But i want add that... locomotive+ coach & train sets both have their advantages... because with train set you get advantage of quick acceleration and deacceleration & Good regenerative braking... compared to conventional single locomotive...
but there is increase in auxiliary load... because you can't place transformer in every coatch.. so transformer is only in coach with pentograph.. so your LV cables runs longer.. you need inverter in every coatch.. you need cooling fans & pumps in every coach which increases total power consumption..... so it's only benefit when you have frequent start Stops... like in every 10-60/70 km .. for longer distance like 100+ km in single run.. conventional loco will win the efficiency race... & acceleration & braking not metters too much..
Hope our railway ministry understand this.. & run vande Bharat like train on shorter distance & Tejas like locomotive coupled trian on longer routes...
