It’s best to not use boiling water when using honey for it destroys some of its properties. Just hot water before it boils works better. Thank you I will be trying this for sure.

Wow, I came across this video while trying to find something else and since I have all these ingredients I made it today! I absolutely love ginger and make ginger tea (from the root) nearly every day! City dweller (Los Angeles) here but with a lemon tree in the back yard! So glad I found this recipe!

I juiced and froze all of my turmeric and ginger. I will thaw a cube of ginger and make a teapot full of this magical elixir. Just what Mother Nature ordered.

A friend gave us a huge bag of beautiful lemons from their yard. They are blemish free, large, thin skinned and not full of seeds. I made lemon marmalade, lemon curd and still had a bunch left over. So I made this recipe and I absolutely love it. At night, after supper when I finally sit down to relax is when I get a cup of this ‘tea’. I am really enjoying it.

I’m 66yrs old and we always had a hot honey and lemon drink made by my mum everyday.
We never got ill, she also gave us a spoonful of something called liquafruter every day it was dark brown in colour but we loved it as we’d had it from a very young age, my friends always said I stunk lol.
Apparently it was garlic based, who knew that garlic was good for you in the 60s 😉

With a glut of lemons it seemed reasonable to give this a try. I had no fresh ginger but used powdered, and it’s amazing! I use it in soda stream water and as a hot drink - it’s a huge advance on the straight honey in the cup with lemon juice and the ginger gives it a zing. Many thanks this is a great morning and evening drink.

I have made sliced lemons in honey in the fridge this way, and it lasts quite a while, like several months. Cut the slices into wedgy shapes to fit a LOT in the jar. Every bit of lemon has to be touching honey, so don't skimp with the honey. A generous spoonful of these lemon chunks is really great in a big mug of hot tea, sweetening it nicely and providing a very sophisticated lemon taste. Make sure you eat the lemon at the bottom of each cup! It's super-lemony goodness. I really love this condiment.

Cool. Definitely going to try this idea. I have fermented garlic in honey before. Better make a huge jar in preparation for winter.

Yummy. How should we store this and how long will it keep before going bad. Have you ever used these lemons and liquid to cook with? like maybe a chicken dish?
