Thanks guys for another fun talk through! I'm taking my KO to their first RTT in a few weeks. Hope to 3-0 with a Mhornar list that brings along two stormdrakes!
My list had 3 khemists and 3x10 thunderers (you were missing the last unit in your slide). The endrinriggers go in the boat as a melee reaction piece and the thunderers are all on foot with a khemist each. It's not an alpha strike list. It just moves up the board slowly and kills stuff as it gets in range.
Ahh that explains it then! Amazing how much you can squeeze into a list when you’re happy to have troops walk on foot instead of having ships Thanks for clarifying!
I don't think they have much apetite for real balance changes (and they won't wait long enough for the new books to drop/people figure out counters), it'll just be a blanket points increase, and get rid of the 5's. Khemist & Navigator 100 Admiral 140 Thunderers 150 Riggers 130 Wardens 140 Frigates 320 Personally I'm sticking with S2D until KO get their nerf, though I did start building a cheeky second Frigate and 12 Wardens... they sure are tempting. Hope to see you at SAGT Krohn! ...but hopefully not across the table :P
Guys, guys.... I feel very strongly that we DON'T NEED NERDED. What's really going on is other armies need new battletomes - it's as simple as that. Please, please - be more careful in future when suggesting nerfs - I don't trust GW in that they can be reactionary and do things without looking at the bigger long term picture. All we are seeing in my view is a meta that has not adjusted to us yet - AND THEY WILL without us needing to be nerfed. FINALLY our army works like it should have all along and the last thing we need is nerfed after being handicapped for 5+ years. Every new book in this game that has come out recently has crazy stuff in it for every army. It's the way of the new AoS going forward - the other armies just need new books. If we were to be nerfed now before all the armies get new books it's gonna hurt bad long term too boot.
Well of course we would rather not have nerfs either, we’re more speculating on what they might do rather than suggesting they should actually do it. I feel like we’re in a similar state to when the last battletome was strong and you could make lists with every skyport, the nerfs then we’re too much, so hopefully that won’t happen again 🤞
@@Aethercast You guys have quite the podcast now and you can bet that GW is watching.... That's kind of my point - at least partially. Part of the problem with GW too is that traditionally "head doesn't always keep up with what the tail is doing". By that I mean that the guys who are looking at the meta in the company aren't always the guys making the rules and writing the battletomes. It's seem pretty clear that we are going into a high fantasy meta with the game where wild things are supposed to be happening with armies. As each new army book comes out things change and other armies must look into their books to see how they must adjust - that's part of being a good competitive player. I really hope the days of nerfing armies because x player base is upset is over. The real answer is the provision of tools and the GH is but one tool to provide that as well as new battletomes and core rule updates. We went for so long with simple stuff like embarking/disembarking being broken because in my view GW literally caved in to players who couldn't adjust to anything new and that needs not happen in the future.

Interesting to see you’re still using the dragons, good luck!
