Ok, that’s great info. Cold weather can cause electrical glitches within system. We lost power in February and our house temperature got down to 39*.
Once power came back on, I told wife that the indoor temperature must be back to room temp (69*) for a minimum of 48 hours before introducing power back to tv.
Most people would say 48 hours is an extreme however knowing what we know about cold temperatures and electronics…it’s our minimum wait time.
Temperature changes arn’t that friendly to electronics. You may have a faulty main board or ribbon wiring due to operating tv in different temperatures…🤔

The TV is full and showing a sign of damage at its edge. It has a line of impact at its top left edge. But as I type this we just noticed that those lines it was showing previously has considerably reduced. Like before we were unable to see anything beneath the affected area but now we can see things under the lines(like they are fading away) though the line of impact is still visible. I don't know if this is false hope or the situation is improving... Thank you so much for your response

Started using the spare TV (SONY KD-55XE8596) again as I waited for my replacement for the main TV to arrive (Recently broken), It has been working perfectly fine for the past 4-5 days until this evening when I turned it on and there was a big black line running vertically through the tv and horizontally about 3/4 of the tv but much smaller. These lines originate from what looks like an impact point, but I don't see how it could've been impacted by anything and there is no visible or tangible crack to the outer panel. I know it's not glass so it would be difficult to notice it as there's no shatter or debris, however, you would at least expect there to be a dimple or something where the impact happened, but there isn't.
This tv is quite old so im not sure if its worth bothering to replace it, but is it possible that its just the electronics and not actually an impact caused fault.

We've been trying tips and hacks to prevent spending money, we're not experts and we want to know if it's possible to fix a Tv without taking it apart.
Are there any ACTUAL life hacks that may help? Or will we have to buy a new one...
The cracks have split diagonally, and the cracked side switches from black to white, the cracks are internal and can not be felt from the outside, we tried one life hack which was to take a damp cloth and lightly run it against the screen, this seemed to make it worse.
So far that's it, we won't try anything until we receive a response on what to do, you guys seem professional and very helpful!

From here, you can perform a thorough DIY cleaning of all internal parts in hopes that this will fix sporadic screen behaviors such as vertical & horizontal lines.
If a thorough DIY cleaning does not do the trick, it will be time to start replacing common cause parts attached to the internal portion of your TV.

A few things come to mind however being completely dark/off usually indicates a loose or disconnected connection point.
By chance did your home experience a power outage within the last 10 days? Power outages and/or power surges when power is restored to your home can cause serious havoc to your TV’s internal electronics.
We would start by opening up the back panel and inspecting for any loose connections or any signs of damage (Overheating/melting/burning) areas.
If all looks good, we would do some friendly cleaning. Below are some helpful videos.

I think the more the device is in the higher quality range, the higher price is paid for parts. There are though, model number TVs (usually one model number on either side of the model number you have) that may work. The time that you may run into annoying issues is when the tv software is being updated…it may fuss a bit however just keep pressing (try again) until it updates.

I'm not impressed, and insurance isn't cheap. It may be my fault. I did lay it down and cleaned it wrong a few times, or it's just a random fault smh. I'm so sad it was my fav item 😢 now I can't use it. Tv insurance itself gets pretty expensive after the models over two 2yrs, and now they are adding on an excess charge to cover themselves as people are insuring faulty tv's and then making immediate claims bar humbug 🤨

@DIYwithMichaelBorders nothing on a screen panel. Unless I'm over looking and my problem is a board. There's heat damage inside on both the left and right boards and the image is there but it's cracked on the inside?

Yesterday, putting my tv on a rack and my cat since it loves being devious it bit my leg and the tv fell out of my hand and it dropped. When it dropped my heart sank because that tv i bought 3-4 yrs ago was 600$. It was my first tv, and when it dropped i started to cry😂i tried calling best buy to see if the warranty i had on this tv was still active, and sadly there was nothing under my name or my moms name, so most likely its an email i dont use or phone number🤧

I'm glad she missed the Boy and they both been Band from using metal or Glass Cutlery. for obvious reasons they can be dangerous near kids when they lose their temper. However the Damage was quite expensive a Huge screen sitting their begging for something to hit it. and it got what it wants. I highly recommend Projector TV if you have kids but don't know if they're as good and LED? I don't think Warranty cover it I haven't tried to claim and TV was purchased 5 Months ago.

It’s not right to gibberish on closed captions i can’t understand and trying to replace part on my tv but i feel not very comfortable with your videos because i don’t want to risk to fix them without instructions through closed captions. I want to read them to tell me how to replace parts but i will not do it because its not safe to do it without the closed captions. Closed captions is very important and not being funny and cannot gibberish or confusing and can leading be very dangerous or harm someone and prevent big mistake damaging my tv. Please retype this closed captions first. It important for me to read them.
