Bro, this lucid can easily eat anyone's breakfast.. I don't think there's any other full size sedan that has all the luxury or comfort and weight that can take it on.. this thing is faaaaaaast.
The Lucid is the fastest electric car out of the limited edition million dollars worth cars. It's absolute king. Range, speed, acceleration. The down side are the looks tho. It's not bad by any means, just isn't good.
Despite this being the more sensible test (both are 4 seaters) I’d still love to see what the Weissach could do. It should at least be a little closer. Hats off to lucid!
Well let's hope so, the Weissach Turbo GT has the same awful daily usability as your average supercar. How pointless to make a big sedan with four doors, cancel the rear seats and then put it on extreme tires only to be as fast as a 500-ish hp 992 GT3 on most tracks...
Considering the Lucid Aid is a spacious, comfortable family sedan, I would love to see what they would create with a true supercar to equal the Turbo GT
The fact that it kept pulling away as though the Porsche was an ICE car is simply insane, the Porsche beat the Plaid, easily. That's saying something for the Sapphire
Good job by both drivers, timing the braking and the tightness of the turns, there was a lot of speed they had to brush off, the Lucid just looked a bit quicker everywhere.
It doesn't really make sense when the 2nd race the porsche was a car ahead of the lucid and then after the turn it was miles ahead and by their own stats they pretty much have equal G force.. alot of it comes down to driving when races are this close. He braked so early .

Even with a track pack, the plaid cannot keep up with this car in the corners, let alone in a straight line. So it is a cheaper car for much less performance overall.
@ idk about much less performance, we are talking 2 seconds here after all, it’s basically at the same level as the 2nd and 3rd place. There is a gap sure, but the fact that the plaid is under 100k and still competing on the same level with all these cars is nothing short of insanity.
@@pouyaoskouie6350 Well it was the track pack version that competed at the same level, it would be lower performance without the track pack for turning and braking. It does have the same power in terms of straight line acceleration though.

Exactly! People are acting like it was a complete blow away. That Porsche is the only car I’ve seen that hung with it outside of the Bugatti and Rimac both beating it.
I mean that’s the new taycan though. Like the 2025 refresh top dog. Against a car maker that started making cars in 2022… like it’s not a matter of it barely losing it’s a matter of lucid dethroning the top dogs that have been doing it for wayyyyy longer
With EVs the game changed. It's much easier to build an electro motor + Lucid founder worked at Tesla, who have much more experience than Lucid existed. I bet Lucid wouldn't be able to keep up if ICE engines were the norm without alternatives, especially against Porsche. And that's why China is now building competitive vehicles. We live in a different world now.
I've had my Sapphire for about 7 months now. I daily it and it's the best car I have ever owned. You do eventually get used to the speed though. Whenever I drive my 720S, it feels slow and clunky in comparison (it is more "raw" though, driving that is an occasion. Meanwhile I go to Publix in my Sapphire) I am happy that the car is the biggest sleeper ever and attracts zero attention. Outside of an automotive event, I've only been approached twice on the street by people asking if my car is a Sapphire. Which is not a bad thing, I'd probably be in a bit more trouble if it did attract attention. Funnily enough, other than a Lucid event, I have yet to see another Sapphire in person besides mine. I've seen more McLaren F1's in person than Sapphires.
Awesome, impressive Lucid. Anticipating ICE ZR1 vs the EV top dog. We need a F1 in here at some time vs Leader Board top 3. Should be right up Red-Bull's alley.
Gents. When you up shift the paddle after you brake you get an additional 120KW for 10 seconds! Results are not factually correct because it wasn’t done! Taycan didn’t show its true position and would have won. Easily.
Good race. Why was the push to pass button not used in the porsche after the turn though? U guys never even mentioned it. Seems like it was forgotten. The weisach pack variant will probably beat the lucid though.

@@nabushdinosaure well I think they can def improve the time they got with more runs under its belt. Yeah you could see the Porsche losing time on exit with some slight oversteer, Sapphire 2 rear motors and crazy traction control is unbeatable out of corners on top of on roll acceleration.
I think each run we see is cut together from several runs. There are other inconsistencies, but the Lucid doesn't out-brake the Porsche.
I think in the first race they used the push to pass on the way back while in the second they used it on the first leg.
Bro, this lucid can easily eat anyone's breakfast.. I don't think there's any other full size sedan that has all the luxury or comfort and weight that can take it on.. this thing is faaaaaaast.
Don't care for EV's at all, but man that Porsche was punching! over 400 hp down and it was that close.
Porsche has over 1000hp but its limited and can't use it hole time...
Have you ever driven an EV?
The Lucid is the fastest electric car out of the limited edition million dollars worth cars. It's absolute king. Range, speed, acceleration. The down side are the looks tho. It's not bad by any means, just isn't good.
Agree on the looks!
That lucid is mad
Considering the Lucid Aid is a spacious, comfortable family sedan, I would love to see what they would create with a true supercar to equal the Turbo GT
Uhm, they are both 4 seat sedans. This isn't the Weissach Package version. Just saying.
Lucid will be bankrupt long before then ... and Mr Rawlinson may be missing his fingers
My goodness. That lucid is insane 🤯
Duh, don't you see the horsepower difference? Plus the Sapphire has tri motor

Lucid is king. People said Tesla was car 2.0, but then Lucid is Tesla 2.0.
It literally demolishes everything and the interior is huge.
the price is a bit of a killer though, a plaid still seems more worth it. You basically get the same performance but for less than half the price.
@@pouyaoskouie6350 I agree that the price is absolutely huge and the plaid is definitely a huge discount compared to this car. However, as Edmunds proved in its own new drags, the plaid does not have anywhere near the performance of this car as this car puts a literal football field sized gap on the plaid.

@ lets see on draggy not this stupid race
Zr1 isn't doing better than 29 some secs guaranteed. So Lucid for sure is still top dog.
Love the Saturn hat. What a throwback.
Gents. When you up shift the paddle after you brake you get an additional 120KW for 10 seconds! Results are not factually correct because it wasn’t done! Taycan didn’t show its true position and would have won. Easily.
This was super exciting to watch
Good race. Why was the push to pass button not used in the porsche after the turn though? U guys never even mentioned it. Seems like it was forgotten. The weisach pack variant will probably beat the lucid though.
These guys drove this car below its potential 100% - the Lucid is an absolute BEAST though
You are delusionnal thinking the Weissach package would shave 1s vs the normal one. Only difference is minor weight difference. If it shaves the time by 0.2-0.3s this would be the max.
@@nabushdinosaure well I think they can def improve the time they got with more runs under its belt. Espically with the saying it took more skill to turn the corner and a 9.3 QM is slow for the turbo gt. It's capable of 9.1 without the weisach package. But as far as straight line acceleration and track times the wesiach pack is the new top dog over them all. The lucid was overheating after just 2 runs in this video
@@G82Watts The Taycan can do 9.1s on the dragstrip. The Lucid can do 8.9s on the dragstrip, so 9.2s is slow as well for it. The weissach package is only 150 Lbs lighter which will give a marginal performance difference in straights and corners (like all weissach packages on P cars). Yes it will be faster, but just a little... Also the Lucid has very good cooling , clearly not overheating in 2 30s runs like that...Even a Lucid air dream can lap the Nordschleife without overheating, and it's not sapphire cooling... It clocked 2min44s on VIR on PS4S tires, this is an extremely fast car in corners as the max G's shows, marginally better than the Taycan. On equal tires, I'm sure you can expect identical lap times from those cars. Not removing anything from the Taycan GT, but the Sapphire is on par.
