazing than ever.
He is credited with flute on the album this song is on..a long time ago..
Anyone know the mando tuning? FCFC? GDGD?
FCFC
Awesome, cancel culture would kill this now
This is a mandatory side quest.
Ian has said this song is about original Tull guitarist Mick Abramson....
teamwork bwoyz......THATS THE TICKET!!! RIBBITT!
Look how skinny Martin Barre is. He’s the one playing the flute
Wonder if that is Martin Barres mandolin that Iain is playing!
Could be that or it's his own.
old time sumpin/sumpin com-again! pass the gravy! burp!
Martin Lancelot an der Querflöte. SENSATIONELL.
Outstanding live performance of this Tull classic. ❤
Makes me want to buy a cheap Mandolin and nail the track.....
Fats will never recover from this
Sounds a lot like Middle Eastern music.
I will move out for you
well as a thin man... fat women love thin men... but thin women?... not so much.... I love on the uncovering of the secret weapon, the horn :D
Claghorn I think!
I thought martin barr had a falling out with ian anderson years ago. Good to see them together
Is this the only footage on TH-cam of Ian playing mandolin?
No. Look after jethro tulls"the whistler".
Any gear heads commenting here know which brand guitar Martin Barre is playing?
And not in the R&R HOF.
I got cool people for you
