    All good valid points. The only thing you left out is community. With the last unrest in KZN, I was on the frontlines of this and I can tell you that you are a lot stronger standing as a community then staying alone or running alone. Our area was untouched by looting despite them trying from several angles. We stopped it in its tracks. Yes I know this only relates to unrest and some disaster events but community and numbers are what count. Being alone can only last for a short time unfortunately. Best to team up with a small group ok like minded people and grow a plan together. Bug in with your community or bug out with your team. :-) Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming 🙂

      Oooh I like that last line... Bug out team! Sounds like a good plan. In my community we've got a couple of like-minded people and every now and then the discussion pops up over a braai. Where we are going, who's coming and what resources each one has. You guys in KZN have an advantage because you've had the reality check that most people lack. Keep sharing your advice and thanks for your comment! C

    I can’t believe I just now came across your channel. Especially figuring how many preparedness and survival channels I watch. And I love your accent! Also, I heard a lot of great information in the video. A lot of people in the states talk about living off grid or in the mountains. Well I live in East Tennessee near the smoky mountains. And I remember when the fires happened here near Gatlinburg. It happened fast. And spread really fast! People were driving through smoke and fire trying to leave and died. Vehicle tires melted! Engine blocks were found completely melted! Some of the roads melted! It was crazy! So, people need to listen to your video and take heed! You can’t always stay! There are times you have to grab gear and go!!! And you definitely have a new subscriber! I’ll be going back and watching your other videos! And I love seeing women learning to take care of themselves and being self sustaining. I think more women need to do that! There’s no reason they can’t or shouldn’t! God Bless you and your family!

    Good day! First time viewer and I wanted to say thank you for a very well thought out video and thank you for sharing your faith. I’ve been following this path for as long you’ve been alive and it’s refreshing to see a young lady such as yourself with clear vision and forethought. Your parents must be proud! Most of this is prefaced for your viewers and less towards you, as I’m quite sure you understand things clearly.
    Certainly an Overland setup will be a great advantage in the beginning. But at the end of the day, we’ll likely be on foot with whatever we can carry. And on the topics of different bags, all of them must be tailored to your specific location and seasonal conditions.
    First you have the “Get Me Home” bag. Designed to get you to your home from wherever you may be traveling. Most likely from your place of work.
    Next is the classic “Bug Out” bag, intended to get you from one location to another location that is already stocked with provisions. Still very similar to the “Get Me Home” bag, but it may need to be setup for longer duration/distance depending on where you have to bug out to.
    And lastly and probably most importantly is the “I’m Never Coming Home” bag…or the “INCH Bag”. This is going to be the largest and most comprehensive of all of the bag types, as it is intended for you to live out of it in perpetuity. With this in mind, the loadout is going to be substantially different than the other bags. You’re packing for long-term survival with little consideration for resupply. So your tools and supplies have to be geared towards living off the land and for long-term durability.
    Without having a pre-set bug out location, when you decide to strap on your bag, you are walking away from all of your resources and in effect are becoming a refugee. That’s why bugging in is the better choice to start with….but knowing when to bug out is the harder part and where wisdom comes into play. As was pointed out very clearly in this video, urban areas will have less time to react/respond to a situation than people who are living in a rural setting. Choose where to live accordingly!
    Get to know like-minded people in your area or your church. A Mutual Assistance Group, or MAG, is the way to survive. You need to have enough people in your MAG to make survivability possible and a group of close friends with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds is the best answer.
    Be strong in your faith and keep your skills sharp!
    Cheers!
    1st Corinthians 16:13 - Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Thank you so much for your comment, it's a nice outline of how to prepare realistically. The INCH bag is something I can cast more light on, thanks for the suggestion. Most of all, I think our faith is important, even that which we haven't managed to prepare God will provide. I believe He has given each individual specific tasks and preps to see to, together we make up a whole. C

    Great video. Great advice. I agree with you about guns and ammos. I want to ask these people what happens if the aggressors own a rocket launcher? What about a tornado or wildfires heading toward their homes? Are they going to shoot a tornado. I own a sling bow with a 40lb draw weight. It's enough power to nail any aggressor to a wall. IMO, it's better to bug out than to bug in when danger comes. Thanks for sharing.

    Your videos are always well put together.
    To bug in out bug out like you said is a hard decision.
    So many variables to think about.
    Each individual had to look at there location and think of what they would do in many different scenarios.
    As you said it’s good to be prepared to do either scenario.
    Kids, elderly, pets, handicapped are just a few things that have to be thought of.
    Bugging out with a group that has reversed different scenarios should do well.
    Earthquakes and mudslides, tsunamis are instant.
    All municipalities have local disaster plans set up. It’s good to research this information to see what has been put in place.
    Information such as blood type, medications, copies of cards, passport, birth certificate, drivers license etc should be kept with bugout badge.
    If you become injured this information will help treat you if there is a medical team or disaster team set up.
    Government disaster plans can only help a little. It is important that individuals prepare ahead of time for disasters and use government disaster groups only if needed.
    There will always be people who live from day to day, not being prepared for any disasters.
    Heavy populated areas are convenient when times are good but this is a nightmare during a disaster to live in a populated area.
    As always Clarise, your videos get people thinking.
    It’s important to keep changing, adding our improving your bugout or bug in plan as your community changes.

      @LiveReady  ปีที่แล้ว

      Jack, so many important considerations in your comment. You have excellent knowledge from an organisational perspective and I think most of us overlook the emergency services' SOPs during a disaster, but they're not comprehensive enough to cater for the individual. Thanks for casting some light on this, it's good to be reminded. C

    Great advise my friend. The only thing I would add would be a Silky folding saw to replace the hatchet.. That with a robust fixed blade to baton can do wonders for processing wood for fire and shelter. You could even save weight in your load out by ditching the hatchet. Keep the great info coming and God bless you my friend.

      Daniel, not sure if you're in the U.S., but I recently put in my 1st test order on Temu and my 1st impression is very good. It takes longer to get your stuff, but the prices make it affordable to build out with the basics first (then upgrade pieces accordingly) and/or put together extra cache kits or go/get home bags.
      Much of the merchandise is about the exact same stuff sold on Amz, but SO much cheaper. I even got some Bluetooth earphones buds that were quite decent for way less than ten bucks.
      I don't know how they make money selling stuff so cheap, but they are making it work, I suppose. Win-win for everyone with the exception of the planet (consumerism, more stuff, more garbage).

      Good question and it's really good that you are preparing on behalf of your pets! I have the same issue, so I have taught my cat to travel. She even camps with me. I also posted a video on pet preparedness that you can have a look at. The best thing is just to make them used to moving around. It takes a bit of work and you'll need to get a harness. It will be strange to both of you in the beginning and then you'll find that cats are actually very adaptable. The only trick with a cat is that you can't let it off the leash. C
