That's a lot of work, but the completed chassis will be almost as satisfying as the finished car. There's something beautiful about a bodiless Beetle all fresh and clean 😙💨
Hello Russel, thanks very much for your very kind words. I try my best at seventy I’m still learning. Chatting with very nice people like yourself makes me very happy. Thank you!
@@philp4842 oh I’ll be happy to start the fun stuff. I am happy with the progress. Next video I’m going to show all the new chassis stuff. I have I believe everything to make it new again. Two I hope improvements. Top line pro adjustable front suspension and front disc brakes. Also all new rear suspension stuff. Feels like Christmas. 👍
I was surprised the main metal fuel line wasn't rotted out. You did the right thing, by replacing it now. Sorry, for being wrong about the tunnel cover. I didn't know it had a different shape near the frame head area. You did a great job on making it fit a super Beetle. Next time I'll look for more information. Cip1 was right.
You weren’t wrong, Cip1 should say it fits with a little modification. Heck it could be pressed to the shape. Well anyway I’m glad it worked out. I was shocked at the inside tunnel area. Much better shape than I expected. The fuel line seemed great but you never know. Ok buddy great to hear from you. Have a great weekend. Today is a lazy day for me.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle I have been pushing it. Thanks I do need my days off. Problem is I want to keep at it but I do need the breaks. Time resting. Ty buddy!
@@busterstravels1534 This video might be the only one on youtube, showing how to modify the Beetle tunnel cover, to fit on a super beetle tunnel. It should get a lot of views. Maybe you can add (tunnel cover rebuild) to the title, to help others find it easier. Just my opinion.
No Ben I didn’t. I personally don’t like weld thew primer..I will be using seam sealant. I have used weld trew at times but for some reason I’m not crazy about it.

Thanks Bud, it is a ton of work but as you say it is satisfying to see it slowly coming together. 👍🤓
You Sir are the Picaso of VWs great quality as usual mate.

You're right, about that.
@vintage76vipergreenBeetle changed the title. 👍
@@busterstravels1534 Looks good.
Hi Dave that is some great work 👍 😊
Ty Keith feeling great about the progress. 👍🤓
I like how it came out nice job David 👍
I still need the horns finished and a few more little things then I’ll be ready to paint and start assembly. Can’t wait! 👍
That was another super satisfying video! Luckily, my tunnel doesn't need all that but it is still cool to see inside like that.
I expected it to be a lot worse.
Lovely Dave. Nearly there on the crap stuff, not long before you start bolting on your goodies 👍🏼

Hi Dave, great work Sir. Question, did you use weld threw primer on the back side of the tunnel cover and flanges?
No Ben I didn’t. I personally don’t like weld thew primer..I will be using seam sealant. I have used weld trew at times but for some reason I’m not crazy about it.
