In modern wars, when warfare is carried out at medium and long distances, the main dangerous for the soldier is fragments and shrapnel. Even a small fragment can hit vital parts of the body and not just injure a soldier, and put his life in danger.
The Russian Armed forces needed affordable, comfortable and practical bodyarmor, that could be worn by a soldier for several days. 6b43 fulfilled all requirements. The vest is very comfortable, provides a large area of protection. Now 6b43/45 used by almost all Army Units, more and more soldiers stop to use the old 6b23 6b13 in favor of 6b43/45, which is much superior to its predecessors in all aspects.
The main difference between 6b43 and 6b45 in several minor details, and also bulletproof plate grade 5 (vs 6b43, it have 6A) and sewn Kevlar package. Overall, the 6b45 is just a cheaper version of 6b43.

It's honestly not that difficult if you have half an idea of what part goes where.

how to acquire the original kevlar panels? also it doesnt seem u cant put any panels in the neck area.....
You can acquire 6b43 inserts for this only as the real 6b45 has the inserts sewn into the vest. Private sellers either on Facebook or eBay may have 6b43 panels for sale.

What are those cylinder-like shaped pieces near the shoulders? I've seen it in many russian armor sets but never knew what they are for.

they are meant to cushion the buttstock of your rifle.
these are limiters for the belt of the machine so that during movement it does not slip off the shoulder and does not have to be constantly corrected.

looks like you can put SAPI plates in it as he said, but you still would lack the kevlar lining

Why are the inserts gone from your website?
I noticed that too, except for the 6b24-1 also. I still plan on getting the 6b23 for my kit but I’ll have to create my own inserts from a rigid/flexible material that I can cut/shape.

Do the blue fillers have the ability to resist bullet like kevlar armor ?? Or does Russian army use the Kevlar for filling the armor ??
The blue inserts are replicas and provide no protection from bullets.
@@MD_Films This design allow for kevlar armor to insert i think, if Russian didnt make the kevlar part, it would be a waste for build that huge vest comparing to other country.
@@sonhuynh106 yes, it does allow Kevlar inserts, but the inserts shown in the video are replicas.
The real armor is made of Kevlar, this is just normal fabric. Even if you put real plates in. The rest of the vest would provide no soft armor

If you have the groin pad, it attaches with the Velcro opening on the front, so I would assume yes

Take 3 guesses why original russian military stuff is hard to find now. Probably because Russia is using it all in their war against Ukraine. Maybe you can find some on ebay that Ukrainian soldiers are selling that they took off of dead soldiers.
